Our weekly meal plan! 13th - 19th May. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Monday again, they do come around quickly! Last weeks meal plan went well. We ate everything and on the day that I had planned to which seems like a big win. The Chip Shop Fish & Chip Burger With Curry Sauce was so good and just perfect for Saturday evening, we like to have something really nice to eat, that we all like and it certainly went down well. We will be having it again.

We have almost a full week of Gousto meals this week. I am getting a box delivered on Tuesday which we will eat this week and a box delivered on Saturday too which we will start eating over the weekend and for the start of next week. We really wanted some of the meals from next weeks box but if I got it next Tuesday as usual we wouldn't have chance to eat all of the meals as we have plans. The Sticky Honey Mustard Posh Dogs are amazing, we've had them before and the Chicken & Sweetcorn Potato Topped Pie too.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Burgers in buns with corn on the cob and fries. It it is still nice we might even cook them on the barbeque. I must remember to get some nice buns.
Tuesday - Gousto meal - French Toast With Bacon, Spiced Nuts And Caramelised Apple. This feels like something really different from what we usually have but I am excited to try it.
Wednesday - Gousto meal - Pork & Black Bean Stir-Fry With Rice. Stu and Ellie had beef in black bean sauce from the Chinese takeaway last week and we're hoping this tastes similar.
Thursday - Gousto meal - Cheesy Tomato Macaroni Bake.
Friday - Gousto meal - Peri Peri Spiced Fish Cakes With Chips And Spicy Peas. My family are not convinced by this meal but I think it sounds really nice. I might skip the spice in the peas as I don't want to overdo it.
Saturday - Gousto meal - Sticky Honey Mustard Posh Dogs With Chips.
Sunday - Gousto meal - Chicken & Sweetcorn Potato-Topped Pie.

What are you eating this week?

Week 19 of #Project365 5th - 11th May. A photo every day for a year!

Happy Sunday and to anyone from the US who is celebrating Mother's Day today, I hope you have a wonderful day! We are going to make the most of the warm weather and have lunch out at the pub and hopefully sit outside in the beer garden and enjoy a few drinks, if there's space. We were there last Sunday and it wasn't as warm as it's supposed to be today and it was packed.

We have had a good week, just plodding on. It didn't seem as hectic as the last few weeks which I am glad about but I seem to have got more done over the past week at my own pace. We tackled the garden, that is tidy. The mountains of washing are sorted and all put away and I even got the kids to tidy their bedrooms. I feel more in control of life at the moment.

Did anyone else see the Northern Lights? I totally missed them and saw all the photos yesterday morning. I am hoping I saw them last night or I will feel like I have really missed out. Hmmf!

Now for a photo every day!

Youngest and a cheese grater
The back garden
Bingo night and Taylor Swift magazine
Me and my eldest and weedkiller

126/365 - 5th May
We went out for lunch and this time Ellie joined Stu and I. She didn't fancy a roast dinner so had a breakfast. She was so happy that they gave her extra hash browns instead of the mushrooms that she didn't like.

127/365 - 6th May
This is Becky's favourite kitchen gadget, the cheese grater. She actually bought it herself when she saw it on TikTok. She eats a lot of cheese so it was well worth the money but it is a nightmare to clean.

128/365 - 7th May
The garden was tidy, a full line of washing and mostly blue sky. I have got all the washing done this week and have emptied the dirty washing basket a few times, it's just a shame that my family keep needing to wear clean clothes.

129/365 - 8th May
Bingo at the pub. We did well between us. Got a few free drinks around £30 in winnings and I won a bottle of wine which I will be drinking today.

130/365 - 9th May
Ellie was given a Taylor Swift magazine and she thinks it's the best thing ever. She even learned a few things about her which she didn't know before.

131/365 - 10th May
Becky and me. Sunglasses were needed, I am loving all of this sunshine! I hope it lasts.

