What a week I have had, in a good way! I got over the cold I had last week. There’s nothing better than that first day when you wake up and realise you can actually breathe through your nose and have a little more energy back. I got on top of the jobs around the house that had been piling up just in time to have a big day out to Birmingham to visit the biggest Primark in the world. I had a lazy day at home on Friday, I needed it and yesterday Ellie and I had a little shopping trip together. We did more browsing than buying but sometimes it’s just fun to potter about the shops and people watch.
Today, I’m taking things slowly, there is just some washing to get through and maybe lunch out if we can be bothered. As I’m writing this I feel like I could happily crawl back into bed and snooze the afternoon away. It has felt like a busy week but from now until January things are only going to get busier! I've just realised next week we head into October, September really is the quickest month. It's like blink and you missed it!
Now for a photo every day!
263/365 - 21st September
The carvery is back on at the pub and the kids were out doing their own thing so Stu and I treated ourselves to lunch out and it was good. It might not look amazing on the photo but trust me it was and the bonus was there was no cooking or washing up to do for me!
263/365 - 22nd September
Just a pumpkin shaped and scented candle. Tis the season!
263/365 - 23rd September
I made 14 banana and chocolate chip muffins! They didn't last 24 hours as they were so good! I had compliments from everyone who tried them and a backhanded one from Ellie. She said they were good but not as good as Aunty Jean's. I will take 2nd best, no one makes better muffins than my Great Aunt did.
263/365 - 24th September
It is the season to rewatch The Gilmore Girls! It is such a cute show, no big drama or shocks just cosy TV.
263/365 - 25th September
I am Kim and I have a mug addiction! I was in mug heaven in Primark, there must have been about 100 to choose from. I'm actually surprised I bought just one.
263/365 - 26th September
Months ago I was looking for the Minecraft bathbombs in Lush but our local one didn't have them in. Birmingham didn't let me down though, I found them there and had a lovely soak in the bath with them on Friday.
263/365 - 27th September
Ellie and I were feeling fancy shopping in the food section of M&S. She treated herself to some salmon, I bought some Percy Pig sweets. The only reason we went in was for the Christmas food catalogue!
Nice pictures from your week! So glad you are feeling better- you would not have wanted that cold for your trip to Primark! I like to find large selections of things I love- I'll bet you were in heaven looking at all the mugs for sale :). Those muffins look great and it sounds like they tasted really good, too! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :).
ReplyDeleteI picked up an M&S Christmas food calendar when I was in the UK in 2001 and I still have it! It's such beautiful photography of amazing food, lots of picky bits for your holiday entertaining. There used to be M&S in Canada, not sure if it was just clothes and housewares or if they had food as well but sadly, they are all closed. Darn, just when I live close enough to take a run up to one of them!
ReplyDeleteThe biggest Primark in the world sounds a bit overwhelming to me! I find it bad enough in the Hull store. Glad you had fun. Enjoy the new Minecraft bathbombs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely week you've had with two shopping trips!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we are almost in October already and the Christmas catalogues are out.
Daisy is rewatching The Gilmore Girls for about the twentieth time, it's such a feel good show.
I love the bathbombs they look like fun, I bet they smelled amazing too.
We miss those Sunday roasts we used to enjoy at the pub in the UK! I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope you landed on some good finds at the big Primark! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're over the flu and out having fun. Eating out is great with no kitchen mess! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteWe love Gilmore Girls at our house! it's always a favorite with my girls as are banana chocolate chip anything! I'm not surprised that your muffins didn't last 24 hours! YUM!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better! I just started rewatching Gilmore Girls too. I had listened to Kelly Bishop's memoir The Third Gilmore Girl and I found myself wanting to remember more details.
ReplyDeleteThose bath bombs are cute! Hope they didn't "explode"!! Thanks for sharing your week in photos!! Enjoy the week in front of us!! xo
ReplyDeleteThe weekly roundup is always fun to visit! I was curious about the mine craft cubes, only to find out they are bath cubes. My 4 year old is now mine craft obsessed!
ReplyDeleteGlad you’re feeling better and enjoyed your trip to the biggest Primark in the world! How lovely to go out for a carvery meal. I love the Minecraft bath bombs – didn’t know they existed! I’ll have to remember that for Thomas for Christmas - he’ll love them. #project365
ReplyDeleteI don't food shop for Christmas until a few days before the big day as we never know where we'll be or who is coming and I just do a full Sunday roast. I do of course stock up on the chocolates and buy crackers etc.
