I have had a fab week. I am over the tonsillitis and feel back to normal which works out great as it is Ellie's half term break from college and she is ready for it after working hard at college for the last few weeks, they're trying to finish everything off before the end of the college year which is just a month away. She had a couple of exams during the week and yesterday she said her English one went OK which is more positive than the last twice that she has taken it.
As I am sitting here yesterday writing this. It's grey, cloudy and it has been raining. Usually I complain about the rain but not this time, it seems ages since we have had any rain and my garden needed it! I could have done with being out there today doing some weeding but that can wait. I am enjoying a rainy day inside.
It's another bank holiday weekend and we have no plans at all. Everyone will be at home today and tomorrow and we're just going to stay home and probably spend too much time on computers and in front of the TV.
Now for a photo every day!
138/365 - 18th May.
Football on the TV. The second from last match of the season and Newcastle needed to win to go to 2nd place in the table. They lost. Hmmf. They're still 4th with the last game of the season today so it's not all bad, they have had a really good season.
139/365 - 19th May.
Duck keyrings! Ugh! Becky ordered these just after Christmas, one for her and Ellie and they only arrived this week. I am starting to wish they never arrived. Every time you press them down they quack and they are very annoying and the girls have been pressing them a lot!
140/365 - 20th May.
After Ellie had her practical lesson on Tuesday and half term coming up meant that she could get some fancy nails. I really couldn't function with nails that long but she seems to manage OK.
141/365 - 21st May.
Frothy coffee. I was taking a risk and had it mid-afternoon but I really fancied one and I thankfully I slept OK that night.
142/365 - 22nd May.
I stocked up on hair dye that should keep me going for a while! Someone keeps telling me that bright hair means I am having a mid-life crisis and only people under the age of 18 should have bright unnatural colours in their hair. hahaha Well I've been dying my hair bright colours since October 2019 so it must be an extended mid-life crisis. lol
143/365 - 23rd May.
The cherries are doing well on my dad's tree! I will not miss them this year, I will get some picked. The birds will not get them all this time.
144/365 - 24th May.
Grey skies and rain was very welcome here.
It's good to hear you are feeling better this week. The rain smelled amazing and it's done the garden the world of good.
ReplyDeleteColourful hair just like anything else is for everyone no matter their age, I just saw a lady at Aldi in the 70s with pink hair.
I hope you get some cherries before the birds, they strip the trees here in lessthan a day.
We had a cherry tree when I was growing up and it was a struggle to get to the cherries before the birds did- I hope you're successful and get them before the birds get to the cherries at your dad's. I LOVE rain in the spring and summer after I've planted my flowers and vegetable plants/seeds. That's great that you got some! I saw an older lady yesterday at the grocery store with pink hair- it's definitely a personal preference that has nothing to do with age!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better matey, that does not sound fun at all.
ReplyDeleteWe had a little rain and the garden is looking much better for it. It's more windy today though, but it normally is with three males in the house hehe!
I don't think it matters what age you are if you have colourful hair. You will always get the fun police dishing out their opinions. xx 😂
I missed last week's posts as my laptop was broken, so didn't realise you were poorly. Sorry to hear that, but glad that you're on the mend.
ReplyDeleteWhoever said that about the bright hair, is talking bollocks. If bright hair gives you joy, you can do it at any age. Don't listen to anyone's unsolicited advice.
We had rain as well, and the garden needed it. Hope you manage to have some cherries before the birds eat them all.
Ellie's nails looks stylish, but eek, I wouldn't be able to do anything (how does anyone even scratch one's nose with long nails?). :)
I'm so glad you're feeling better this week. Your hair is part of who you are - a fun part! Hope you have a lovely week. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThe cherries are so big! Mine are smaller. The nails are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could wear those nails either but I'm always impressed when I see others able to do things with them... I can't even text with them! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteYes we needed some rain. Typical for a bank holiday though lol. Those nails look impressive but I couldn't have them either. Are the duckeys battery powered? Hope so for your sanity lol
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a photo every day for a year - but that is way to ambitious for me. Keep it up, though! I'm sure your awareness of the world around you will increase as you progress through out the year. I love photography and it's impact on how I see the world!
ReplyDeleteOh I just LOVE Ellie's nails! We have been having so much rain that we're more surprised when it doesn't rain now. Here's hoping they get bored with their duckies very soon. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe nails are fab. I loved the rain for the garden, however it's half term now and I'm not loving it anymore.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. Those duck rings are funny, but I know they would annoy me too. I've been keeping track of the football thanks to Fantasy Football - I ended up 5th out of 11, but only 7 off 3rd place! Quite an achievement as I hadn't done it before like most of the others.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are feeling better again. Hope that Ellie’s results with her English exam will be what she’s hoping for. It has been good to have some rain – we’ve definitely needed it. I can imagine that the quacking duck keyrings get annoying very quickly! Love Ellie’s nails. People are funny with the things they say. Why shouldn’t you have bright colours in your hair if that’s what makes you happy, whatever your age. Hope you manage to get the cherries before the birds do. #project365
