This is photo I have been wanting to take for a few months but it's always been so cold, dark or wet....It's of the artwork in town on the end of a row of shops. I live in Ashington, Northumberland and many years ago it was a big mining town.....

It looks a lovely part of the town's history
ReplyDeleteI love seeing street art like this, especially when it captures the uniqueness or history of a town as this one does.
ReplyDeleteOh did you time that image perfectly or what! Canary in the man's hand and bird on the apex of the roof. The lighting conditions were also great to highlight such a magnificent mural. I can appreciate its importance to the surrounding area. #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteThat's so beautiful - what a powerful image. And so lovely against such a blue sky.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live in northern Spain used to be a big mining area and we have a sculpture of a miner in the centre of a roundabout on the way into town. It's so important to have living, visible reminders of the history of a place.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that. Things like this are always eye catching
