This week my Word of the Week is: Sleep!! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

My word of the week is sleep

I have had such a good week, it has been a busy one which has revolved around me trying to get enough sleep. Weeks ago, in the middle of March I mentioned in my Easy #WotW post that we were going to have a busy, tiring weekend. This past weekend was that weekend!

On Saturday Becky and I went away for the night, we went to see Whitney - The Candlelight Concert! It was such a lovely evening, we had food and a few drinks before and then stopped off at a couple of bars before we went back to the hotel to sleep. We didn't want to sleep though, it was the first night of the WWE's big Wrestlemania event which started at midnight. We said we would watch the first match off Netflix and then go to sleep. So there we were at around half past midnight, both sat in a single bed, watching the wrestling on Becky's phone eating sausage rolls. lol

We actually had more sleep than we thought we would, sleeping from about 1am until about 9am and felt as fresh as daises, no sore heads for us after a few cocktails the night before. We had breakfast, well Becky did. (that is a whole different story for another day) and we got the bus home to catch up on Friday nights wrestling show. We watched that and then Becky wimped out and decided she needed to have some more sleep so went for a nap. I joked saying sleep is for the weak. hehehe

We caught up on night one of Wrestlemania on Sunday evening all ready to stay up and watch night two! It started at midnight and didn't finish until just before 4am. I was so surprised, I was tired of course but not falling asleep towards the end of the show like I thought I would be. As soon as my head hit my pillow I was fast asleep though. The next morning our food shop was delivered early but Stu dealt with it and even came and switched my alarm clock off so I could have a little more sleep.

I was in bed early on Monday night, trying to get my sleeping pattern back to normal and it has been a struggle especially when I had a little lie in on Tuesday morning before I went to my dad's but I think the walk there and fresh air did me some good as well as catching up on all of the housework that I didn't do over the weekend.

Wednesday was a shock to the system with Ellie going back to college after almost 3 weeks off for her Easter break and the half past six alarm clock going off, I might have said a few naughty words when I was woken up. I wanted to sleep more but my alarm clock was saying no.

Now I feel back on track with my sleeping although I am hoping to have had a little lie in this morning.

How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!

  1. I don't think I'd cope well with my sleep pattern being disrupted like that. I have averaged just over 6 hours a night this week which is good for me though. Hope you got a lie in today.

  2. It sounds like you had a lovely time away with Becky, so nice that you got to spend some quality time together. I've seen those candlelight events advertised and they look amazing, there's a Coldplay one coming soon local to us.
I'm glad you got to stay awake to watch Wrestlemania, I hope your favourites won!

  3. The candlelight Whitney evening sounds fun. I keep seeing these advertised and maybe I'll book one soon. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. Nice to book a room in town rather than rushing home. My sleep pattern is all over the place at the moment, so I can understand why you were determined to get it back on track. Hope you have a lovely week.

  5. What a wonderful time away with Becky! I can picture the two of you watching WWE and eating sausage rolls—sounds like such fun and yummy times! I’m glad to hear your sleep is back on track. I had to sort mine out before going back to work today. No fun at all!

  6. I can't cope with a disrupted sleep pattern but it happens nonetheless. We are just starting to get back into a sleep pattern. The Little Man is back at school tomorrow, It's going to be tough. x

  8. So glad you had a lovely night away with Becky. That’s lovely that Stu was able to deal with the food shop so you could sleep in for a little longer after staying up to watch the wrestling. Getting back to early mornings and routines is a bit of a shock to the system after having a break. Hope you’re all adjusting to it again now. #WotW
