Our weekly meal plan! 4th - 10th May. #MealPlanningMonday

Last weeks meal plan went well. We ate just about everything but did skip the salad on Tuesday. The weather was grey and chilly and not salad weather so we had potato waffles covered in pizza sauce, salami, ham and cheese with a side of garlic bread. Bad weather calls for comfort food. The kids loved the Greggs pasties we had mid week, the frozen one's from Iceland. We've had them in the past when we lived in the old house and they weren't great but they cooked perfectly here and I think it's down to having a gas oven now. Over the weekend the meals were changed too. The pulled pork was scrapped for spaghetti bolognese and with had bolognese in wraps yesterday.

We had another food shop delivered yesterday and that will be the last one until the end of the month. We are well stocked up again now so things will be easier. We have plenty of meat and veg in the freezer and things in the cupboard. All we will run short on is fruit, milk, bread and probably tins of peas and baked beans but they can be picked up from the corner shop.

This week on the menu we have:

Monday Burgers in buns with salad.
Tuesday - Home made pizza.
Wednesday - Cottage pie.
Thursday - Sausage pasta.
Friday - Fish and chips out of the freezer.
Sunday - Some sort of casserole cooked in the slow cooker.

What are you eating this week?

I do miss days out to the seaside! #MySundaySnapshot

We have got used to not going out apart from in the garden and our daily walks but I was looking back over old photos, looking for one to share today because I haven't taken many over the past week because of the dreary weather and I kept going back to one's from trips we've had to Amble, a small seaside town in Northumberland where we used to live. We used to have some fab days out there, many which I have shared on my blog. I do miss days out to the seaside! The Beanies and chips, the rock pools, walking around the harbour and getting stuck in the sand.

These photos were taken in 2013.
Becky was about 10 years old and Ellie was about 5 years old. (they look so little).

Week 18 of #Project366 - A photo every day for a year!

Another week has flown over and we're into May. We haven't really got up to much over the past week. The weather hasn't been the best which seems to affected our mood. The kids haven't been motivated to do their school and college work like past weeks and even I have less get up and go. I want the sunshine back!

Now for a photo every day!

116/366 - 25th April
Pink hair and I am keeping this colour.

117/366 - 26th April
We had a roast dinner on Sunday, the first in ages and it was so good. We had all the trimmings including roast parsnips and pork, cranberry and apple stuffing. It's a ready made mix that you just add water too but it's my favourite from Tesco.

118/366 - 27th April
My peas are growing well. All the rain this week has really helped them along.

119/366 - 28th April
We had planned on having a salad on Tuesday but the weather was grey and gloomy so we wanted comfort food. We had the waffle pizza fries with a side of garlic bread. It looks like a sloppy mess but is so good. Waffle fries covered in pizza sauce, salami, ham and cheese.

120/366 - 29th April
Ellie was hard work on Thursday. She didn't want to do any school work. She did eventually and these were some of the maths sheets from the school website which we printed off.

121/366 - 30th April
Becky loves doing her college work at home especially when she gets to go on my fellas computer.

122/366 - 1st May
Ellie ready for a walk out.

This week my Word of the Week is: Changes! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

This past week has been a bit of a different one. It seems there has been quite a few changes.

Since I last wrote my word of the week post I have had another change of hair colour. I put a colour stripper on which turned it green then I popped a pink dye on which looks brilliant. I will be keeping this colour as long as it lasts. You can see it in my blog post from yesterday

What a change with the weather. It has been grey and cloudy here most of the week. Most days it's looked like rain but not actually rained until tea time. My garden really is appreciating it though. It has been a lot colder which is just typical since last week I ordered a few new tops and dresses off ebay to keep cool. At the moment they're the last thing I want to wear. I'm back to my winter woolies.

I think the change in weather has affected all of our moods. I have felt less motivated to do things and so have the kids. It has been a nightmare to get Ellie to do her school work. I did the whole threatening to ring the school and it worked. She did get on with her work but not what she was supposed to be doing that day. She swapped a couple of days around and learned that she can't just copy off Wikipedia. lol The school are arranging video lessons on Zoom next week which should be interesting. I think having to be up, dressed and having her hair brushed at least by 9am will give her the motivation she needs.

After getting the shopping delivered it has been lovely to cook and eat well. The Sunday dinner was amazing since we hadn't had one in so long. Our meal plan hasn't gone exactly to plan this week and we changed things around. We didn't fancy a salad when it was a chilly day so it was nice to have a stocked freezer and cupboard so we had a choice of yummy food.

We finally had a phone call to say Ellie was in the care of our local hospital for her hearing. It was the last piece in the jigsaw of things that needed to change over from when we moved house last year. We have been waiting for an appointment since September and obviously can't have one now with coronavirus but a phone call was enough for the time being. She's on the books of the local hospital and that's all we need for the moment. We're officially settled here now and it's only taken 10 or so months. lol I have a couple of posts next week about Ellie's deafness and getting her registered here next week with it being National Deaf Week.2

I hope you are all keeping well?