132/365 - 11th May
I put some weed killer down on the concrete outside. I had planned on cleaning the patio furniture but it was just too warm for me to be outside. I will get around to it eventually, I need to, I want to get the umbrella out and sit in the shade.

This week my Word of the Week is: Warm! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Warm

We have had some gorgeous weather over the past week. It really feels like summer is on it's way now. I love this time of year when it's warm enough to go out without a coat or jacket but not too hot that I am sweating. I don't do well in the heat. This week has been the perfect temperature for me, well apart from on a night time, it's too warm. I think we are going to have to change to the thinner duvet.

It was only yesterday when it really heated up and walking home from my dad's I was sweating! It was so good to get in the house and jump straight in the shower. We only got the shower put in before Christmas so I have been looking forward to using it during the warmer months to cool down and freshen up. It really is brilliant. I felt very indulgent during the week, I had a soak in the bath one afternoon and put a bath bomb in then didn't fancy washing my newly dyed hair in it so I had a shower after my soak. hehehe

On Monday Stu and I were out in the garden, giving it a tidy. I was waiting until my brother got around to taking our old fridge and cooker for scrap until I started sorting the concreted bit just outside the backdoor and kitchen window, he came yesterday so washing the garden chairs and table is a job for today. I am going to get rid of the weeds too and then we can really start enjoying the garden.

I told the girls off yesterday for complaining about being too warm. It was their own fault. They were dressed head to foot in black which of course attracts the heat. I only had black trainers on and my feet were burning. All winter they complain about the cold and all summer they complain about the heat, they're never happy. lol I am really enjoying summer dresses and adding a bit of colour to my outfits. I have even started painting my toe nails again when I am wearing my sandals and matching the nail polish to the outfit that I am wearing. I always seem to dress better when it's warmer instead of just cosying up in leggings and a thick woolly jumper.

We are going out for lunch tomorrow, I think it will just be Stu and me as Becky is on night shift and Ellie has said that she wants a lazy, pj day and to watch Grey's Anatomy! She started watching last week and is on the 2nd season already. I love that she loves it, it's one of my favourite shows. Stu and I are planning on enjoying the pub's beer garden. I have a free bottle of wine that I won at the bingo during the week that I think will go down well in the sunshine. hehehe

How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one!

What I have loved this week! Week 19. #FridayFavourites

This week has felt like a short week with us having a bank holiday on Monday. I have been muddled up with what day it has been. Monday felt like a Sunday, I did my Wednesday jobs on Tuesday so that didn't help matters and then Thursday felt like a Friday. I am hoping today feels back to normal and today feels like the start to a weekend.

Today I am linking up with Erika and Andrea and share some of my favourites from this past week.

What I have loved this week

WWE Backlash!
I am totally back into watching the wrestling again and watched the live event over the weekend. I love it when they have shows in Europe as the fans are always amazing! The fans in France sung every word to everyone's theme and it was just one of those wow moments! Next month there is a live event in Scotland so I am hoping the UK fans don't let us down. heheheh

Bingo!
We went to the pub bingo again this week and won again, not quite as much as last time but my eldest and her friend won about £30 between them and a couple of drinks and I won a free bottle of wine! I asked the pub to save it for me for the next time I am there so that will be a cheap evening out. hehehe

Gavin and Stacey!
They are making one more episode. It was announced last week. Christmas day can't come soon enough! Gavin and Stacey is one of those shows which I can watch again and again, know word for word and still laugh along to. I usually can't stand James Corden but I do love him in this.

Tidying the garden.

