Week 1 - A photo everyday for a year. #Project365
Here we go again....This will be my 4th year of taking part in Project 365....One photo for every day of the year! Last year was the first year I actually completed it. The previous years I had missed a couple of photos...
This weeks photos are a bit rubbish....We've had a week doing nothing....
1/365 - 1st January
Happy new year....We stayed up until midnight, saw the fireworks on the TV and we were tucked up in bed by half past twelve....
2/365 - 2nd January
Ellie still loves playing with dolls....She got a ton of new clothes and a couple of new dolls for Christmas. She loves changing the outfits.
3/365 - 3rd January
We were taste testing the snacks in a subscription box....Ellie had great fun....The review will be on my blog next week!
4/365 - 4th January
Hot chocolate and biscuits before bed....
5/365 - 5th January
We went shopping and the girls spent some of their Christmas money....Becky got 2 sets of headphones. She needed 2 apparently. One in ear one's and one over ear one's....lol

Busy doing nothing.... #WotW
This week my Word of the Week is:
After Christmas and New year I think I needed a week like we have had...A week of doing nothing! I have had no planning or organising to do and it has been lovely just to take things easy....
When the girls broke up from school on the 20th of December I thought it was so late but it has worked out well....They have had this full week to relax after the excitement of Christmas and New year....It has been lovely!
The Christmas decorations came down on Sunday and on new years eve we had a party tea and we were all tucked up in bed by half past 12. That has been the biggest excitement of the week....lol
The kids have money from Christmas to spend but they can't find anything that they really want....Becky bought an xbox game earlier in the week that she half wanted but that is it! I have said when they find something they really want they can spend the money but at the moment I think all their Christmas presents are keeping them happy....There is nothing that is catching their eye which is really surprising!
I really feel like I did well buying for the girls for Christmas. Some years there is always some things which get put aside and not used but everything the girls got for Christmas has been played with and used. Well apart from the Crystal growing set which the girls are planning to do over the weekend....
Usually at this time of year I struggle to blog....I always find January a bit miserable and uninspiring. I usually have nothing to write about but I am feeling OK at the moment. I have a few posts scheduled and a more few planned....
We have a few more days of doing nothing....Then on Tuesday the girls go back to school....Eek!

Digging for dinosaurs. The 2 in 1 Prehistoric Excavation Kit!
I hadn't planned on writing about any of the kids Christmas presents but they got one each which was a huge hit. It was one of those daft things I bought them as it was cheap and I thought it would kill half an hour....I thought they'd like it but I did not expect it to be as good as it was.....
The 2 in 1 Excavation Kit from Sports Direct which cost only £5.00.
You get two clay blocks which the bones and fossils are in, a tool to dig, a brush to move all the dust and a magnifying glass....
The girls started on their blocks and soon got the hang of scraping the clay....It is really easy to dig but does take a little effort. It doesn't just break apart which is a good thing. It makes all the effort worthwhile....
It says for ages 5+ which I think is about right....The way my girls were digging and scraping I would be worried for younger children's hands....The tool isn't sharp but still hurts if you slip....
It didn't take long before they discovered things....Becky a bone and Ellie a dinosaur head! I think one block of clay has fossils and the other the bones...You don't know until you start digging....
The girls were on for about 45 minutes and only managed to find two of the four things to find in the first block....They had fantastic fun and the only reason they stopped was because we needed to tidy up for tea....I have a feeling they will be back to it soon....
This activity does create a lot of mess but it is easy to clean up. Sweep the dust and wipe everything down with a damp cloth....
This was an unexpected huge hit at Christmas....Did your children get anything like this?
