What I've been watching....

This week has been ok....We haven't been up to much really....Nothing majorly exciting has happened....We've just been plodding along with life but everything is good.....

This week I seemed to have watched a lot of TV....I usually have the TV on in the background but this week I've actually sat and watched lots....So of course my word has to be....

 

We started the week watching the first episode of the new series of The Walking Dead....I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but wow!! Carol is amazing!! I screamed at the tv and I cried....

I can't wait for Monday to watch more but I'm guessing the next episode will be a bit calmer after the excitement of the first episode!

I have spent my days this week watching the Oscar Pistorius sentencing.....They've discussed it for the last 4 days and today is supposed to be the last day as the judge has other commitments for the next 3 weeks......It better not get postponed again because from November the 1st the ENCA African news channel I watch it on is being removed from Sky....I will be so annoyed if I don't see the end as I've watched the whole trial.....

It's so annoying for years Oscar Pistorius has pleaded for people to treat him the same as someone without disabilities yet when it comes to court his defence it is that prison would not be safe for him....Someone who is disabled!! He needs to pay for what he has done!! I found myself nearly crying on Wendesday....Reeva Steenkamp's cousin took to the stand to speak up for the family....It was heartbreaking!!

The Apprentice started this week.....Yay! I love Alan Sugar....The way he insults people is just brilliant! The wearable technology task....Oh my they were useless.....I'm rooting for Katie....Only because she is a North East lass....hehehe

I found myself shouting at Emmerdale earlier in the week when Charity's kidnapper was revealed and I can't wait for Rob to be caught out on Corrie.....It must be coming up soon as it's nearly the end of the trial...

Oh, oh and if you watch Corrie.....On Wednesday did you see the little I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here advert.....The kids heard it and shouted Ant and Dec in the jungle....I don't know why they love it so much they hardly watch it.....lol

Stand up to Cancer is on Channel 4 tonight....I know it's going to be emotional one minute and hilarious the next....I love shows like this....

I love Halloween and of course I dress my girls up...I have done since they were babies....

I was looking at costumes for them recently and couldn't help looking at the babies costumes....Some of them are so cute & I'm sure when Becky was a baby 11 years ago there was nothing half as good on offer.....

The Shelf of Shame....

We all have somewhere that attracts rubbish in our homes....

We have the Shelf of Shame.....

I was going to title this post the Shelf of something else but I try not to swear on here....hehehe

What is supposed to be on here are my books, the purple glass things, air freshener, dvds and the kids books on the bottom shelf....That's it!! It was clear on the morning and like this by mid afternoon.....Grrr!

 

When I ask the kids to tidy up anything they quickly can't find a home for gets dumped....

• A tin with a card game in which belongs in the toy drawer or one of the girls bedroom....
• 3 plastic tubs which should be in the kitchen cupboard....
• A joke book which should be on the bottom shelf....
• A DS which needs plugged in and charged....
• A purse...Ellie's which should be in her room....
• Hair bobbles belong in the bathroom or on the fireplace with the others....We even have a box just for hair bobbles....
• The stripy bouncy ball isn't a bouncy ball.....It's in fact a planet which should be hanging from Ellie's bedroom ceiling....
• The tablet should be on the TV stand where it belongs not on the shelf waiting to be knocked off again....
• Toy doctors pliers....Should be in the toy drawer....
• And lots of other bits which should be most probably be in the bin....

Don't get me started on the bottom shelf....You can only see a little of it but those books were sorted out at the weekend... There are now sheets of paper, Argos catalogues and heaven knows what else on there....

Please tell me I'm not the only one with shelves like this which seem to attract things which don't belong?

Science 4 You 2D Puzzle - Solar System - Review!!

Today I have another Science 4 You product to share with you....This time we were reviewing the: 

2D Puzzle - Solar System

Ellie has always had a thing about space and the planets....From when she was a toddler she was always fascinated with the moon.....She has the planets hanging down from her ceiling and she made sure they were put in a line in the right order.....She was in her element when she was in Year One at school and they did a whole big topic about space.....Her favourite song was the planet song....That's what we call it anyway.

 
As well as the fantastic 80 piece jigsaw puzzle there is also a 16-page book filled with lots of information about space and all of the planets telling you things such as how many planets are in the Solar System, if the Sun is a star or a comet, earth and Sun - which revolves around which, how many moons orbit around mars and what is the biggest planet of the Solar System....Very interesting. So interesting that as I write this Ellie is reading it in bed...

Ellie got straight on with with the jigsaw....

This was a great puzzle.....It took Ellie well over half an hour and a tiny bit of help from me to complete this jigsaw but she enjoyed every moment and I know she felt so chuffed with herself when she had finished....

It is very well made and a lot bigger than I expected it to be.....It is suggested that it is aimed at children aged 6 and plus.....Ellie is 7 and managed well but this would be great for children a lot older too.....

 This jigsaw costs £6.99 which I think is very reasonable......You can buy it via the Science 4 You website and of course their Amazon Shop.....
