Sickity Sick Sick - #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is....

I think "sick" describes our week....Ellie has been sick and as I'm down with the youth of today sick also means something good/cool....hehehe It has been a good week even with the vomiting!

Ellie got sent home from school on Wednesday after throwing up....Eww! She was about the 7th child to be sent home this week.....She vomited on the way home...Had a sleep and then was as right as rain.....She ate and kept everything down.....Then the diarrhea started! Eww again!! So today she's having another day off school even though she hasn't pooped since yesterday afternoon.....I don't want to get the blame if she goes back to school and spreads the germs even more.....She's fine and is her normal cheery self so it's been a fun couple of days which has involved a lot of playing.....As I write this she has ALL the Lego we own all over the dining room floor and is having a whale of a time....

Becky has really got used to having braces....So much so that she woke up one morning and forgot she had them.....She is eating properly again.....Well apart from things like chewy sweets and hard food which she is staying well clear of.....She had her pizza from Domino's on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it....

We finally got an appointment through for the hospital to see about Ellie's behavior.....She was referred in June/July time when her behavior was at it's worst....Since the summer holidays her behavior has been brilliant and she has settled back into school so well.....I can't see how the appointment is going to help at the moment but we're still going to go.....

We have had our first issue with Becky using social media.....Not her fault though....A couple of Becky's friends have tried to add me on various social media platforms which I find rather odd....They want me to pass messages onto Becky because she is rubbish at replying to them....lol It is worrying though....One of Becky's friends commented on one of my photos and said "tell Becky to message me back or text me" and she left her phone number for all to see.....I deleted it thankfully! I private messaged her and gave her a lecture about leaving her number for anyone to see....I tried to find her parents on her account to let them know but I couldn't find them.....It is so worrying! I'm so glad Becky has more sense than to give out her phone number....

Yesterday I started watching Doctor Foster and I have caught up now....Wow! What great show! Not something I would usually watch but I love it.....If you haven't seen it watch it....Such a great drama!!

More Christmas presents have been arriving this week.....I have quite a haul at the moment.....I'm actually thinking about starting the wrapping....hehehe

All in all it hasn't been a bad week.....

  1. Yay to the pizza, I am glad she got that! Shame about the sick, but doesn't sound too bad. And well done on the Christmas front - I am not there at all yet! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  2. Oh, the social media thing worries me. That will be coming our way at some point and I've no idea how we'll tackle it. I'm hoping that my two won't be terribly interested to be honest!!

  3. Hi Kim, it does make sense to keep children off a little longer when they've been ill, but the pressure is there to send them back too early, so good on you for keeping her off!

I've had a couple of friends requests from children of Mums I know and I have no idea why. So many parents don't seem to make their children aware of the dangers of sharing information online or is it that the youngsters really don't listen? Hopefully that one took in what you told her.

    1. The school said I had to keep her off even though she was probably well enough to go on the Friday. I suppose it stops the germs spreading!
      Thank you!

  5. Ohh vomiting! I hope there is no more of that in your home. Social media is a scary one - at the moment my little ones are too little to fret about it but it won't be long. H :)

  6. That sounds a nasty bug, hope the rest of you don't catch it. And yes, online awareness and safety is so important and many people have so much to learn #wotw

  7. Sounds like your week has been a bit of a mixed bag. Hope you all don't come down with the sickness bug
As for being down with the kids, good for you! I only hope one day I'll be as cool as you to be included into my child's social media circles. But social media is a scary place for children, you're in a good position to be a teacher/mentor!
Then Christmas...I thought I was ahead of the game, Clearly not!
    Have a good week

  8. Well done on the Christmas present front - that sounds very organised! So glad that Ellie is feeling better and that Becky has got used to her braces now too. Social media is definitely a bit of a minefield isn't it - I try and keep a bit of an eye on my niece's social media feeds as they have added me as a friend and I find it very odd when their friends (who I don't know at all) try to add me too - so worrying. Hope this week is a good one for you :-)
