Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. We have had a nice quiet one. Housework, the F1 race and Strictly Come Dancing yesterday and today we don't have any plans at all.

It's crazy to think this time next week we will be halfway through the first week in October. I don't know if it's just me but this year has flown over. Sometimes I wish time would just slow down a little, it will be Christmas before we know it and I am not ready for that. Hopefully I am going to start shopping for Christmas presents next week. I have quite a few ideas what to buy people so it should be easy!

I started watching Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story on Netflix this week and I finished it too. I still don't know if I loved or hated it. It was an interesting story but a bit too gory for my liking. I carried on watching because I wanted to know what happened.

Curlywurly's take me right back to my childhood! My grandad used to buy me one whenever we he went to the shop for his newspaper on a Sunday. They have of course shrunk in size now but they still taste almost the same which is the important bit.

The Great British Bake Off was back on TV on Tuesday and it always makes it feel like proper Autumn. Nigella Lawson is one of the new judges and isn't she a stunner! I couldn't believe she is 66 years old. She looks fantastic!

Stu brought home treats from work from Samsung! In this was a little bag of hot chocolate and another of marshmallows. I love little treats like this, especially when I wasn't expecting it.

This looks like a strange photo but it's the only one I took that day. I put my hairdressing skills to use, it turns out I must have some because this person trusted me to cut her hair. I cut about 8 inches off and it is straighter in real life than it looks in the photo! This was just a photo to show the person how much had been cut off.

On Wednesday in my Hodgepodge post, I mentioned conker shells and conkers and it turns out some people didn't know what I was talking about. I probably should have used their proper name, horse chestnuts! Ellie and I went hunting for some just so I could take a photo and share!

My dad was busy working on his new baby, otherwise known as the car that was last on the road in 1979! I don't know enough about cars to explain exactly what he was doing this time but I do know it involved the engine and it was causing him plenty of problems. He enjoys figuring how to fix things like this and it keeps him busy so it's a good thing.

A photo every day for a year! 6th - 12th September! Week 37 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. We have had a great week with lots of nice things happening! Birthday celebrations for Becky, a nice meal out, sorting the garden, lots to watch on the TV and my dad feeling better after a trip to the hospital. He got bit by something on his big toe, it doubled in size, turned bright red and he could hardly walk. He's got a bunch of tablets, is feeling much better now and is running rings around us again. Phew! I would like to think this would teach him to wear proper socks and shoes when he is out working instead of Crocs with no socks but I don't think he will have learnt his lesson.

We had a lovely quiet day on Friday. My dad popped round to show me he could walk properly again and he ended up staying longer than he had planned. He only put the cricket on to check the score and an hour later he was still watching while having a chat. Yesterday I spent the day having a good tidy up and clean around the house and really enjoyed myself with a playlist of sing-along songs. hehehe Today is all about sport, of course which is pretty normal for a Sunday. F1 and then some football. It's Man City V Man United this afternoon, which I am quite looking forward to. I am also cooking a proper roast dinner today. Chicken, all the veggies, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire Puddings and lots of gravy!

We of course watched the F1 race. It was, of course, full of drama. Is there ever an F1 race that doesn't have something happening!

Stu and I had a busy day on Monday pottering around the garden. I did the weeding while he mowed the grass and we also got a few loads of washing drying on the line. It is getting to that point in the year when I am making the most of drying clothes outside. It won't be long until it is too cold, too wet or just too miserable and the tumble dryer will have to do its thing.

Becky made lasagne from scratch and did a fantastic job! There were leftovers too, which is always a bonus.

Ellie got her certificates through the post from the Mechanical Engineering course that she did in college. It was really nice seeing them arrive and having something official to show for all the work she put into the course. Of course, I had to take a photo because that's what Project 365 is all about. I like being able to capture these little moments.

It was Becky's birthday and her presents were sat there for most of the day. It wasn't until about 10pm until she got around to opening them. She was very happy with everything she received.

My dad came around with a present for Becky. There is a story behind these ducks. My dad has had them hanging on one of his doors with bath towels on for years. He has always said they would be left to Becky, so she had known for ages that they were eventually going to be hers and then, completely by chance, my dad came across another hanger that was exactly the same! He knew Becky would love it, so he got it and she was over the moon about it.

We're back on the Gousto Boxes! I pick the recipes and they send everything I need to make them! The fridge is now full of everything that I need to make 4 meals that we will have next week.

