Our weekly meal plan! 19th - 25th July. #MealPlanningMonday

Our Weekly meal plan

Last weeks meal plan went OK, we swapped a couple of meals around but nothing was wasted. I think this week we will be eating salads and proper summer food as the weather is suppose to be hot again. It's nice to see the sun shining but I am not so keen on the heat.

We had a lovely weekend with lots of treats. We went shopping in Hull on Saturday and visited McDonalds, got Krispy Kreme doughnuts and stopped off in Costa for a strawberry lemonade my 2nd of the day, I also got one from Mcdonalds. Ellie also got some noodles from a place we found, Wok & Go. She saved them to eat at home as we were getting the bus and they were still too hot to eat. She said they were so good.

We're now into the last week of school. Hooray! We are so ready for the summer holidays which start at 2pm on Friday. We don't have any plans at all. I think we will be spending some time with my dad and that's about it.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Burgers in buns. I might even cook them on the BBQ.
Wednesday - Quiche and salad.
Friday - Fish finger sandwiches.
Saturday - Pizza.
Sunday - Chicken and chips.

What are you eating this week?

She built a bear. #MySundayPhoto

Ellie has always wanted to get a bear from Build a Bear. We've been in there before and looked around but never bought anything. I have struggled with what to get for her birthday next month so said next time we went to Hull we would get her a Build a Bear. Yesterday was the day!!

She choose Toothless from How to Train your Dragon. She went through the whole process of watching it getting stuffed and the woman building the bear made Ellie do a little dance when putting the heart in. She was cringing so much and looked like she wanted the earth to swallow her up and I stood their hiding behind my mask laughing. hehehe I made it up to her buy buying toothless a t-shirt and a cute little bag for him to be carried home. She went with her 2nd favourite thing for the accessories, Baby Yoda!

My youngest with her build a bear.

Week 28 of #Project365. 10th - 16th July. A photo every day for a year!

This week seems to have gone in a blur despite me not actually doing that much. We are just hanging on for the end of term. 5 more school days to go! We were on such a high on Sunday going into the final of the football and then we lost to penalties after that social media was not a nice place to be. I wasn't in the best of moods at the start of the week. The weather was terrible but the week has got better. We're now we're in the middle of a mini heatwave. I was out yesterday and felt like I was melting and we're going out today to Hull shopping and it's supposed to be even hotter. Eek!

Now for a photo every day!

Flowers in the dark and Loki on the TV
Rain
My eldest sat outside and more flowers
My fella cementing the floor and The Greatest Showman on the TV

191/365 - 10th July
I went and sat outside for a bit to cool down. It was so warm inside. It was so quiet out there, late on.

192/365 - 11th July
I started watching Loki on Sunday. I'm a couple of episodes in and Stu decided he wanted to watch it too so we're now watching it together when he has time. I love it.

193/365 - 12th July
Rain! It absolutely chucked it down, at least I didn't have to go out and water my garden.

194/365 - 13th July
I dragged Becky outside for some fresh air.

195/365 - 14th July
There has been so may bugs on my flowers lately. Hmmf but they are all doing well despite the rain battering them.

196/365 - 15th July
We have so many cracks on the concrete part of our garden and the weeds kept coming through until Stu dug the weeds out and them filled the holes with cement.

197/365 - 16th July
I watched The Greatest Showman for the millionth time while writing this blog post. It is up there in my top 10 favourite films of all time.

This week my Word of the Week is: Support! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Support

We have got to the point now where we're counting down the days to the summer holidays and the break from school. Only 5 more school days to go! Covid cases are rising here and it's making me feel anxious especially with most of the restrictions being dropped on Monday. Every time I get a message from the school I think the worst.

I got a phone call from the hearing support worker who checks on Ellie at school. Ellie is deaf in one ear, has some great support from the special education needs people and they make sure all of her teachers know about her hearing loss and that she is getting the right help in school. The woman was just checking in to say she'd seen Ellie at school and she seems to be doing well. She was also asking how she coped with people wearing masks? Ellie doesn't rely on lipreading but it does help her. I said she managed but school did seem to be more tiring for her. I am guessing it was the fact she had to concentrate more on what people were saying.

Ellie return to school has gone well. All the kids are wearing their masks when moving between lessons and they are back to having lateral flow tests in school. There was a bit of drama about the lateral flow tests being done in school when a small number of parents said that requiring tests before letting the children mix with others was an infringement of their rights. The school stuck to their guns and said if a child isn't tested they will be kept away from other children or don't bother sending them in. I think that is the right decision and I am supporting the school. I certainly don't want Ellie mixing with others who could have Covid and have no idea about it. I do have a feeling that some parents are keeping their kids off school because they have a holiday booked and they don't want that disrupted with having to isolate.

The GCSE options for Ellie have been finalised. She chose History, Business Studies and Engineering but the teachers thought she will struggle with history, I think they are right so she had to have a change around. She dropped history and took Geography but because of the timetable and the blocks that the subjects were in meant business studies would have to be dropped and she would have to choose a different subject. She went for photography. I think the school encouraged it as it's an easier subject than the others that were in that block.

It was amazing to see the whole country come together to support the England team on Sunday in the football. We lost but they did so well to even get to the final. It's was a sad shame to see all the hooligans at Wembley and the racism that followed. If we had won those horrible people would have been calling Jadon Sancho, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford heroes! They are heroes in my eyes! Now we have to wait until next year for the World Cup which starts on my birthday. What a treat. hehehe

We are having a day out tomorrow, shopping in Hull. I am on a mission to find more of the bralettes that I bought a while ago in Primark. I always thought I needed the support of an underwired bra but they are so uncomfortable so thought I'd buy a pack of 3 bralettes to give them a go and I love them. I haven't worn a proper bra in weeks. I need more though, I have a feeling if I keep washing the 3 that I have they'll drop to bits. lol

I hope you have all had a good week?
