I've had a good week, being busy but not anything really exciting. It has been a bit of a mismash of a week with electrical difficulties, job hunting for Stu, a day spent with Becky, just pottering about the house and telling everyone who'll listen about my giant cucumber. lol
We have had a quiet weekend as next weeks see's the start of birthday season in our house, Stu's and the girls birthdays are all in the space of 25 days. Eek! I think we are just about all sorted for them though, I do need to buy some cards during the week and then we just have to enjoy celebrating.
Now for a photo every day!
215/365 - 3rd August
I was watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer on Sunday, just some of my favourite episodes and The Gentlemen with never not give the me the creeps! That whole episode Hush is scary as most of it has no talking, just suspenseful music playing.
216/365 - 4th August
My giant cucumber, grown from a seed and it tasted delicious! I picked it later on in the week, sort of in a panic that it might go bad being almost on the ground. You can see a photo of it sliced on my Friday post, we ate it with a salad we had for tea.
217/365 - 5th August
Iced Rich Fruit Cake and in a couple of months it will be repackaged, a couple of pounds added to the price and will be called Christmas cake. lol I still love the stuff.
218/365 - 6th August
Just a sunflower in my garden on a sunny day! Hasn't the weather been nice over the last couple of days. It feels like summer has returned again. I can't even measure the tallest sunflower in my garden anymore as it's too tall and I can't reach. I might have to get Becky to measure it as she has longer arms than me.
219/365 - 7th August
It was a bit rainy, I had to run and shut all the bedroom windows as the rain was coming in. Ellie had a day at home and there were no limits on screen time. She spent the afternoon gaming with friends.
220/365 - 8th August
I had to look twice at my dad's vacuum, it looked like a Henry Hoover but was called Numatic. It turns out Numatic and Henry are related. hahaha Numatic is the company who makes the Henry vacuums. I did not know that until Friday. You learn something new every day!
221/365 - 9th August
While looking for jobs for Stu I found my dream job, a dream as in it's never going to happen. A UK wrestling promotion is looking for all the staff! I would love to be a wrestling commentator and could be quite good at it, I always have a lot to say when watching it on TV. So for those who think anything Wrestling doesn't pay and is a fake career the jobs are on the Indeed website. lol
Great pictures from your week! Lovely cuke and sunflower! I love fruit cake. My mom used to make it homemade at Christmas time. It gets a bad rep over here as being gross but I loved it whenever my mom made it. The WWE job sounds perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteBirthday season sounds exciting! We have a month like that in November with birthdays really close together and then Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very impressive cucumber, fresh from the garden I bet it tasted much better than store bought.
We had a mad dash to close the windows earlier in the week, the rain and wind were wild.
I've enjoyed the cooler weather but we have a heatwave on the way much to my dismay.
There's nothing better than fresh cucumbers from the garden! The shot of the sunflower is beautiful! Have a great week!

So, are you applying for that job with the wrestling programing? Love the sunflower! I'm not a fruitcake lover but will eat a piece during the holidays if it is served. I do love cucumbers!! Wishing you a great week ahead!!
ReplyDelete3 birthdays is exciting. I thought it's Henry until I read your description. That job does sound perfect for you, you love wrestling.
ReplyDeleteThat cucumber looks huge! Glad it was tasty. The Rich Fruit Cake looks yummy too. My hubbie likes to buy malt loaf when we visit the UK.
ReplyDeleteFresh from the garden cucumber is a dream for me. Your fruit cake looks good too. I've never had one iced though. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI'm finally catching up with my favorite blogs after being away and spending 10 days with my granddaughters (the Littles)! That cucumber of yours is gigantic - reminds me of ou ryoungest granddaughter. While tending the garden during my visit, my daughter would hand Little P a tiny cuc to nibble on! You have a busy month ahead with 3 birthdays! Here's to all the fun to come!
ReplyDeleteThat is a giant cucumber! The vacuum face is adorable. Kind of makes me want to glam out our vacuum.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it will be busy over the next few weeks with birthday season! Lovely to have home-grown cucumber and your sunflower is beautiful. I never seem to have much luck trying to grow tall ones. That wrestling job does sound perfect for you! #project365
