Gel-a-Peel Deluxe Rainbow Kit Review! #MySchoolSuppliesSoMe

I have read about Gel-a-Peel for a good few months now and it has caught Ellie's eye too. When I asked her if she wanted to review some she said "yes, I've seen it and always wanted to try it!".

We weren't just sent a Gel-a-Peel set to try, we were being set a challenge to jazz up some school supplies. A multicoloured ring binder, psychedelic note book and pencil case with Gel A Peel. School doesn’t have to be plain notebooks, dreary ring binders and lacklustre pencil cases!

Your imagination and design skills are as endless as a rainbow with the Gel-a-Peel Mega Rainbow Kit! Use a rich palette of 10 different colours to make over 150 one-of-a-kind accessories to wear or share with your friends! Includes 50+ design templates to follow along, or design your own. Colours include Sparkle Seafoam, Sparkle Fuchsia, Sparkle Coral, and Glow in the Dark Pink.

Gel-A-Peel can be used to customise almost anything! The gel formula sticks to most household fabrics and surfaces, allowing you to create endless personalised designs!

Ellie was keen to get started and started with decorating the notebook. Like I said it was our first time using Gel-a-Peel and we found it simple to use. It was just a case of squeezing it onto whatever we wanted.

The kit comes with different nozzles to put on the tubes of gel-a-peel which gave different effects. Think icing nozzles.

Ellie got on really well with it. She didn't go too overboard squirting too much out like I expected her too. She used a different type of nozzle on the pencil case and it looked really pretty and of course had to get something to do with unicorns included. hehehe

Challenge complete! I think she did a great job at decorating her school supplies. They were cool to start with but now have a little more "Ellie" about them.

As much as I liked Ellie decorating her things I did want to have a go at making some bracelets. I have seen them made on YouTube and other blogs and wanted to see how we did.

They were so simple to make. You just squeezed the gel onto the template and made sure the different colours all touched so when you peeled them off they stuck together.

I thought there was no way in the world that these would work but amazingly they did! We left them for a good hour or so to set just to be sure. Hooray! Ellie was so impressed with them and I was too.

The finished bracelets.

Ellie has already added more Gel-a-Peel to her Christmas list. I think it is fantastic for children of her age (11). She managed to do everything herself and her only trouble came with waiting for the gel to dry and set.

Gel-a-Peel isn't messy at all. I thought it would be but Ellie kept it all where it should be and any that was misplaced was easily peeled off when it dried.

The Gel-a-Peel Deluxe Rainbow Kit costs £39.99 and even though it seems expensive I think it is worth it. The gel takes quite a while to use and we still have plenty left even after everything we did with it.

This is one of those things that I would have worried about buying Ellie for Christmas in case it didn't live up to the hype but now I know I can buy it, wrap it, put it under the tree for her and we will be happy with it.

We were sent this free of charge to try out. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Let's talk about Boobs! #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

Throughout October I will be joining in with Big Family Organised Chaos and her linky for Blogtober18. Today's prompt is: Boobs!

A pink bra and the text Lets talk about boobs

Boobs come in all shapes and sizes. I have biggish boobs and sometimes I love them and sometimes I don't...Most of the time they are in my way but they do have their advantages....

The Pros.

There is always someone who wish they have half of what you’ve got.
Even a big belly doesn’t look big because the breasts stick out more.
You give the best hugs!
Some dresses are just made to be filled out at the top.
They are attention grabbers!
No need for push-up bras or inserts!!
Boobs can act like a makeshift shelf. You can rest an assortment of different things on them from a bowl of cereal to your remote control.
You can use your boobs to make space for yourself in a crowd.
Everyone can read what is written on your T-shirt.
Effortless cleavage!!