A photo every day for a year! 30th Aug - 5th Sept! Week 36 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. We're having a good weekend. The girls were out yesterday with their people and I had a quiet day at home, which was quite nice and just what I needed! I have had a busy week and that shows by my photos. I always take photos of food when I am busy. lol Yesterday I spent the day doing housework, of course, doing some blogging and catching up on the two months of EastEnders that I had to watch. I am still not caught up.

Since September started, it has felt very Autumnal here. As much as the temperature has been hovering around 20C, it has felt chillier since the start of the month. I have actually found myself reaching for a jumper to wear and my blanket to put over my legs. I'm back to not knowing whether to wear a light jacket when I go out. Sometimes it looks grey and gloomy and is actually quite warm and other times it looks sunny and rain will appear.

We've had a week or so of rain and it has really helped the grass in my back garden. It is so much more green compared to a few weeks ago when it was all burned and yellow!

Official photos are the worst! I needed photos for a provisional driving licence and as much as I know, they're only little passport-style photos. I always find having my picture taken for something official a bit awkward when you are not allowed to smile. I did think about using one of those photo booth things in the shopping centre but they looked like so much could go wrong. So I went to a shop instead where a lovely lady took them and printed them out for me. Much easier!

Becky had a day at the beach and brought me a tub of candyfloss back. It was probably about a year ago when she last went and brought me some home. It was a nice little treat. Candyfloss always reminds me of days out and the seaside.

The start of the Carrot & Coriander soup when it was bubbling away in the pan! I usually buy normal carrots, peel and chop them myself but there were none in the shop, so I had to buy the carrot batons instead. It didn't really make any difference apart from cutting out the peeling and chopping. I now feel like I have accidentally found a little shortcut!

I was out shopping and stopped off for lunch. I had an all-day breakfast! It did make me happy that the tomatoes and baked beans were in little metal tubs so I could put them where I wanted. I did like that idea. I don't like my tomatoes touching the egg or making the hash brown go soggy!

I was all set to catch up on commenting on blogs on Friday and I couldn't. I thought it was just me until I went on the Blogger Support forum thingy and lots of people were saying no comments were going through on any Blogger blogs. So if you tried to comment and you couldn't, it wasn't my fault. From what I can see, it's all fixed now! Phew!

Last week it was the new Gilmore Girls PJs. This week it's a mug! I couldn't leave it in the shop. It was the last one on the shelf and a bargain price of £2.99. I don't think Stu has noticed it, he hasn't said anything but a few months ago put me on a mug ban until I got rid of some of the older ones. Oops. It came from Home Bargains, in case you were wondering.

I am writing this yesterday morning before the big celebrations for Ellie's 19th birthday began and so far she's opened her presents, we are waiting for a McDonald's breakfast to be delivered and we have lots of plans for the rest of the day!

Sunday was a day of sport here with football, F1 and more football. One of the highlights was seeing the tribute to Kevin Keegan before the Newcastle v Liverpool match. It was amazing to see and such a lovely way to remember him. There are some footballers who have just become part of the history of a club and Kevin Keegan is definitely one of those names that both Liverpool and Newcastle fans will always remember.

You could tell by the whiteboard in the kitchen that I didn't get the usual grocery order delivered this week. Instead, we were eating out of the freezer and using up things that we already had in which meant lots of random things were already added by Monday.

I got myself some Gilmore Girls pj's from Primark. From what I can see online they some stores have a whole range of things. The store here just has these pjs. Hmmf.

I was not expecting to see this pop up in my garden! It wasn't with the rest of my sunflowers, so I am guessing that it came from the mixed flower seed box that I bought.

I needed to dye my hair, just to top the red up and realised I didn't have any of my usual dye, so I had to resort to this one. I forgot how much I hate it, my hair feels horrible and it is not as red as I want it.

The big boots were out, which meant Ellie was off out for a night with friends on her birthday eve! They are not as scary as they look. I've tried them on and apart from the big platform, they are comfier than my comfy boots, they're light and easy to walk in.

The birthday girl opened all of her presents and was very happy with what she received. Phew!

A photo every day for a year! 15th - 22nd August Week 34 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. Ours has been really nice so far. We had a family night in front of the TV last night. It seems ages since we have done that. The Voice UK is back on TV, which is one of our favourite shows to watch together and it means that the new season of shows is starting. I know Big Brother is coming soon and Strictly Come Dancing won't be far behind that!

Today is going to be all about sport. It is the Dutch Grand Prix this afternoon and then Newcastle have their first match of the season against Liverpool and it's going to be an emotional one as it's the first one since Kevin Keegan has passed away. He was a big thing for both Newcastle and Liverpool fans.

