What I have loved this week! Week 15. #FridayFavourites

Today feels like it should be Saturday! I am all messed up with what day it is because my fella worked on Monday which his usual day off. Ellie, my youngest has been on her Easter break from college so having her home each day has confused me too. It's going to get no better next week, my eldest Becky has a week booked off from work as she had holidays to use up. Oh well. I've had a good week and I of course have some favourites and I am of course linking up with Erika and Andrea to share them.

What I have loved this week!

Better Man!
Better Man, the movie is based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams!

I have been so late in watching this movie, it was out in the cinemas just after Christmas and I was too busy to go and spotted it was on Amazon Prime and Becky had a free rental to use up and we both wanted to see it. I loved it. I was a big Take That fan and a Robbie fan in the 90's and more so now. I love the way Robbie was played by the CG-animated chimpanzee, it made no sense but after watching it, it worked!! I found myself laughing, singing along and crying which I didn't expect. His nan, bless her!

The girls being busy!
I keep joking that my girls have a better social life than I do and this week is another week where they have been off out doing their own thing. Trips to the cinema, meals out, gaming with friends. I have found it hard to keep track of them. Ellie even found time to have her nails done, she loves having long nails!

Cleaning the garden furniture.
We don't have amazing garden furniture, just white plastic seats and a table and it has all been out all winter so during the week I gave it all a good clean! A bottle of bleach was used and a scrubbing brush and it all came up pretty well, not perfect but it will do us another summer!

Celebrity Big Brother UK!
I do love Big Brother the normal version and the celeb version which started this week. There's a whole host of reality TV stars, soap stars and the two big stars in my opinion are Mickey Rourke who I am not sure about at all as he was creeping over one of the presenters, he seems very confused about what is going on and after only a couple of days in there he's been given a formal warning for making homophobic remarks. Eek! Then there's JoJo Siwa! She's grown up a lot since I last saw anything of her. My girls used to love her years ago, I remember everyone being crazy about her hair bows. She really has grown up and isn't as loud and annoying as I thought she would be.

Growing seeds!

My seeds are growing

I only planted my seeds last week and I already have plenty of shoots coming through. The pumpkins, sweetcorn, Brussels sprouts and sunflowers are coming through already!

Sausage casserole!
I have been getting plenty of meals from Gousto over the last few months so haven't cooked some of our original family favourites. This week we didn't get as many Gousto meals so went with an old favourite, sausage casserole. I just use a packet mix and add the sausages, onions and mushrooms. The girls were so happy about it and I timed it for the perfect day as it was quite chilly on Wednesday. We had the casserole with mashed potato and as I had made a big pan of it there was some to go into the freezer.

What have you loved over the past week?

  1. Your daughter's nails are pretty! My youngest gets her nails done and likes them long. I don't care for all the color/styles she gets but it's a small thing that makes her happy so I don't complain :). Yah, to seedlings! How exciting to dream about the garden in the coming season!! I hope you have a great Friday and weekend!!

  7. The nails are gorgeous. I remember seeing the trailer for Better Man and thinking it was so strange to have a chimp in the movie. I'm glad it worked though!

  9. I hate it when the days of the week seem to get muddled. Being retired though I'm often checking what day it is lol. Mmm sausage casserole. We had sausages and mash tonight - works well when you have grandkids staying. Enjoy the weekend.
