I have finally had my Covid vaccine! Hooray!

The injection was painless and as of writing this at half ten last night I am not feeling 100%. It's nothing to worry about, just the normal side effects from what I have read. I feel shivery and achy so I am taking myself off to bed. I have a couple of days with nothing planned so I can lay on the sofa and stuff my face with Easter eggs. hehehe

Week 13 of #Project365. 27th March - 2nd April. A photo every day for a year!

We have had a pretty busy week. A hospital appointment and with the lockdown restrictions easing we've had a visits to my dad and Becky's girlfriend came for a visit in the garden. It has been a hectic but good week. I am glad we have a few days with no plans so we can just relax and enjoy the Easter holidays.

The sunshine was lovely early in the week but the last couple of days have felt a lot like winter. Hmmf. Just typical that as soon as Ellie finished school the weather has turned.

86/365 - 27th March

I got my invite to go for my Covid vaccination. I am going to get it today. I am excited but dreading any side effects.

Ice cream! Yum, yum! It was on offer in Iceland. 2 for £5 which I thought was a bargain. 

88/365 - 29th March

Becky had a check up on her heart, all is good and on the way home we called in Sainsbury's and saw this cake which was reduced. £12 down to £3.99. I had to get it. 

89/365 - 30th March

I decided that I wanted another area to grow stuff in the garden so I got digging. The stone slabs were hidden under the grass which was there. Being out in the garden gave me a good excuse to keep an eye on Becky and her girlfriend too. They were on their best behaviour though and kept their distance.

90/365 - 31st March

Ellie brought home an Easter egg from school. She was given it for great work in Design and Technology since she went back to school. I am so proud of her.

91/365 - 1st April

My girls and I went to visit my dad and he isn't one to just sit around and chat so he had us doing some painting. It was nice spending some time with him even if it did mean I got covered in paint.

92/365 - 2nd April

Becky just passing through the living room. We had a lazy day just playing on computers and watching TV. I managed to write a few blog posts and catch up with Emmerdale.

This week my Word of the Week is: Visit! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

This past week was a busy one for me and my family. I have probably spent more time outside over the past 5 days than I have in the last 3 months.

I got a text on Saturday inviting me to visit the local GP's surgery for my Covid vaccine. I am going tomorrow. Eek! Both Becky and Stu got away with hardly any side effects after their vaccine so I am worried I will get their share. 

On Monday Becky and I had a visit to the hospital for her yearly check up on her heart. Last week in my word of the week I said how I was worried about her finding the right department. The worry was for nothing, I went in with her and showed her where to go and went to the desk with her and the man behind the reception said I could wait with her as they weren't busy. Phew! She went in and had the scan on her heart and that was it. The nurse said there was nothing to worry about with her heart, nothing life threatening anyway. She could see the leaky valves but it was up to the doctor to discuss with us. They're not doing face to face appointments at the moment and we should expect a phone call or letter soon. I'm not worried. 

On Tuesday Becky finally got to see her girlfriend who came for a visit in our garden. The last time they spent any time together apart from on video chat was in October so it was long overdue. I spent most of the afternoon out there digging myself a new flowerbed to keep an eye on them but they were on their best behaviour and stayed 2m apart mostly. There was the odd moment they forgot all about socially distancing when they were looking at each others phone or having a good giggle about something. They did so well though. She's coming back next week sometime depending on the weather.

We also went for a visit to my dad's yesterday. We of course stayed outside and even took our own lunch with us. He is always pottering about and roped us in to helping. He had me painting a fence, Becky painting a wall and Ellie helping him fill in cracks on a paved area. It was nice to see him and spend time with him and his partner. 

We have a long weekend and I am looking forward to spending it at home just with the girls and Stu. I have noticed that Harry Potter is on ITV2 over the weekend. I think they're showing all the films so that should keep us occupied. I will never get sick of watching them. We of course have plenty of Easter eggs to eat! Yum, yum! I hope you all have a fab Easter.

What I loved in March 2021.

I have said this every month for months but time seems to be flying over. March went in a blink of an eye. It was a good month. Lots of positive things happening but it is hard to find new things to love when nothing much has changed in our lives. We have still mostly being staying home and doing much of the same things.

This is what I loved in March.

My family being vaccinated.

My dad, his partner, my great aunt, my fella Stu and Becky my eldest have all been vaccinated against Covid and I am getting my jab on Saturday. I feel like we're all a little safer from being seriously ill. We won't be changing how we've been living for the last year. We will still be staying home as much as we can and staying away from others but I do feel happier that everyone I care about is a little safer.

Desperate Housewives on Star on Disney+.

I watched it about 15 years ago when it was on TV and it turns out I have forgotten so much about it like the fact that John Barrowman was in it for a few episodes as a bad guy. lol It is such a great show. There are about 20 episodes per series and there are 8 of them so it's taken me a while to get through which is a good thing as it's kept my busy but I am onto the last series now. It's got comedy, drama and mystery, even Becky has been watching it.

A close-knit group of housewives reside in Wisteria Lane. It may appear to be a seemingly perfect neighbourhood but it hides many secrets, crimes, forbidden romances and domestic struggles.

The new season of Fortnite.

It's the first time I have played Fortnite when a new season has started. They make a new map and reset everyone to level one which sounds a bit rubbish for everyone at a high level but great for me because now I know how to play I started off equal to Stu and my girls. hehehe It has taken a bit of getting used to the changes but I feel like I have got the hang of it now.

Back to school & College.

The girls finally went back to school and college and it has gone well. Ellie loves school and finds the learning much easier there rather than at home. She has been busy choosing her GCSE options and finally settled on Business, Engineering and Geography. Becky was glad to get back to college, she's only there one day a week at the moment but she enjoyed seeing her friends and being out of the house.

Getting a new back door.

It may seem like a small thing but getting our old wooden door replaced has made such a difference. The kitchen is so much warmer and thankfully there is no more rain coming in. The landlord is now on about changing the window in the kitchen for a smaller one. The one at the moment is about 8 or 9 foot wide and there is just no need for it.

Mother's Day.

Mother's day might be my favourite day of the year. I think it even beats my birthday. hehehe The kids spoilt me rotten this year. I got quite a few presents and they waited on me hand and foot. The highlight of my day was getting an Indian takeaway. I haven't had one since we lived in Northumberland nearly 2 years ago so it was a real treat.
