Yesterday didn't feel like a Saturday and I doubt today will feel like a Sunday but I am sure it will feel like Christmas Eve. I have a lot to do but I like Christmas Eve. I will cook the turkey and prepare all the veg for Christmas dinner then have a lovely soak in the bath. I was out yesterday tea-time getting some last minute bits because everything didn't arrive with the food shop. I had 30 substitutions some of which I sent back and 4 unavailable items. lol Walking to the shop I had a clear view of the wall in the centre of town.

Bags everywhere! #MySundaySnapshot
We're at that point in the run up to Christmas where my house feels in chaos. There's boxes and bags cluttering up my bedroom, bags of presents (wrapped and unwrapped one's) around the house and clutter everywhere. Hopefully by this time next week there will be more order to everything.
These bags were still in the living room yesterday after getting what was in them on Friday. There was no point taking them upstairs just to bring back down to wrap again. I will obviously get all the wrapping done before Christmas, I have to but I have no motivation to do it at the moment. I think I need the pressure of running out of time to get me busy. lol

Christmas stickers! #MySundaySnapshot
I bought some Christmas window stickers off Shein a couple of months ago, I remembered about them this week and I put them up. I love them.

Ice in the garden! #MySundaySnapshot
It certainly has got colder over the past week, each morning has been frosty but yesterday there was the most frost I have seen without it actually snowing! I thought someone had been through my back garden with silly string as all the spider webs had frozen! It looked pretty amazing!

My Harry Potter Christmas Tree! #MySundaySnapshot
Usually I let my family put up the Christmas tree but this year I took charge after getting some Harry Potter tree ornaments from Primark. When I bought it I only noticed the big baubles but not the glasses and golden snitches. It was a lovely surprise!

A Christmas Evening Out. #MySundaySnapshot
I am writing this a little after midnight last night, I am feeling on top of the world after having a good night out. The tree lights were switched on in town, there was no time for editing the photo, my bed was calling.

She had the time of her life. #MySundaySnapshot
Becky had a little adventure during the week and went to see the Dirty Dancing stage show in Hull. She said it was amazing, they did all the songs and memorable moments from the movies plus a few extra bits. She is now making a list of other things that she wants to see at the theatre, there are at least 3 theatre's just a bus ride from us so this could be the start of an expensive hobby.

Embracing all things Christmas. #MySundaySnapshot
Now that it's November it feels more acceptable to embrace all things Christmas and I have this week. I have been listening to Christmas songs off one of the music channels on TV, I have bought some gorgeous Harry Potter decorations for the tree, done more Christmas shopping, I've enjoyed a couple of glasses of Baileys and yesterday I started on watching Christmas movies! There's enough just on Netflix to keep me going right until Christmas day. hehehe

My little witches! #MySundaySnapshot
There are a lot of things that I dislike about Facebook but one of the things that I really love is the Memories feature which shows things you posted on that day from previous years.
On Friday this photo came up and I had to share it. It was the first year that the kids dressed up for Halloween and they were trying on their costumes that I had bought. It was also the day that Ellie walked for the first time. (She was 13 months old). We always joke now it was the magic of the witch costume that helped her take her first steps. hehehe

Another storm. #MySundaySnapshot
Stu and I usually sleep with our bedroom window open but on Wednesday night we had to shut it because of the wind and rain, it was keeping us awake. I was on the phone to my dad on Thursday and said that Storm Babet wasn't that bad, he laughed and said that was just the start of it and wasn't it just!
On Friday the rain was relentless! Thankfully Ellie and I had no plans, we spent the day inside, in our pyjamas just watching the rain fall. It was lovely!

A pretty sunset. #MySundaySnapshot
The darker nights are coming and I am looking forward to them, shutting the curtains and getting cosy on an evening. I did think about putting the heating on yesterday but then I had a soak in the bath which warmed me up. By the time my family was in and the doors were shut it was warm enough. It won't be long until the heating does go on and the clocks change and the sunsets will be coming earlier.

Things have changed! #MySundaySnapshot
When the Smyths catalogue used to come through the letterbox my girls used to fight over it, like actually fight just so they could see all of the toys and start writing their Christmas lists. Now they're older, things have changed. The catalogue was delivered a couple of weeks ago and they didn't even give it a second look. I was the one looking through and thinking to myself that years ago they would have loved this or that toy. Now they send me links to pages on websites of things that they would like or just whole Amazon wish lists. It is slightly easier for me but I do miss the days of them being children.

Anyone for apples? #MySundaySnapshot
My dad was given a box of apples and there was way too many for him so he took some and gave the rest to me. We have made apple pies, crumbles and jars of apple sauce now! What do you make with apples?

Conker season! #MySundaySnapshot
It's that time of year where all the horse chestnut trees around us drop their spiky cases to reveal their conkers. Ellie only went to the shop yesterday and came back with a handful. I will be expecting many more over the next few weeks, she does like collecting them.

Feeling short! #MySundaySnapshot
Over the last few weeks after having a couple of breaks away I have got some fantastic photos of me and my girls. I know we all look so alike, they hate that but I never realised how tall they had got until I saw this photo and realised Becky is officially taller than me now and Ellie isn't very far behind. It won't be long until I will be the shortest person in my family. lol

21 today! #MySundaySnapshot
Today is Becky's birthday, 21 today! Where has the time gone? She is the one that made me a mam and I couldn't be any more prouder of the amazing young woman she has become!
It sounds horrible to say but nothing much has happened in the last year of Becky's life. She is still working in a care home on permanent nights and loves it. She started driving lessons and then stopped as the instructor reduced her hours and has struggled to find a new instructor. She has a good bunch of friends who she spends loads of time with and sometimes it feels like I hardly see her between working and being out with her mates. I suppose that's what happens when our children grow up. hehehe
We started the celebrations yesterday and spent the night in a hotel in Hull just so we could go to the all you can eat place on the evening. (the buses are rubbish here). If all has gone to plan we have had a hotel breakfast and this afternoon we're going to the pub with family and we will probably have a takeaway tonight.

Being tourists! #MySundaySnapshot
We have had a lovely break away, we're still away and I have easily taken almost 1000 photos so this weeks photo has been so hard to choose. I went for this one.
We have been playing tourists in Newcastle, a town we used to live near but we never made the most of it because it was just there. It was nice to walk around visiting the parts that we never did. This was taken under the Tyne Bridge just as we got onto the Quayside, while my family were all taking photos of the river and bridges I took a photo of them. hehehe

Fake wasps! #MySundaySnapshot
My family and I call hoverflies fake wasps. Just glancing at them they look like wasps but they are much nicer. They don't have a sting which is good and they are just a lot less threatening. We have had loads in the garden over the last couple of months and this one came to pose for the camera. When I went to take a photo of the flower it wasn't there and landed just as I was ready to.

Hot dogs! #MySundaySnapshot
We love hot dogs here for tea, it's such an easy meal. We have levelled up with our hot dog making over the years. We used to use tinned hot dogs in normal bread buns but now we use big pork sausages and brioche buns of course with fried onions. I always leave Stu the job of putting the mustard and ketchup on, he does a way better job than me. hehehe

Donuts! #MySundaySnapshot
Every week I buy doughnuts, it's been a weekly treat for years. Some weeks I get jam one's and some weeks it's just sugar coated ring ones. Once in a while I will push the boat out and get custard or chocolate filled one's.
I had a bit of an indecisive moment when I was doing the online food shop this week, I couldn't decide on jam or ring donuts so ended up getting both! What a treat!
What's your favourite type of donut?