This is the photo I didn't add last week because we were having a family day out. The first stop was lunch at the all-you-can-eat place. I do love how you can put whatever on your plate. I had plain noodles, fried mushrooms, Coca-Cola chicken, prawn toast, gammon and a couple of pieces of Doner kebab.

My cherry tomatoes are finally turning red and I have started picking a couple every day but these beasts are still growing. I hope they ripen soon.

See the water on the ground, it's rain! There were actual little puddles and it was wonderful to see. It has rained a little every day since Monday and we needed it. There's still a hosepipe ban and the grass in the garden still looks burned but my plants got a good soaking!

I couldn't wait any longer. It looked like my sweetcorn was ready and after checking it several times, I decided it was time to pick one. I gave it a wash and ate some and, thankfully, it tasted like sweetcorn! I am taking that as a win because I have finally succeeded in growing sweetcorn. I have tried before and not had any luck, so growing some that I could pick and eat made me feel like a proper gardener. I will leave the rest to grow some more.

My dad has a new vintage car in his garage and it's an old one. This was the tax disc from when it was last on the road, 1979!! That was the year I was born. Apparently it has been sitting in a garage, hidden away all this time.

I put the football on, Hull v Man United and I did not expect to see our local team Hull winning! They were only just promoted to the Premier League, so it was not expected. It is half-time now as I write this and they are now winning 2 - 0. I do hope they win!

A photo every day for a year! 9th - 15th August Week 33 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. I am writing this on Friday evening which is early for me to write this blog post but we were out all day yesterday and I didn't want to rush through it last night. We have had a proper family weekend. We all went to my dad's on Friday. Stu had a day off work so he could have a long weekend for his birthday, so he came along too and my dad does love it when he visits. Stu is into all his cars, things he builds and mechanical stuff that I don't have much interest in, so my dad turns into a real show off. Hehehe. It is actually quite funny watching them together because I have no idea what they are talking about half the time but they are both happy chatting away.

Yesterday (hopefully) we celebrated Stu's birthday a day early by going to our favourite all you can eat place in Hull and on the way home we stopped off at our favourite pub for a few drinks. It was a really nice way to celebrate without making it a big thing. Today is his actual birthday and we have no plans at all. He didn't want a fuss, all he asked for was a lie in and not have to make any cups of tea for us all. That can be done. Hehehe.

Stu started work on decorating the bathroom and got most of the vinyl boards up around the shower. They are waterproof and then he got on with making them watertight with filler and sealant stuff. I left him to it as he didn't want my help. I did try but was just getting in the way and saying things like that's not straight. Oops.

More work in the bathroom. Stu has got some wood-like wallpaper but it's thick vinyl off Temu. He started putting it up and it already looks fantastic. The top is the new stuff and the bottom is the old, painted wood. I really like how it looks and it has made such a difference to the bathroom already.

I snapped a photo of a Gousto recipe for the Sloppy Joe's we were having for tea. I needed to know how much water to add to the tomato paste and didn't see the point of walking into the kitchen and forgetting and then having to come back again. Lol. Sometimes taking a photo of something is just the easiest option!

I was standing just inside the doorway pointing my phone to the sun when the solar eclipse was happening. I was so surprised to see the crescent shape, I thought it was an extra moon or planet. Lol. Google quickly brought me back down to earth. It was an optical lens flare caused by the bright light of the sun reflecting inside the camera's lens elements! Hmmf!

Every time I cook for more than just my family, I burn myself. This was off the hot oil when I gave the chips in the pan a shake. I of course ran it under the hot tap but it still blistered. It makes a change burning myself on the oil, usually it's when I am getting food out of the air fryer. It's fine now and nothing to worry about.

Did anyone else panic and get really confused when we got a Severe Alert warning on our phones? Even Ellie's phone, which is always silenced made the alarm noise. Eek! I seriously thought the world was ending, we were being attacked or something like that. It was basically telling us not to start fires, have barbecues, use firepits and things like that because of the wildfires. It has been all over the news for days, so I don't think the Severe Alert was needed.

A photo every day for a year! 2nd - 8th August Week 32 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. I am glad to say I am well and truly over the cold that I have had. We all seem to have finally got over it and thankfully, it seems to have passed Ellie right by! Phew! I was getting a bit fed up with feeling rubbish and on Friday was at that stage where I thought I was better but felt exhausted after just walking to my dad's. Now I feel full of energy and I'm raring to go!