Cutting the grass in the back garden

My fella and I were up early on Monday and had a tidy in the garden. The grass was in desperate need of a cut and I did some weeding. Stu got some new wire for the strimmer off my dad so could go right around the edges and trim all the grass. It looked so much nicer when it was finished although it will probably all need doing again in a couple of weeks after the weather we've been having. We've still had plenty of rain but lots of sunny days too. It's 20C as I am writing this and it's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow and Sunday.

the back garden tidied

Manifest!
I started watching Manifest this past week. I am sure I remember years ago I read about it being cancelled but then they made one last season the finish the story. "Manifest" focuses on a group of people who board a flight home from the Bahamas in 2013 only to touch down in 2018, though to them it seems like no time has passed. The passengers soon find themselves receiving mysterious visions they call Callings, which often lead them to save lives or solve crimes.

New hair!
I did my hair over the weekend, going from purple to a red/pink depending on what the lighting is like. Dying my hair is a process that I have to trust. I always panic when I put the bleach on to lighten it, this time it turned a pastel blue getting rid of the purple, the red dye looked very dark but in the end I was happy with the colour. It went on evenly and I got all of my hair covered so I'll take it as a win. It's not quite the red that I wanted but I will take the pink.

New hair

Country music.
I have never disliked country music but I wouldn't say I was a fan but I found myself listening to the top 40 music countdown this week and a lot of it seemed to be country. There were a handful of songs which I have added to my Spotify playlist to listen to while I am doing housework. Austin by Dasha, A bar song by Shaboozey of course Texas Hold Em by Beyonce were my favourites. Then I fell down a rabbit hole of finding other country songs that I like the sound of. I have a whole Country music list now.

What have you loved over the past week?

I am loving watching the WWE again.

Over the years I had dipped in and out of watching the wrestling on TV, mainly the WWE brand. Over the last few years I haven't really bothered with it but recently I have got back into it and I am hooked again. It feels like it's heading in a new direction now that the old boss has stepped back.

WWE on the TV

I first got into watching the wrestling when I used to catch bits on the TV when I was in my late teens. They called it the Attitude Era where it got a bit edgy and more aimed towards adults and that is what reeled me in. It was the time of The Undertaker, D-X, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock who now goes by Dwayne Johnson, the actor who sometimes still appears on the WWE.

I know lots of people say what's the point in watching wrestling, it's fake. So? Yes it's scripted but so is a Marvel movie, Eastenders or even The Simpsons. It might be scripted with the writers knowing the winners of a match before anyone gets in the ring but the wrestlers are amazing performers and put on a show like no other!

Not all the outcomes and moments in wresting are scripted. People saying things that they really shouldn't, matches not ending like they should and of course there are injuries which happen. I remember not long after I started watching the wrestling and staying up really late to watch the monthly pay-per-views a wrestler died in the ring. Owen Hart. He was being lowered down to the ring from the rafters and fell. The show carried on and there was an amazing tribute show to him the next evening when all rivalries and storylines were forgotten about.

It's not just about the physicality of the sport it's also about the storytelling. WWE is like a never ending soap opera with plot twists, betrayals and epic showdowns which usually happen once a month at a premium live event! I sometimes forget that it isn't real like when wrestlers get so passionate about things. Recently there was a big match, someone won the a title and was so real, there were tears, other wrestlers came to the ring to celebrate it was real in that moment!

There are some amazing characters, from iconic legends to up and coming rookies. I have found myself cheering for one person one week and the next hating them when they have turned on their friends or beaten someone that I really like. What I am really like now is the ladies who are wrestling. In the late 90's the female wrestlers were treated as objects, they were there as eye candy but now I dare say some of them could go toe to toe with some of the men and beat them easily. They are all shapes and sizes and some are people that young girls can look up to, I am not saying all as some of their characters are just wrong'uns. hehehe

Over the last 6 months or so since I have been watching again there has been a big shift in what is shown on TV. One of the main people in charge (Triple H) used to be a wrestler and seems to "get it" more than the previous CEO. Things seem more relaxed which seems to make better TV. The scripted bits are less scripted. Just the other week one guy was talking to another and he ended up just breaking down laughing forgetting what he was going to say. There was a live event in France over the weekend and in my years of watching the Wrestling I have seen/heard nothing like it. The crowd were amazing, singing along to everyone's entrance song. There was such an atmosphere. I feel like I have started watching again at such a special time.

