Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a good week! Ours has been fantastic with so much going on! So I'm going to jump right in and share what I have loved this week! Of course I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share these favourites.
My youngest turning 18!
I am going right back to this time last week, it was Ellie's 18th birthday. She had the best day and got everything she wanted and more. I will get around to writing about her special day and might make it a bumper post about her sisters birthday too as my eldest's birthday is in a few days. It is crazy to think I now have 2 adult children at home.
A Slytherin Krispy Kreme Doughnut!
The return to a routine!
Ellie is back at college which means we going to bed earlier and unfortunately getting up earlier, I am getting all the jobs done around the house when I am supposed to get them done, we are eating at sensible times and everything just feels more in order and I am happy about that. Summer is fun but I do like routine!
The dressing table!
Ellie was so surprised with the dressing table we had bought for her birthday, I printed out the picture of it and popped it in one of her birthday cards and she was so confused and then happy! Stu got it put together over the weekend which was great amusement for me. flat pack furniture is really sent to test us. Anyway it looks fabulous and it has so many drawers and hidden shelves to put things which has created so much more storage in Ellie's bedroom!
The Art of Racing in the Rain - Netflix!
This is an old movie from 2019 which I came across on Netflix. I wanted a nice movie to watch on Sunday afternoon and knew nothing about it when I started watching apart from Kevin Costner is the voice of the dog. It had me laughing and crying. It was just lovely!
The Art of Racing in the Rain tells the story of an aspiring race car driver, Denny, and his dog, Enzo, narrated from Enzo's perspective as he reflects on their life together. After being adopted as a puppy by Denny, Enzo learns about life, love, and loss through his owner's marriage to Eve and the birth of their daughter, Zoe. As Denny faces significant challenges Enzo remains loyal, drawing parallels between the skills needed for racing and the ability to navigate life's obstacles.
Added extras in Ellie's room!
As well as getting the dressing table for her birthday Ellie picked out a key hook which she is using to hang her necklaces and a little cat shelf which is for her gems and crystals. Her bedroom is exactly how she wants it now!
Unknown Number: The High School Catfish - Netflix!
A teen girl and her boyfriend face persistent harassment from an unknown caller. Police investigating the months of torment discover a revelation that upends their initial assumptions.
I had seen clips of this on TikTok and that was enough to get me interested. It was shocking and disturbing and had one of those moments that I didn't see coming! I sat there mouth open thinking what?!! Soon after I was shouting at the TV.
This mug from TK Maxx!
Autumn!
I know it's not officially Autumn until later in the month but as soon as September the 1st hit it felt like there was a shift in everything. It was chillier which meant I could wear my Autumn dresses, tights and boots, Ellie started the new year of college, The Great British Bake Off returned to our screens and we had a sausage casserole one evening for tea which feels like a proper Autumn meal.
What have you loved over the last week?
I'm so glad Ellie loved her dressing table, it sure does look great and has a lot of storage! You got a taste of Autumn, and we got a taste of spring this week, which was really lovely. But it's back to winter today. I suppose it will be like this until it's well and truly summer. I think I heard about the Netflix show Unknown Number, and I think I know who it was! I was shocked too. I might watch it tonight. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteA great list of favorites! How fun for Ellie to feel loved and get spoiled on her big day. The dressing table looks fantastic for storage. Good job, mama! Her cat shelf is super cute as well. What a fun theme for a donut- love it! So many good things- I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to both of your girls! I love that pumpkin mug! I loved the book The Art of Racing and it had me in tears. I am curious to watch Unknown Number but I'm also scared! What a great gift and sorry the assembly was so crazy.
ReplyDeleteThe cat shelf for the gems/crystals is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're fall is off to a great start!! It seems to get so busy so fast, it's good when you can just savor it :). Love that mug - I don't generally do seasonal stuff because I don't like to store it but things like that are tempting!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your daughter had a great 18th birthday! That donut looks yummy. I am so glad the dressing table was such a big hit.
ReplyDeleteThat mug is so festive and cute. I don't own a single fall-themed mug and I need to change that ASAP!
ReplyDeleteLove the mug! We stopped by Krispy Kreme to try a Harry Potter doughnut, but they were all sold out.
ReplyDeleteWe saw those Krispy Kreme donuts! My daughter wants to try them! And I've heard soooo many people talking about Unknown Number. It sounds crazy and I've heard that the end is even crazier. I want to watch it soon because I'm worried about spoilers getting out and ruining it for me! And I LOVE that mug... the pink is just perfection with the pumpkins! I need to go to my TJ Maxx and see if we have any here!