I was writing this yesterday, it's 11:10 and I feel like I have had a day of it already! lol. I had some good news about a family thing. Don't worry, it was nothing bad, quite the opposite. I will share more about it when things are a little more definite, because I don't want to say too much and then have to say that didn't happen but it's good news and it really put a smile on my face. Then I went to go in the shower and there was water coming out of the bottom of it. So I did the usual thing of ringing my dad and asking for help. Thankfully, he came round, took the shower head off and suddenly it was working perfectly again. It turns out the shower head was filled with limescale! That stuff tortures us here, the kettle and washing machine are always filling up with it and the drains outside too. My dad only knew what the problem was because he had the exact same thing happen to his shower a few months ago. The water couldn't get through the shower head properly, so it was finding another way out. I then had to sort Ellie's hair because she didn't have time for a shower before she went out. Thank goodness for dry shampoo because it has saved us more than once! I am hoping for a nice relaxed afternoon but I sure do have a lot to talk about with Stu when he rings at lunchtime. lol

Just a little ice cream and I emphasise the word little! I am sure these used to be bigger. I know everything seems smaller these days but I really don't remember Twister Minis being quite so mini. This was purely for medicinal reasons. I was full of cold and obviously, ice cream is a well-known treatment for these things. hehehe The second one I had later in the day was more for enjoyment though.

Whenever I look at the sunflowers in my garden, they make me happy. I stop almost every day just to look at them and snap a photo. The bees don't seem to get bored with them either, they are always buzzing around them!

On Tuesday, Becky and I needed a little pick-me-up, so we had Costa Coffee delivered, although no coffee was actually ordered. I had a mango and passion fruit cooler, a bacon roll and a lemon muffin and Becky had mac and cheese and some sort of frappe. I can't remember exactly what was in her drink but it looked nice! It was exactly what we needed.

I got up to Negan's first episode on The Walking Dead! (I am rewatching it). If you have watched The Walking Dead, you will probably know exactly which episode I mean and if you haven't, I won't spoil it for you! When I first watched it, I hated Negan but over time he has grown on me and he is now one of my favourite characters. Obviously, that doesn't include the bits where he is doing awful things with his baseball bat but as a character, he is brilliant.

This is what the sky looked like for most of Wednesday. It looked like it could chuck it down at any moment but it didn't. We had about 20 drops of rain and I only know that because when I went to put some rubbish out, I noticed it on the wheelie bin. There were just enough drops to make me think that we were going to get some rain but no, there wasn't any more. Hmmf.

Football! Middlesbrough, my old hometown team versus Wrexham, the team that Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) own. It ended 1-0 to Middlesbrough, which I was happy with. They are through to the next round of the EFL Cup and it was a good way to start the new football season.

I have a tomato that I grew in my garden! Just one though. All the rest are still green but this one finally decided it was ready, so I picked it, washed it and ate it straight away. Delicious! There is something really satisfying about eating something that you have grown yourself, even if it is only one tomato.

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. I am having a great weekend. On Friday night, Becky and I went out for a meal, then met up with Stu and then Ellie later in the evening and went to The Irish bar in town. It was exactly the sort of night I needed. Yesterday I caught up on the housework and then the weekend has been filled with wrestling as it was on Friday night, last night and tonight. I did think about staying up to watch. It started at midnight but I decided just to play catch up.

Phew! This was easier than I thought it was going to be, verifying my age for a game I play. It's a new thing that has been introduced and I wasn't sure I could do it without photo ID. I did it and then found out I didn't even need to do it because I don't use the social or chat features on the game.

This one went for a job interview. She didn't get the job but it was a great experience for her. She had her fancy clothes on and I had to get a photo before she went and did her hair and make-up. It made me smile because it feels like only yesterday she was getting ready for school and now she is going off to interviews and looking for work.

I dyed my hair and first up was lightening it with the bleach. I always panic a little when I do this and think, will this be the time my hair fries and falls out? I feel like I have been lucky so far though, and my hair is in decent condition considering I bleach it every 12 weeks and colour it every 6. I

Becky baked a banana loaf! There might have been a couple of almost mishaps along the way though. At one point she got a teaspoon and a tablespoon mixed up and there was a little panic about whether she had overcooked it but it all worked out OK and the banana loaf was perfect!

My peppers are finally growing! I have been waiting patiently and they seem to have taken forever! Ellie doesn't usually get excited about what I am growing in the garden but she is interested in these as they are her favourite vegetable. Now I just need to keep them alive long enough for us to actually eat them!

I am on a mission to find more of these plates. Becky has always said when she leaves home she is taking them and we only have two and I love them too. I think my dad gave us a pile of random plates years ago and these were in the mix. Anyway, I've made it my mission to find more of them online and I can find them but I am not paying the silly prices people are asking. £113 for 5 plates. Eesh! I will keep looking.

