I hope you are all having a good weekend! Mine has felt non-stop. I went to my dad's Friday and he made me lunch, I went for a look around the car boot sale, spent some time with my brother, caught up on the housework and wrapped some birthday presents.
Yesterday was Stu's birthday and the first Saturday of the Premier League so we combined to the two events and went for a meal out while watching the football which was being shown on big TV's at the pub. After the match had finished we played some pool and hung out for a bit. We came home around tea time, got snacks on the way and spent the evening in front of the TV. Stu was happy with his day, he isn't big on celebrating birthdays but there were presents, cards, good food and of course cake! It was a nice family day which we all enjoyed.
After a busy few days I am ready for today, a day of doing not much at all! Stu and I did have plans but Ellie changed her plans and we now have her company. I think it's going to be a movie day, I am sure we can find something to watch that we can all agree on.
Today marks 16 years since Becky, my eldest had open heart surgery to fix a hole in her heart and tomorrow marks 16 years since Ellie had the same surgery to fix the same problem. Yep, it really did happen and it was the scariest, most stressful part of my life, they are fit and well now. I have a blog post about it next week, like I do every year raising a bit of awareness.
Now for a photo every day!

Just me. It got to just before I went to bed when I realised I hadn't taken a photo. This one will have to do.

Ellie's birthday decorations were delivered! I was very happy with everything. She hasn't seen them yet so is going to be very surprised. Less than 2 weeks to go until her 18th!
224/365 - 12th August
I got all my jobs done around the house early and actually fitted in some time to play the Sims on the afternoon.
225/365 - 13th August
Banana loaf! My dad was given a couple and had one going spare so he brought it round for us to enjoy! It was so good and reminded me so much of the banana muffins that my great aunt used to make.
226/365 - 14th August
Stu's main birthday present! The Thor hammer which is actually a tool kit! A bit of a novelty one and a practical one. (He is so hard to buy for). I really shouldn't have bought it so early in our shopping trip as I had to carry it around all afternoon.

Just a random Newcastle Brown Ale tin. We of course love anything Newcastle related since we used to live near there and it's not often we see things Newcastle related where we live now but I found this at the car boot sale.

It was Stu's birthday. We watched the football, it ended in a draw but it was a nice afternoon with football, food and family.
Nice pictures from your week! I'm glad that you guys had a great day yesterday celebrating Stu :). We went to a birthday celebration for a man yesterday ourselves, my brother in law, Don. I hope the rest of your weekend is good!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had a lovely productive week. I'm glad Stu enjoyed his birthday and got to enjoy the football as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope Ellie and Becky both have great birthdays too x
Happy birthday to Stu. And more birthdays coming up with Ellie's soon. I might have to make banana bread or some muffins as I bought bananas in my order, before I had it confirmed they were off on holiday. So I won't get through them fast enough as bananas.
ReplyDeleteFun photos and nice that the birthday celebration for Stu was a good one! Wishing you a great week ahead, Kim!
