What I have loved this week! Week 25. #FridayFavourites

We have had a lovely week which has revolved around a lot of family time which I am going to write more about tomorrow. It has been so warm here even though most days have been cloudy, too warm for my liking and it's set to be even hotter today! Today I am of course linking up with Erika and Andrea to share the things that I have loved over this past week.

What I have loved this week

Ginny & Georgia!
I started watching the newest season and forgot a lot of what had happened so I decided to go back and watch it from the beginning. My youngest Ellie had the same idea. We only have the basic subscription which is usually just fine but over the last week we're having to share it. I get the daytime and she gets the evening! Anyway back to Ginny & Georgia, there was so much I forgot from the first season so I am glad I'm rewatching. I love Georgia, I would love to be as funny and as witty as her!

Schools out for summer! (Almost)
My youngest has finished her lessons at college. She and a lot of her classmates found out the hard way. They turned up one day during the week, got changed in their overalls only to be told there's nothing else to do and they were free to go. It wasn't too bad for Ellie as could hang out with friends but other's weren't happy as they had a wasted morning travelling to college, only to travel home again. She has one more day in next week, I don't even think it will be a full day as there's just some paperwork to do, lockers to empty and overalls to bring home to wash then the summer can officially start.

Strawberry Trifle!

Limp Bizkit!
I don't think I have listened to the band Limp Bizkit for about 20 years but my girls and I got talking about the festivals that are on over the summer and the metal band Limp Bizkit are headlining one and I mentioned how I used to love them, it turns out my girls have a few of their songs on their Spotify playlists so we went through more of the songs to see how many they knew (more than I thought) but I got cool mum points for being able to sing a long to a lot of them. hehehe I shouldn't be proud with all the bad language included but 20 year old me would have been so happy my girls know and like Limp Bizkit.

A cool house!
Usually I complain about our house being old but now that the weather is warming up I sure do appreciate it as it's so cool in here. I don't know the how's and why's but compared to outside, it is bliss! I actually shivered when I came in from putting the washing out on the line as it was such a change in temperature. Air conditioning is not a thing here in the UK, we don't get hot weather long enough to justify it but I have found that opening the windows upstairs get's the breeze coming off the fields if I leave the living room door open it drifts in here. As of writing this yesterday was the hottest day of the year here with some places in London hitting 32C which is 89F.

A Newton's Cradle!

Newton's Cradle

My fella has always wanted a Newton's Cradle but would never buy himself one as he though it was just as waste of money but they girls got him one for Father's Day and it made him so happy! The constant clicking I can hear from the other room is annoying but he is happy!

Uber Eats!
I feel like we have been the last place to get Uber Eats deliveries and over the last year more and more food places and shops have been added to the list of places that deliver to us. Yay! On Sunday Stu was promised a takeaway but we fancied something different to the usual Chinese takeaway or pizza so we got a delivery from Burger King. It was a one off treat, reserved for special occasions as it's so expensive but it did taste so good!

What have you loved over the last week?

  1. That's cool (wink, wink) that your house stays cool without AC. I grew up in an old farmhouse that did not have AC. It's something that wasn't so bad except on the hottest of summer days. I guess the sound of the Newton Cradle would be something you really like or really find annoying? At any rate, it's nice that Stu got one since he fancied one! Have a great weekend!

  2. Hooray for summer holidays!! Brrrr–it's so cold over here, winters in Australia are so bad because we have terrible insulation and no central heating in our houses. We wear jackets inside the house! The summer trifle looks delicious, and how wonderful to get Uber Eats! I agree–it's so expensive! We also save it for special occasions.

  3. There's nothing like a cool house in the summer and having to don a sweatshirt! I tried starting season 3 of G and G and I am lost, too. But, I am not sure I want to commit to going back!

  4. I watch British TV shows all the time here, on Acorn and Britbox, but haven't heard of Ginny & Georgia. I'll do a search!! We are full-on with our summer heat and humidity, and temps are in the mid 90s (F) all the time now. I can't imagine life without AC. Have a fun weekend!!

  6. That strawberry trifle looks delicious! I don't know if we have Uber eats round here; I've never looked. If we do I know it's not very popular as I never hear about it.

  8. Oh goodness... I forgot all about a Newton's Cradle but now I want to get one, too! LOL! Thanks for the recommendation of Ginny & Georgia, too - I've been wondering if I'd like that one! Have a good week!
