I hope you are all having a good weekend so far. I am happy to say I am feeling much better after being full of cold this time last week. I have had an easy week and it was just what I needed to recover and feel refreshed.
We had a lovely day on Friday, Stu was off work and we all went to see my dad. It was the first time we've all been together since just after Christmas, we've seen my dad separately but not all descended on him at the same time. Yesterday I had a quiet day at home while Becky slept for work and Stu and Ellie went into town for a mooch around. The only plans we have for today is watch the football. It's Liverpool V Newcastle in the final of the Carabao Cup, of course we want Newcastle to win.
Now for a photo every day!
68/365 - 9th March
I put a new colour on my nails, hot pink! It was something to cheer me up and more spring like than all the dark colours that I usually go for.
69/365 - 10th March
Stu did some work in the garden which he wouldn't have managed without the wheelbarrow. The front and back garden are looking great now and are just waiting for me to do some planting which I am planning to start over the next few days.
70/365 - 11th March
I made Yorkshire Puddings to go with our roast dinner and spent a good while sitting in front of the oven hoping and wishing they would rise, they did a little but not as much as I wanted them to. I will keep trying.
71/365 - 12th March
Just a carrot cake muffin. Becky brought me one home after she had been to town. She knows how to treat me.
72/365 - 13th March
I haven't seen the drink Um Bongo for years, I am sure they stopped making it at one point. I saw it in the shop and had to get some. I asked my girls where they drink Um Bongo and they were so confused. Someone my age knows they drink it in the Congo. hehehe I have had the song stuck in my head for a couple of days now.
73/365 - 14th March
Our Council Tax bill has arrived and its not as bad as I thought it would be. It has only gone up by £6 a month and I feel quite lucky as after posting a pic of it on social media and people were saying they pay a lot more. We don't get any sort of discount and pay over 10 months. I feel quite lucky to live where I do.
74/365 - 15th March
This might be the biggest potato that I've ever seen. My dad was given a bag of potatoes from someone who works at a potato factory and shared some with me.
I'm glad that you're feeling better and that you had a nice week. That muffin looks so good- what a thoughtful treat from your daughter. The potato is a huge one! I hope your weekend is going well!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. Love the pink nails. I do one large yorkshire pudding in a glass dish. Lots of oil, make sure its hot, double up the mix (I use Delia's recipe), avoid opening oven door before 3/4 of the way through. Works every time, stodgy in the middle and crispy edges.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are feeling better. The pink nails look good. I don't think I ever made my own yorkshire puddings.
ReplyDeleteThe muffin looks tasty. That potato winks at you and smiles. I saw your post on Insta about the council tax. Our bill arrived yesterday and it went up to £308 per instalment, that's more than my carer's allowance. :(
That carrot cake muffin would make me very happy too :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteI love Um Bongo I can usually find it in Home Bargains, you've got me humming the tune now. There were so many ads with catch tunes when we were growing up.
Our council tax bill went up £7, this time of year is rubbish for bills going up.
Hope you have a lovely week ahead x
Glad you're feeling better! That is one of the largest potatoes I have ever seen. Oh I don't even want to tell you what our property/town tax bill is like but I am dreading it so much this year as they re-evaluated our property values (which is what our taxes are based on) and our property value doubled.
ReplyDeleteYour council tax is not bad at all. Mine is higher than that and I can't say I'm particularly happy about it. I feel the council is wasting a lot of money and the last Labour mayor was arrested for corruption and fraud. Now it's another Labour mayor, which is bonkers that not enough people decided to vote with someone else (one of the independent candidates was really good).
ReplyDeleteLove the nail polish, so cute!
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I love the fushia pink nail polish. Well done to Newcastle, not my team but massive respect to Eddie Howe, he did an amazing job with Bournemouth too
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling much better and I heard that Newcastle won the Carabao Cup so that was good ! I haven’t seen Um Bongo in years and seeing it put the tune from the ad back in my head too! That potato is massive. #project365
ReplyDeleteThe Yorkshires look good and that is a big potato. I've not seen Um Bongo for years, but I now have ear worm, thank you....not. Nails look good, need to get mine done soon.
