A photo every day for a year! 12th - 18th October! Week 42 of #Project365

What. A. Week!! I was glad when the weekend rolled around, I could have hugged it and now it's almost over. Hmmf! This was Stu's full weekend off work for this month and it was nice for us all to be at home. It's not often that I say to the girls I want them to stay home but this weekend I put my foot down and said we're having a family weekend with no plans, no rushing about, no one disappearing off to friends houses, just us! Despite a little grumble from the girls because they had ideas about going to see a band they have had a good weekend so far and we still have the rest of today to go!

Now for a photo everyday!

Webs on the washing line and pea and ham soup
Leaves changing colour and fudge
Flowers and Neighbours on the TV
The Gousto box

285/365 - 12th October
The spiders have really been showing off lately. I’ve seen fewer of them in the house, thankfully but they’ve been very busy outside. I walk out the back door into webs, open the bins and they're covered and so is the washing line too. I was tempted to hang the washing out on Sunday but the idea of tackling all those webs put me off, thank goodness for the tumble dryer!

286/365 - 13th October
Soup season has arrived! This was the start of the pea and ham soup that we had on Monday. I had boiled the potatoes and onions and had just added the peas. It's not fancy, I just use frozen peas and it tastes so good! Even my pea hating girls will eat it!

287/365 - 14th October
The leaves are really starting to change colour here, finally! It seems to have taken a while and it's a lot cooler too! It's darker earlier on an evening and it really does look and feel like Autumn now!

288/365 - 15th October
The girls went to Hull Fair and came home with fudge for me! They said they thought of me when they saw it and it made me feel so loved that they actually think of me when they're out and about. It was good fudge, so soft and sweet!

289/365 - 16th October
A surprise little pop of colour appeared in the garden this week, some Sweet Alyssum flowers. I keep saying it but I am surprised that there are still flowers appearing so late in the year.

290/365 - 17th October
I had a catch up with the TV show Neighbours, I thought I better since it is ending again at the end of the year. I really can't understand how Amazon doesn't think it's worth it as it's always in the top 10 most watched thing on there!

291/365 - 18th October
One of my favourite parts of the week, unpacking the Gousto box. We have 3 meals for next week which I am looking forward to.

  1. Nice pictures from your week! Your girls thinking of you with fudge was so nice and I love that you have new sweet alyssum in your yard. My sweet alyssum are still bursting with their cute colors and general cuteness but I haven´t seen any new ones recently. The spiders have been busy- better there than inside but, yes, I´d be drying my clothes inside as well :).

  3. I'm glad you've had a nice family weekend together. It sounds like you needed after the week you have had.
Pea & ham soup is one of my faves, it's real comfort food.
The colours of the leaves have been amazing this week, although I noticed over the weekend that some trees seem to have sudddenly shed all their leaves overnight.

  5. Ah it was the fair here too. We're so much further ahead on the leaves, most have fallen now - at least the oak, horse chestnuts and sycamores etc, the ones that put on the colour show. Glad you got your family weekend.

  6. Thankfully, most of the few spiders I've come across in the house have been flattened my one of the cats' paws! :D

  7. You're so good at taking your photos. Ha I can remember watching Neighbours in the early days when the sets look like they were made from cardboard and then suddenly the whole set was replaced with Ramsey Street as it probably still is. (I haven't watched in years.) We have Hello Fresh this week - the contents of which will be a surprise because I forgot to skip in time or choose the meals. Definitely a Pot Luck week lol.

  8. I understand your feelings about spiders. They gross me out. The condos have little tiny neutral ones you like our front doors. I clean the door regularly and then overnight, they're back! #MMBC

  9. Too funny! I didn't even notice the spider webs on the clothespins when I first looked! I just thought the photo was one of some cool pop art! So cool!
