The ultimate feel good Christmas present for the animal lover in your family!

There is someone in my family who have said that they don't want me to waste my money on them but I do want to get them something and I think I might have found the perfect gift. They are big animal lovers, especially dogs and are always raising money for different charities so with this present I feel good, they feel good and it will help an animal too.

Animal welfare charity, Miracle’s Mission is offering a wonderful opportunity to sprinkle some Christmas good cheer for the needy rescue dogs and cats that they foster; to buy them a Christmas dinner or toy. It’s the ultimate present for the dog or cat lover in your family.

Victoria Bryceson’s charity, Miracle's Mission, is a non-profit animal welfare organisation that works with sick, injured and difficult animals. Her mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the need for neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more dogs and cats onto the streets.

Miracle was a dog who was rescued from the streets of Borneo at one week old, before her tiny eyes were even open. She had several injuries and was very weak, but she made a miraculous recovery and is now strong, happy and healthy living with her adopted brother Ben, sister Star and sister Tess. Victoria is now working towards saving many more stray dogs and other stray animals all around the world, starting in Borneo where Miracle was rescued.

You can buy a Christmas Dinner or a toy for a dog or cat, which comes with a certificate. And with so many hungry mouths to feed at Miracle’s Mission, your gift will make a massive difference to the quality of life of a dog or cat at this time of year. Christmas Dinner for a dog or cat costs £5 and a toy for a dog or cat also costs £5.

Miracle’s Mission is also looking for help to build the UK’s first centre for disabled animals, where founder of Miracle’s Mission, Victoria Bryceson and her team can rehabilitate the most vulnerable, before finding them their forever homes. You can donate to the appeal by clicking here.

I was not compensated for this blog post, I just though it was a nice thing to share.

What my girls are not getting for Christmas 2021.

A few years ago I wrote what my girls were not getting for Christmas it was a list full of overpriced toys, trainers, clothes and an iPhone. They have grown up a lot now and their tastes have changed so there are a lot less toys and thank goodness Becky realised Apple products are not all that. lol

My girls are nosy so and so's and take interest in my blog at this time of year, reading to get hints about what they are getting for Christmas but I am not silly, everything I write about which they are getting they know about. hehehe

Christmas presents

To be honest this year has been hard to buy for my girls as they haven't really asked for much or have bought what they want themselves. Hmmf.

Ellie did say she wanted a new mobile phone as the camera on hers isn't that great but she also said she wanted a camera too. She is doing photography for one of her GCSE's at school so a camera of some sort is needed and it would be useful. It was a hard choice to make, new phone or camera. There is nothing wrong with her phone apart from the camera so it would be silly to buy a new phone when I could get a camera for half of the price.

I was going to buy Becky some new trainers but with her first pay from work she bought some for herself. I was also going to buy her a new coat but the one she has her heart set on is around £100 which I think is stupid to pay when a very similar one is in Primark for about £35. I have said I will give her some money towards it but I won't be paying silly money for it which she has accepted.

Becky spotted a gorgeous ring on the Pandora website, the Disney Beauty and the Beast rose ring and I had thought about buying it for her but her girlfriend has got in there first. Hmmf. I have had to have a lot of discussions with "A", Becky's girlfriend so we don't double up on presents. She has sent me links to things that she was going to buy and I have had to say sorry but I've already got it. Oops.

Ellie is into a lot of different anime tv shows and a lot of her Christmas presents are to do with those but she has sent me links to various things which she won't be getting. There were quite a few hoodies off Amazon which didn't have great reviews and a backpack for £60 which I think was so overpriced. Ellie also sent me links to various websites which deliver to the UK but the delivery costs a small fortune, usually more than the item she wanted off that particular website.

Monopoly sets are the latest thing that Becky is into collecting and she gave me a list of about 15 different one's that she wanted. I think she might have been expecting quite a few but I have got her one and her girlfriend has. She already has about 4 different sets and I don't know where she is planning to put them if she gets many more, her bedroom isn't the biggest.

Despite not getting all of these things I don't think my girls will be disappointed on Christmas day as they are still getting a lot of things that they have asked for.

Is there anything on your children's Christmas list that they want but won't be getting?

Our weekly meal plan! 6th - 12th December. #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went perfectly and we ate everything on the days I had planned. It's been a while since that last happened so I am feeling very pleased with myself.

It might be just me but at this time of year it seems such an effort to meal plan. All I seem to think about is the food we will be eating over Christmas. I am saying to my family we're having no roast dinners until Christmas day, no party food until just before Christmas, the freezer is full of Christmas supplies and leaves little room for much else and I don't want to spend much on the food shop in the next couple of weeks so it just seems like a struggle. We will plod on, we will still eat well and we won't be hungry. I really should count my blessings.

As of writing this parents evening for Ellie is still happening this week. I am really shocked with how things are at the moment but it will be nice to see her teachers face to face considering we've never had a parents evening since Ellie has been at this school. I've heard her teachers and seen them on Zoom when we were doing home learning but I have never had much feedback about how she is doing at school in individual lessons.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Lasagne and garlic bread.
WednesdayFish fingers, chips and baked beans.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - A stir fry of some sort.
Sunday - Toad in the hole, mash & veg.

What are you eating this week?

I am linking up with Karen over at Cat's, Kids, Chaos who is now hosting the meal planning linky.

I miss getting clothes out on the line. #MySundaySnapshot

It's that time of year when I struggle to get clothes dry. I can't get anything out on the washing line and I hate putting clothes into the tumble dryer as apart from it costing a fortune ours seems to shrink clothes despite me following the instructions on the labels. The dryer is only good for towels and bedding so we are using the airers and putting the clothes on them and getting them off is a job I really hate. It seems to take forever. Ugh. I am very glad that the bathroom is so warm so I can get plenty of washing dried in there.
