Les Miserables!
One of the most iconic musicals in theatre history, Les Miserables is a powerful retelling of Victor Hugo’s novel. Set against the backdrop of revolutionary France, this show features unforgettable songs like "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," and "Do You Hear the People Sing?" A timeless classic that promises an emotional and theatrical experience like no other. I love watching the movie and I am always listening to the soundtrack!
Hamilton!
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton is a genre defying show that combines hip hop, jazz, R&B, and traditional musical theatre to tell the life story of Alexander Hamilton. With its fast paced delivery, brilliant choreography, and emotional depth, Hamilton is nothing short of revolutionary, both in its subject matter and its musical style. I was so late at getting into the hype about Hamilton, it was only after my youngest had been talking about it for months that I watched it off Disney+.
The Lion King!
For a truly magical theatre experience, nothing compares to The Lion King. Disney’s stunning adaptation of the beloved animated film is a visual and auditory feast. The ingenious puppet work, colourful costumes, and stirring music by Elton John and Tim Rice make this a must see show for audiences of all ages.
Wicked!
If you’ve ever wondered about the witches of Oz, Wicked will answer those questions in a way you never imagined. This musical, which tells the story of Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch), is a whimsical, heartfelt, and emotional tale about friendship, power, and destiny, with songs like "Defying Gravity" that are guaranteed to stick with you. I never got the hype about Wicked until I saw the movie in the cinema and now I really want to see the live show!

Set on a Greek island, Mamma Mia! is a light hearted, fun filled celebration of ABBA's greatest hits. With its infectious energy, catchy tunes, and delightful storyline, this musical will have you singing along and tapping your feet from start to finish. It’s a perfect pick me up for anyone in need of some joy and laughter.
The Phantom of the Opera!
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera is the epitome of grandeur, romance and mystery. Set in the Paris Opera House, this dark yet passionate tale of unrequited love is known for its hauntingly beautiful score, spectacular set design, and unforgettable moments. “The Music of the Night” will leave you mesmerised.

I didn't know about this until my girls told me all about it and I have become obsessed with the soundtrack!
The Book of Mormon!
This one is a new one to me, I saw it being advertised on the TV as it was shown in Hull. Created by the minds behind South Park, The Book of Mormon is a satirical, irreverent and downright hilarious musical. It tells the story of two Mormon missionaries in Uganda and mixes crude humour with heart warming moments and a fantastic score. It’s not for the faint of heart but promises laughs from start to finish.
Chicago!
An oldie but a goodie! Chicago is a Broadway classic that brings the glitz and glamour of the Jazz Age to life. Set in the corrupt world of Prohibition era Chicago, the musical follows two women who find themselves in a murder trial, using the media to their advantage. With sizzling jazz tunes like "All That Jazz," this show is full of wit, style, and intrigue.
Frozen!
Disney's Frozen brings the beloved animated movie to life on stage. With its unforgettable songs, including “Let It Go,” and stunning visual effects, this show is a magical experience for all ages. The world of Arendelle is brought to vivid life with gorgeous costumes and a heart warming story of sisterly love.
What would you like to see at the theatre?
I love live theater!! We have Broadway in Birmingham where the shows come through. I've seen Wicked three times, the Lion King, Hamilton, and Mama Mia. I loved all of them! Le Mis is in town right now, but I don't think it is going to work out so that I can go.