Apparently in January, next year, Netflix will be showing one of the WWE's weekly shows. Monday Night Raw. My thinking is that if Netflix is paying for that it's going to end up paying for more if people watch! I know I will be!

Have you ever watched the wrestling?

Would You Rather - Part 7.

A while ago I saw a post from the blog This Is Where It's At with 80 Would you rather questions. I thought they would be fun to answer them. I was going to do all 80 in one post but I do like to waffle on so thought I would split them into a few blog posts. You can read the previous set of questions in an earlier blog post.

Question Marks

Would you rather have an incredibly annoying high-pitched voice or a really deep manly voice?
I think my voice is quite deep anyway so I would be OK with a manly voice. I don't think a high pitched voice would suit me and I certainly wouldn't want to be annoying.

Would you rather have a full blown moustache for a year or permanently hairy legs for years?
I would take the hairy legs. I don't often show my legs so it wouldn't really be an issue and in the winter months I can go ages without shaving my legs.

Would you rather give up your phone or only wear Crocs for the rest of your life?
I can't give up my phone so wearing Crocs it is. My dad loves his Crocs and over the last year or so I pinched Ellie's and have been wearing them. They are so comfy and actually keep your feet warm.

Would you rather clog the toilet on a first date or first day at a new job?
I think on a first date, if the rest of the date goes well it could be something to laugh about in years to come and if it goes badly so what. Starting a new job is stressful enough without having to deal with clogged toilets.

Would you rather have an abnormally big toe or an abnormally big ear?
I think my big toes are abnormally big so I will stick with that plus I could hide them better than I could abnormally big ears.

Would you rather be three feet tall or eight feet tall?
Three foot tall isn't really that short, it is compared to average height but it's fine. Being eight foot tall could make life difficult. I don't think I could get used to ducking going through doors.

Would you rather have to be naked at work for an hour or be dropped off two miles from your house whilst you're naked and you have to try and get home?
Getting home while I was naked would be easy. We live in a pretty rural area at one side of my house so as long as I got dropped off there and not in town it would be fine. I could run through the fields and I don't think many people would see me.

Would you rather smell like cheese (which has been left in the sun) or a hamster cage (which hasn't been cleaned for a fortnight)?
I think they would both smell as equally as rotten so the hamster cage, I would blame it on pets that I could pretend to have.

Would you rather be a mad genius or popular but dim?
I think I would rather be popular but dim. I am sometimes a bit dim and the popular bit would be a bonus.

Would you rather have a nose that never stops growing or ears that never stop growing?
The ears which never stop growing, they would get to a point that they'd be so long that I could tie them up with my hair in a ponytail.

What would you answer for these Would you rather questions?

Tips to help you stay safe in the sun! #SunAwarenessWeek

We must be due some warmer weather soon as it is National Sun Awareness Week which is organised by the British Association of Dermatologists. The aim is to raise awareness of the dangers of excessive sun exposure and how to avoid sunburn and skin cancers.

white and blue cloudy sky

As a teenager I know I didn't look after my skin in the sun. My friends and I would sunbathe, trying to get the best tan and more often than not getting sun burn. It was only when I had kids I started using more protection from the sun on the kids and on myself!

As we gear up for longer days, spending more time outside it's important to remember that while sunshine can do wonders for our mood and health it also comes with its fair share of risks. This week is a great reminder about sun safety and encouraging everyone to enjoy the sun responsibly. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and rates have been climbing since the 1960s. Sun damage which starts in childhood can lead to skin cancer later in life.

Here are some top tips to help you stay safe in the sun:

Slather on the SPF: Sunscreen is your skin's best friend when it comes to sun protection. Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, and don't forget to apply it generously to all exposed areas of skin. Remember to reapply every two hours, especially if you're swimming or sweating.