But on the flip side. The Cons

Hugging becomes pretty awkward because your boobs reach the person before your arms do.
Having to hold your boobs as you walk down the stairs or run!
Your towel can never be securely wrapped around your chest!
You can pretty much never go without a bra!!
Bra's are more expensive.
People ask what size bra you are. Rude!
Seatbelts and cross body bags are the enemy!!
Boob sweat is a thing!!
Backache!
Your friends tell you how they wish they had your problem.
Strapless tops are just impossible!

I have a reason for talking about boobs. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, one person is diagnosed every 10 minutes. 1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and this Breast Cancer Awareness Month around 5,000 people will be diagnosed. Every year around 11,400 people die from breast cancer in the UK....

BUT Breast cancer survival is improving and has doubled in the last forty years in the UK and almost 9 in 10 women survive breast cancer for five years or more.

Everyone’s breasts are different so get to know how your breasts normally look and feel. Checking your breasts regularly and knowing what you’re looking for is your first step in beating breast cancer.

You should see your doctor if you have any of these symptoms:

A change in the size, shape or feel of a breast.
A new lump or thickening in a breast or armpit.
Skin changes such as puckering, dimpling, a rash or redness of the skin.
Fluid leaking from a nipple and you aren't pregnant or breastfeeding.
Changes in the position of a nipple.
Breast pain.

Many symptoms of breast cancer, such as breast pain or a lump may in fact be caused by normal breast changes or a benign (not cancer) breast condition.

Some people think that having breast cancer will cause other symptoms apart from a breast change such as feeling tired, having less energy or weight loss but this is not the case. If you notice a change, even if you feel well, it’s important to visit your GP!!

This is what we're eating this week. #MealPlanningMonday

Last weeks meal plan went really well. We ate everything apart from the Minced Beef Hotpot. Becky was off school after being sick and after she was sick it put me off food for the day. I ended up having cereal for tea, Becky had scrambled eggs on toast and Ellie had cheese on toast. They loved it. Fancy planned meals are good but sometimes just eating what we want is just as good.

Ellie is out at a school disco this week so she will have to have a snack when she gets in from school at 3pm (they finish early on a Wednesday) then something when she gets home later on. She has made us promise not to eat anything amazing without her because Becky said we are going to get a takeaway while she's out. Eesh! Why do they always have to wind each other up.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday - Beef & ale stew. I am using the Schwartz slow cooker mix which I've never used before but they sound nice.
TuesdaySweet & sour chicken & rice..
Wednesday - Baked sweetcorn fritters with potato wedges.
ThursdaySausages, mash, veg & onion gravy.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Bbq pulled pork in buns.
Sunday - Pies, mash & veg.

All About Me! Day 1 of #Blogtober18

Throughout October I will be joining in with Big Family Organised Chaos and her linky for Blogtober18....Today's prompt is: All About Me / A Year On

If you read my blog you know who I am and for those of you who don't read regularly, why?. lol For those who don't read regularly I'm Kim, a nearly 40 year old from a small town in Northumberland called Ashington. I have two girls. Becky (16) and Ellie (11). I also live with my fella who's called Stu. Nice to meet you!

A photo of me

This is my 3rd year joining in with Blogtober. I love it. I am hoping to keep my streak up by blogging every day with the prompt given. I am such a swot. hehehe

I have been blogging daily for nearly 6 years so I have written about a lot of things but with joining in with Blogtober I am given ideas for blog posts and write about things that wouldn't normally blog about. It is also great because I always used to hit a slump when it came to ideas for blog posts at this time of year. September is always for writing about my girls birthdays, going back to school and the summer and it seems too early to blog about Christmas just yet.

Since I last joined in with last years Blogtober not much has actually changed in our lives. Well nothing major anyway. We are still in the same house, Stu still has the same job and I am a stay at home mam. For the girls a lot has changed. Becky is in her last year of secondary school and Ellie in her first which I will be blogging more about in a few days.

I can usually be found on Twitter which is my favourite social media platform where I am usually moaning about the weather, my kids and my neighbours.....

I can't wait to read the rest of the posts linked up and hopefully find a whole new heap of blogs to follow.

Are you new to Blogtober?
