May your star shine bright Matilda Mae!!

I am so new to blogging compared to a lot of others out there.....But I have been amazed over the last few weeks as to all the 'bloggers' have come together to support a family going through the worst of times...

I had read Edspire.co.uk for quite a while (Jennie's blog) and seen her tweets as @Edspire but never did expect to read what I did on 'that' day on twitter!

"Our beautiful daughter Matilda Mae was taken from us last night to join the angels in the sky x RIP Beautiful angel daughter x We love you x"

Matilda Mae was exactly 9 months old.....That day she had learnt to crawl......Then she was gone!!

I cannot even try to imagine how the family is feeling....

Twitter has been amazing tonight....It really has!! Everyone seems to be pulling together for one cause... Quite a lot of people had changed their avatar to the picture above....Matilda's Star! The thinking being if enough people do it then Jennie’s timeline will be full of little stars for Matilda Mae....Showing people are there for her and care even if they cannot be there in person!!

Matilda Mae's funeral is tomorrow at 10.15am!

May your star shine bright
Matilda Mae!!
Sleep tight little girl!!
So young....Yet she has touched so many lives!
Thoughts from our family to yours x

Pocket Money For Chores....

A new survey from PHTMNY has revealed the top ten chores or tasks children do to earn their pocket money.

They are:

1. Tidying their bedroom
2. Filling up and emptying the dishwasher, doing washing up and clearing the dishes
3. Being well behaved
4. Doing homework and practice/revision
5. Hoovering
6. Looking after pets
7. Cleaning a room (other than their bedroom)
8. Doing laundry
9. Putting out recycling and rubbish
10. Washing the car

When it comes to how much pocket money parents give to children for completing chores, the most is given for washing the car or looking after pets: £3.57 for a car wash and £2.30 to look after pets.

The going rate for tidying a bedroom is £1.47 while £1.06 is given for filling up and emptying the dishwasher, doing washing up and clearing the dishes.

On average, parents give 8 to 14 year olds £6.17 per week starting with £3.90 per week for 8 year olds, rising to £6.54 for 10 year olds, and £7.88 for 12 year olds....

Well my girls have their jobs to do.....They get £1 for tidying their rooms....50 pence for putting their clean clothes away out of the wash baskets and 50 pence a day for tidying their toys up downstairs before they go to bed....

They can earn extra money by doing extra jobs....Which are their choice whether to do or not such as pairing all the socks together...emptying the washing machine....dusting or hoovering....Jobs they like to do anyway!!

I think it's important to teach them they have to work for something they want and not just get it given!

Easter sorted thanks to Poundland...

I love Poundland.....I keep saying it but I really do!! This time they've come up trumps and now we're all set for Easter!! I only went in for cleaning stuff and ended up with 3 bags full...lol

 We got....

Then I saw the baking stuff which I could not resist getting...I got 2 of each...The cupcake sets, easter egg moulds & cookie cutter sets!!

Then onto the crafty things....Got the girls each a set of the make your own felt puppets, the paint your own Easter decoration, a make your own Easter bonnet & some Easter cards to make....

And then finally some extra little treats....Which were on offer for 2 for £1....

Then the smaller things will be put into a giftbag....Also two for £1

They have quite a lot of Easter products in....I'm sure more than last year....I suggest you go sooner rather than later....Before it all sells out because once it's gone, it's gone!!