Seek Shade: While it's tempting to soak up the sun's rays, seek shade during peak hours when the sun's rays are strongest (usually between 10 AM and 4 PM). Whether it's under a tree, an umbrella or a wide brimmed hat. Finding shade can help reduce your exposure to harmful UV radiation.

Cover Up: Clothing can provide an extra layer of protection against the sun's rays. Wear lightweight, long sleeved shirts, pants and wide brimmed hats to shield your skin from direct sunlight. Don't forget to protect your eyes with sunglasses that offer UV protection.

Stay Hydrated: Spending time in the sun can lead to dehydration, so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Hydrated skin is healthy skin, and staying hydrated can also help prevent heat related illnesses.

Practice Self-Examination: Regularly check your skin for any changes, such as new moles, freckles, or spots, as well as changes in existing moles or spots. If you notice anything unusual, consult a dermatologist or doctor as soon as you can. Early detection of skin cancer can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Avoid Tanning Beds: While the allure of a golden tan may be tempting, tanning beds emit harmful UV radiation that can increase your risk of skin cancer and premature aging. Embrace your natural skin tone and opt for sunless tanning alternatives if you're craving a bronzed glow.

Spread the Word: Share your sun safety knowledge with friends, family, and loved ones. Encourage them to prioritise sun protection and make it a habit year round.

Let's celebrate the sunshine responsibly and prioritise the health of our skin. By following these simple tips and spreading awareness about sun safety we can enjoy all the benefits of sunshine while minimising the risks. Here's to a summer filled with sunshine, laughter, and healthy, happy skin!

Are you careful in the sun?

Our weekly meal plan! 6th - 12th May. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well. We ate all of the meals that I had planned but there were a couple from Gousto that we weren't too keen on. The Indian Style Spiced Chicken Schnitzel and the Bacon Frijoles Charros. I think I pushed my family way out of their comfort zone when it comes to food. Since we have started getting Gousto boxes we have tried new meals most weeks and there has only been a few meals we haven't been keen on so it was unlucky to get two in one week. It hasn't put us off though, I am playing it a bit safer this week and ordering meals that I know my lot will like.

I am off out again on Wednesday with Becky and her girlfriend to play bingo at the pub so we will be eating out and Stu and Ellie are going to get a Chinese takeaway. I am hoping we win again at the bingo but I think if we do and win big people will start shouting fix. lol Apart from that we don't have much on this week, it's a short one with today being a bank holiday which Ellie is very happy about, she gets a day off college for the rest of us it's just a normal day as it's usually Stu's day off work anyway and Becky works in care so bank holidays don't count for her.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - We're going to the farm shop for some plants so will pick up some burgers, they do the most amazing pork and apple one's. I might get some stuff to make salad too.
Tuesday - Gousto meal - Creamy Chicken, Bacon & Mushroom Stew.
Wednesday - Eating out for Becky and I and takeaway for Stu and Ellie.
Thursday - Gousto meal - Rich Mushroom Ragù Linguine.
Friday - Gousto meal - Oven Baked Chinese-Style Pork Belly With Rice.
Saturday - Gousto meal - Chip Shop Fish & Chip Burger With Curry Sauce.
Sunday - Sunday lunch out!

What are you eating this week?

Week 18 of #Project365 28th April - 4th May. A photo every day for a year!

Yesterday my Word of the Week was Busy but I now think it could have been hair-dye because my week has revolved around it when I look back over the photos that I took. I realised I needed mine dying, ordered dye, cut and dyed Ellie's during the week and then did mine yesterday.

We have had a good week, a busy one but the sun has been shining and that has made me happy. I am hoping next week will be a bit quieter with not so much to do. It's great being so busy but I am really not used to it. At least it's a short week with the bank holiday Monday.

Now for a photo every day!

