Our weekly meal plan! 12th - 18th December. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went well and I emptied the freezer almost. What was left I moved into the freezer under our fridge so we could get the big one defrosted ready for all of the Christmas food which we are getting tomorrow. By Friday there was all the ingredients left to make Spaghetti Bolognese including garlic bread so we had that and then the Bolognese in wraps on Saturday. We ended up going out for lunch on Sunday. Our favourite cafe locally is doing Christmas dinners and it would have been a shame not to try one. It was good.

Stu has more time off work before the Christmas rush this week and I am going to make the most of him being home. He thought he was going to have a lazy week but I have other ideas. He is going out Christmas shopping today, we are going shopping with my dad to get the turkey and all of the frozen food one day, on Wednesday we are going to wrap all of the presents for everyone, Ellie has her hearing aid fitted later this week, finishes school for Christmas on Friday and then we're having one last trip to town before Christmas to get some last minute presents and treats so it seems very exciting with lots going on.

This week I don't have much motivation or time for cooking so I will be keeping things simple. I am half expecting the meal plan not to go to plan but this time of year always seems hard to meal plan for me.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Soup with sandwiches to dip in.
Tuesday - Sweet & sour chicken balls with egg fried rice, spring rolls, prawn toast and prawn crackers.
Wednesday - Fish chips and mushy peas.
Thursday - Mac and cheese.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Eating out in town.
Sunday - No idea apart from I know it won't be a roast dinner as we'll be having the big one next week.

What are you eating this week?

  2. I'm jealous! I got ours 1/2 emptied but have nowhere else to put all our food... plus I think we have quite a few frozen things coming in tomorrow I'm going to have to put in there. I warned the boys I'm trying to make all our meals off of what I have on hand so I can empty that chest freezer out all the way. I only have a loose menu planned this week as it seems like 2 of us are going to be in and out a lot and I hate cooking when only a couple of us are going to be here to eat it (though I guess I really should get used to that!!)

  3. Oh don't start me on wrapping! I've got loads to do, but it's hard with the kids here all of the time.
Your meal plan looks yummy. I had soup the other day and I made some cheese on toast to dip in, it was amazing!
Best of luck to Ellie for her hearing aid fitting and I hope you have fun shopping in the town. xx
