Speed up the morning routine!

On a morning we always used to be in a mad rush finding misplaced bags or shoes....Becky too busy watching tv....Ellie eating her breakfast at a snails pace....

Here's some idea's to speed the morning routine up a bit!!

 Get a Timer!

If you have a child who can easily spend fifteen minutes in a shower or take five minutes to put on one sock, try using a timer to get your slow coach on the move....Kids naturally love to make a game out of things....If you challenge them to beat the clock, they'll be less likely to daydream and become distracted while getting ready...My two girls are so competitive....They like to beat the clock!

Stick to regular morning routines!

Sticking to the same morning routine day after day will speed things up because they will be more likely do what they need to do without any reminders. Our routine is get out of bed, get washed, get dressed, have breakfast, teeth brushed, coats on and out the door! As long as we stick to it...It works brilliantly!!

Check out the weather forecast the night before!

That way, you can make sure the wellies, umbrellas and coats are ready by the door if the forecast calls for rain or thick coats if the temperatures are supposed to drop....

Pack up beforehand!

Have your child get their school bag ready the night before. Homework, library books, anything that needs to be taken to school should be in their bag...Designate a spot near the door for bags, shoes and jackets....

Make lunches ahead of time!

Sandwiches can easily be made the night before. You can also put fruit, cheese, drinks water bottle, or whatever else will be going into the lunch bag together on a shelf in the fridge. That way, you can save precious extra time by not having to look for each item in the morning.

Back to School....

Ahhh the kids go back to school today.....

I think this is the first time in few of years I haven't been stressing....

Last year was Ellie going into Year 1.....Into proper school away from the security of her little bubble which was reception class....Queuing up to go into school with the big kids....Having to do proper school work and playing out at playtime with the big kids....

The year before she started reception class....The first time being in school for a full day.....Away from me all day!!

The year before she was starting nursery.....The first time away from me....

Today Ellie goes into Year 2 and Becky goes into Year 6!!

Nothing really special about starting these years....They're both used to school....I'm used to them being at school...

This time next year I will be an emotional wreck!! Becky will be starting High school // Secondary school whatever you want to call it.....It will go back to one of my babies having to go to school with kids much older and bigger then her.....A massive school to find her way around and such a different environment then the primary school she is in now...But I have a year before that happens....

I'm going to enjoy this school year and make the most of having both of my girls at the same school because next time it will happen is when Ellie goes to the high school....She'll be starting Year 7 and Becky starting Year 11!! Eek!! Then I'll have the worry Ellie being one of the youngest in the school and Becky taking her GCSE's and leaving school....

Good luck to all the little one's starting school and the little big ones starting high school and the even bigger one's starting college....

Every year for years I've always done the girls a party tea on their birthdays....It was Ellie's birthday on Thursday we went out for lunch and by tea time we were still quite full from lunch so we just had cake...So Saturday we had a huge party tea....hehehe