Multi-coloured hair and glass of cider
Dressed up and hair dye
Spotify and grass
Hair dye on

119/365 - 28th April
Both the girls said that I needed my hair dying. I loved the purple colour but it just doesn't seem to last on my hair, especially at the front where it was starting to look a bit orange. I ordered some hair dye.

120/365 - 29th April
Stu and I popped in the pub to see that they have replaced the Strongbow Dark Fruit cider with this Old Mout Cherries and Berries one. I tried it and I actually prefer it, it is so easy to drink, a little too easy. I can imagine drinking many more during the warmer months in the beer garden.

121/365 - 30th April
The sun was shining and it put me in such a good mood so I dressed up a little. I even had my legs out and sandals on. Thank goodness for instant fake tan, my legs are so pale.

122/365 - 1st May
My hair dye arrived. 2 Pillarbox red and 2 Flamingo pink. I had to order a tinting brush to push it over the amount that I needed for free delivery. I have ordered that much dye over the last few years that I now get a discount on every purchase which seems like a bit of a con now because I have to order more for the free delivery. lol

123/365 - 2nd May
This song has been stuck in my head for weeks. I kept hearing it on TikTok but had no idea who Joe Hendry was. Turns out he's a wrestler from Scotland. The song has actually been released now in the music charts.

124/365 - 3rd May
The grass needs cutting again. I am blaming all of the rain that we have had! That's a job for today or tomorrow depending on the weather.

125/365 - 4th May
Hair dye day! It's a process that I have to trust. I put the bleach on and it turned blue thanks to the purple that I was getting out. The red looked very dark when I put it on and then in the bathroom light looked pink when it was dry. It looks more red when I am outside! Phew! You can see the finished result on my Insta.

This week my Word of the Week is: Busy! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Busy

I feel like I have has such a busy week, being here there and everywhere. On Monday and Tuesday I was out for most of the day which is unusual for me. I will have days when I am out but always seem to spend the next day at home. Being out 2 days on the trot felt so strange but felt nice to be busy.

Stu and I went to my dad's on Monday to help him out with some things on his computer and with his printer. He is always so grateful that we can help him as he is not good with computers, he spent most of his life not using one and now the world has changed everything needs to be done on them. Over the last couple of years he has even started doing his accounts on the Excel spreadsheets. I don't know how but he keeps losing the decimal point on his spreadsheet and forgets how to get it back. He had issues with his online banking and his printer was printing random dots on the paper. It turns out he had some dirt in it. Stu and I had some more errands to run and then we ended up at the pub. We only popped in for a pint and ended up stopping for a couple and a fish finger sandwich each. They were proper fish goujons not boring old fish fingers. We had a chat to a few people and then came home to make sure Becky was out of bed after her night shift.

On Tuesday I had appointments and errands to run. I left the house at lunchtime and it was after five when I got in. In fact I met Ellie getting off her college bus which was a surprise for her. I did have time to pick a nice outfit though, my legs were out for the first time this year with 3/4 length leggings on and my sandals. The sun shining gave my mood such a boost and I felt like dressing up nice even though I didn't really have to.

I needed Wednesday to catch up on the housework. The washing was piling up, the clean and dirty piles. It was a lovely day so at least I could get it out on the line to dry. I have realised that sorting the clean washing is taking longer than it should. Becky keeps pinching t-shirts off Stu and claiming them, they both now have the same socks, both the girls wear exactly the same black jeans and Stu and Ellie have some of the same pj's. How am I supposed to know who's is who's? Someone on Twitter did suggest cutting the tags out of one of the girls clothes which will differentiate between them which I am going to do when one of them agrees to it. I was tempted to write on the tags who's clothes were who's. lol

I thought I was going to have a day to catch up on some blogging on Thursday but by the time I had done the jobs around the house Ellie decided she wanted her hair cut and dyed. It really needed doing and it was nice to do something together even if she did scream and shout when it came to washing the dye out. I have told her if she keeps making such a fuss I won't be doing it again. She is such a drama queen, I know she doesn't like water on her face but that's the price she pays when I am doing her hair and she won't sit still. Oops. lol Her hair does look fabulous now though.