I didn't want to like the half-time show during the World Cup, it seemed like such an American thing but I loved it! My favourite part was definitely The Muppets appearing. I was not expecting that at all and it made me laugh.

Mine and Ellie's little adventure on the sculpture trial started with brunch! We decided to have something to eat before heading off and it was a lovely way to start our day. The food was only OK though. The sausages were too undercooked for my liking and the bacon was overdone. We didn’t let that spoil our day and we definitely walked off all the calories afterwards.

I don’t think my cherry tomatoes are actually cherry tomatoes! They are carrying on growing and growing but they are not turning red yet. I keep checking them hoping to see them changing colour but not yet. I do love growing things, even when it doesn’t always go exactly to plan.

It seems like years since I have had a butterfly cake! Ellie brought me one in and it took me straight back to being a kid. They were always a Sunday afternoon tea treat and a favourite at parties. It was a lovely little surprise and definitely brightened up my day.

I love the sunflowers in my garden. I always thought sunflowers moved to face the sun but mine are doing their own thing and pointing in all different directions. I read that young sunflowers do follow the sun but once they mature they usually face east. There's a little fun fact for you.

The farmers around here have been really busy harvesting their crops over the past couple of weeks. We've heard them at all hours doing their thing. It always amazes me how quickly it all happens. They were busy on Thursday and I passed by the field while they were combining. I ended up getting a mouthful of dust from the machines but I still had to stop and take a photo because it is such a fun part of living in the countryside.

Stu is planning on decorating the bathroom when he has some time off work next month. He has some big plans and has been ordering stuff in preparation. Instead of painting around the shower, he's ordered some PVC shower wall panels, so it'll look a bit different when it's finished. It's his project, so I'm quite happy to let him get on with it. The last couple of times the bathroom has been decorated, I've been the one doing all the work, so I'm more than ready to let him get on with it. It might be one of the smallest rooms in the house but it always seems to take the most work!

A photo every day for a year! 12th - 18th July Week 29 of #Project365

Happy Sunday!! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are enjoying your weekend. Ours has been a good week but a quiet one. Quiet is good and I am not complaining in the slightest.

Yesterday was just a normal Saturday. Meal deals for lunch for Ellie and I, I cracked on with the housework, got the washing done and even did some weeding in the garden as it was very cool. I am not saying cold because after the weather we've had over the last month or so I am glad for a break from the heat. I managed to get quite a bit done in the garden without feeling like I was melting! We don't have much planned for today apart from watching the Grand Prix and of course the World Cup final. I will be cheering for Spain to win, Vamos, Espana!!

Technically Sunday as it was after midnight when the England match finished. It was a late one because it went to extra time against Norway. I was definitely feeling it the next morning but it was worth staying up for. Jude Bellingham was fantastic throughout the whole tournament and especially at the end of the Argentina match when he slapped one of the players around the head. Hehehe. I know he probably shouldn't have done it but it did make me laugh.

We went to the all-you-can-eat place in Hull on Monday. We always have a bit of everything but my plate was mostly full of noodles, garlic mushrooms and Coca-Cola chicken! We realised it was a good deal on a Monday, £9 something for the food and then a few pounds extra each for a soft drink. We could have spent the same at McDonald's or somewhere else and felt hungry a few hours later. We were full for the rest of the day. I didn't eat anything apart from a couple of biscuits later on that evening.

I got a few things from Primark including this Bon Jovi T-shirt! It came from the men's section but fits just fine. I quite like looking in the men's section because band T-shirts are often better than the women's ones. There was a hoodie that I thought about buying but it was a cream colour, almost white and I don't do well with that colour as I am a muck magnet!

One of my sunflowers is now as tall as me, five foot five and a half! Lol. I don't think it has stopped growing either. Every time I go outside it seems to have gained another couple of inches. Everything seems to have shot up this week. Flowers, plants and my sweetcorn is almost as tall as the sunflowers!

A few Crimson Clovers appeared in my garden this week and the bees and butterflies are loving them. After Googling it, I read that it is one of the most popular cover crops, meaning it's planted between growing seasons to improve the soil and the soil in my garden can do with all the improvement that it can get.

My dad's cherry tree is looking fabulous at the moment and is full of cherries. He is going to pick me some over the weekend as we only noticed them as we were leaving and we were short on time. I'm already thinking about what I'll do with them. I'll probably eat most of them just as they are because they're one of my favourite fruits but if there are enough left, I might make a crumble or pop some into a pie!

As I write this, I am sat here watching Little House on the Prairie, the remake on Netflix and I am loving it. The scenery is beautiful, the cast work well together and it is just so wholesome. It has that feel-good factor that is quite hard to find these days.
