Busy doing nothing.... #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

After Christmas and New year I think I needed a week like we have had...A week of doing nothing! I have had no planning or organising to do and it has been lovely just to take things easy....

When the girls broke up from school on the 20th of December I thought it was so late but it has worked out well....They have had this full week to relax after the excitement of Christmas and New year....It has been lovely!

The Christmas decorations came down on Sunday and on new years eve we had a party tea and we were all tucked up in bed by half past 12. That has been the biggest excitement of the week....lol

The kids have money from Christmas to spend but they can't find anything that they really want....Becky bought an xbox game earlier in the week that she half wanted but that is it! I have said when they find something they really want they can spend the money but at the moment I think all their Christmas presents are keeping them happy....There is nothing that is catching their eye which is really surprising!

I really feel like I did well buying for the girls for Christmas. Some years there is always some things which get put aside and not used but everything the girls got for Christmas has been played with and used. Well apart from the Crystal growing set which the girls are planning to do over the weekend....

Usually at this time of year I struggle to blog....I always find January a bit miserable and uninspiring. I usually have nothing to write about but I am feeling OK at the moment. I have a few posts scheduled and a more few planned....

We have a few more days of doing nothing....Then on Tuesday the girls go back to school....Eek!

  1. Sometimes it's nice to just do nothing. We still have a crystal making set to do as well :)
My kids had some argos vouchers to spend but they soon found stuff they wanted, they are stocking up on Sylvanian families stuff now, but not the animals, they are using their littlest pet shop figures instead. Have a peaceful weekend x

Ahh! That is quite frugal of the kids to use their littlest pet shop figures instead. x

  2. Nothing can be so lovely. We've had a week a bit like that and we've all loved it. Your two are good with their money, my son had spent all of his by 11am on Boxing Day! Boo lasted a day longer, but that was it! Enjoy the rest of the break x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

hahaha! Your boy is a lot like me. If I have spare money I need to spend it. I don't know where my girls get it from x

  3. We had such a short Christmas holiday but it was needed here. I would have liked it a little longer to be honest. It sounds like you all had a great week together #WotW

  4. Hi Kim, after the business of Christmas a week doing nothing sounds perfect. The schools here don't break up until the 23rd, which took some getting used to, but now I love the fact we have longer after Christmas to relax... Sounds like you made some perfect choices for your girls presents, that's always a relief.

    xx

    1. We broke up on the 22nd which did seem really late. Previous years it has been around the 15th/16th at the latest. Thank you x

  5. I think we all need some 'nothing' days after Christmas, and it's just nice to sit back and not have to think about anything. Sounds as if you had a lovely Christmas Kim. My two went back on Wednesday so we have had a few days or normal life x

  6. I know what you mean, it is a funny old week after the festive period and a bit of a let down. It is good your children can wait until they want something. I am glad to hear you have inspiration to write X #wotw

  8. I think my lot would have liked this week off too, but we broke up early. Your girls are very wise. Hope they find something in a few months time to spend their money on. Nice to space it out. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. #wotw