Yesterday Ellie and I went to my dad's and his partner was there which was a nice surprise. I haven't seen her for a few weeks as she has been busy so we had a big catch up. We were chatting for about 3 hours which was lovely. I was very grateful to my dad who gave us a lift home, the rain was awful!

I don't know what we have planned for the bank holiday weekend. We could do with doing some work in the garden but that all depends on the weather. It's hard to tell, the Met Office says it's going to be dry tomorrow and Monday and the BBC website says we're going to get rain for tomorrow and Monday afternoon. Who knows?

How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one!

What I have loved this week! Week 18. #FridayFavourites

Finally Friday! I feel like I have been so busy over the past week. I was out most of Monday and Tuesday so on Wednesday I was playing catch up with all of the house work, yesterday went in a blue and here we are heading into a long weekend. We have a bank holiday on Monday which only makes a difference to Ellie as she's off college, it's my fellas normal day off work and Becky works in care so bank holidays don't apply to her.

Today I am linking up with Erika and Andrea and share some of my favourites from this past week.

What I loved this week

Humans!
When Humans was shown on TV I watched it or at least the first couple of seasons. I saw that the whole show was on Netflix so decided to rewatch. There is so much that I don't remember. Set in a time and place like our own but one where robotics technology has progressed to the point where robotic workers, Synths are commonplace and a must have gadget for any busy family. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth and discovers that sharing life with a machine has chilling, far reaching consequences.

A rainy Sunday!
For the last few months we have been going out most Sundays for lunch. We had planned to stay in on Sunday anyway but the rain made it feel so cosy. It chucked it down all day and it was nice to stay in, cook a roast dinner and stay in my pj's.

Dresses!
A few weeks ago I got some new dresses and I love them. I am planning on going back to Primark and buying more in different colours. They seem to fit in all the right places and I can still get away with wearing leggings or jeans underneath if it isn't too warm.

Me dressed in my new dresses

On Tuesday it was a warm day, probably the warmest of the year so far and I wore the blue dress with 3/4 length leggings and my sandals. It was a real taste of summer!

I have always struggled with fake tan. I haven't the patience to put it on and let it develop over night, I want instant results and have tried plenty of instant tans in the past but they would end up patchy and streaky or be too light or dark. This one is perfect! It gives a natural glow, smells amazing, didn't rub off onto my clothes and most importantly doesn't look orange.

A new/old fridge!
We had fridge issues which I mentioned in my meal planning post. Ours had broke and instead of us buying a new one my brother brought a spare that he had. He does house removals so is the man to know when you need things like that. All it needed was a good clean and it was good to go. I didn't realise how broken our old fridge was until we got the new/2nd hand one. It's actually cold instead of just keeping things chilled.

Alarm clocks!
Sleeping in was not one of my favourites but it made me realise that mobile phones and their alarm clocks are a good thing. On Wednesday morning Ellie woke me and told me that we had slept in, it was half past 8, the time she should have been getting to college. Oops. There was a power cut, I am assuming sometime after my fella left for work just after 6am but before 7am when Ellie's alarm was set. Her alarm clock is a plug in, digital one which just resets when there's a power cut. I will go back to setting my alarm on my phone, just in case, at least if the power goes off that will still work.

What have you loved over the past week?

365 Days Of Gratitude. In April I was grateful for..

April flew over! Seriously, where did it go? I am blaming the fact that Stu had a week off work and Ellie 2 weeks off college and the whole month has felt like a blur. We have had lots of family time and fun. It was a good month!

I have seen many people on social media list something every day that they are grateful for and thought I would join in and have on my private Facebook account every day and I thought I would share here too. I did this for the whole of last year couple of years and it has really made me realise that even on the bad day's I have something to be grateful for.
