This week my Word of the Week has to be:
The kids have been off school for the Easter holidays and Stu has taken a week off work too....It has been lovely us all being at home. We've enjoyed each others company and amazingly there hasn't been hardly any bickering from the kids unless you count when they were arguing over who got to chop a tree down when they were playing Minecraft. They earned themselves a short ban for being so silly....lol
We had a lovely Easter weekend....We ate far too much chocolate and watched so many films...It was lovely. I had a night out with a few of my friends on Monday....It's been the first night out we've had for ages. It was just to a local pub but it was a nice break....I drank wine and cocktails and did suffer for it the next day....hehehe
On Tuesday we got two council tax bills with different amounts on that we had to pay....So off to the council offices we went. It turns out the lower amount was the correct one thankfully. They didn't know why we got two but it is all sorted now....While we were out we had a look around the charity shops...I got the kids some clothes and Becky picked up a few games for 50 pence each for the Playstation....
We had the Playstation and Wii downstairs up until the beginning of the week....They had been sat unused since we got the xBox....Stu decided to move them to Becky's room and we've hardly seen her since. lol I am glad they are getting used again but it would be nice to see my girl now and again.
We also went through the girls memory boxes....I have kept just about everything since they were born. Cards, photos, artwork, hospital letters....We spent hours looking through everything and added a lot to the boxes from the last few months....
On Wednesday we decided to go to the big park....The kids had a great time as we don't go to that park very often as it's always so busy....It was busy when we arrived but it rained for about 5 minutes and nearly everyone went home....I had an idea of writing a blog post and I took a lot of photos and videos....I got home and went to transfer them over to the laptop and nothing was picking up the SD card they were stored on....It is broken. It must have stopped working when we were out because the last few photos and videos were saved on my phone not the card....I was gutted and still am.
We have been thinking about sorting out mine and Stu's bedroom for weeks and Stu has made a start on it. He has put the TV on the wall and a floating shelf....Why have I not had them before....There is the wires to sort out but it's looking great.
I want them everywhere in the house they look so neat and tidy. The tumble dryer has been moved into the shed as it needs repairing as it's one of the faulty one's and there is so much more space....I am even considering getting a dressing table or a desk....
Yesterday was a lazy day....We stayed in our PJ's, played Minecraft and watched a couple of films....

Today we are off to Newcastle for our genetic tests to see if I passed the girls heart defects to them or it was just bad luck and if they will pass it on to there children.....I am very interested but so nervous at the same time....Today could be another life changing moment for my girls. As the appointment is pretty early on we're hoping we can do something fun this afternoon....
It sounds like you've had a great week, the perfect mix of relaxation and productivity! I do hope today goes well x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
ReplyDeleteThank you! It has been lovely.
DeleteThe tests went OK....We didn't really find much out.
Wow what a lovely fun packed week.
ReplyDeleteI love memory boxes, we were only adding to ours just the other day.
Keeping everything crossed that all goes well at the genetics appointment, thinking of you all xx
Thank you! It has been great.
DeleteThe appointment went OK...
What a busy but lovely week Kim! I hope the appt for the girls goes ok. So gutting about the card.. That happened to my mum once and she was so sad!! Getting organised feels so good! Have a fab second week xx #wotw
ReplyDeleteIt has been fab...The appointment went OK.
DeleteLosing the photos was so frustrating. I know I had some great videos. Grr!
Thank you!
Glad you've had Dad at home with you& that your bill was lower! I had a look through Charlie's baby box and it blows my mind he was ever so teeny
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well tomorrow xx #wotw
It is so strange that they were ever that small isn't it.
DeleteThank you!
Glad to hear you've been enjoying the Easter break together. A baby box is a fantastic idea and I love charity shops with their wonderful bargains. I've now got some firm favourites I like to go too. Good luck with tomorrow. #WotW
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCharity shops are fantastic. I always seem to get some great bargains.
What a great week Kim, my children have only broke up from school today and my husband from work to. We are hoping to have lots of fun :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holidays x
DeleteWhat a fab Easter week. I love floating shelves thery are ace! Good luck with the genetics appointment I hope it is all good X #wotw
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing. I want to fill my house with them. lol
DeleteThank you!
It sounds like you all had a great week together. Darren wants to put our TV on the wall but I'm sure it will fall off again knowing our luck. When we went to Disney World in 2012 one of my memory cards corrupted and I thought I lost EVERYTHING. I was heart broken. Thankfully it was just one file that was stopping the whole card being read. A Sony card reader did the trick and our memories were saved. I hope the genetic tests go well, this is something we had to do with Ethan. Turns out is was luck of the draw in our case #WotW
ReplyDeleteI was so scared of the TV falling off too but it seems OK.
DeleteOh no! That is terrible about the memory card. Way more annoying losing those photos than my afternoon at the park! So glad you got them back x
Thank you!
I love how you kept memories! I have few of them but I got busy later on and I stopped collecting. Seeing you go back in the days when your girls are born in ig made me remember mine =)
ReplyDelete#wotw
I have collected everything....I am such a hoarder. lol
DeleteThank you!
Hi Kim, what a busy holiday you've had ( a bit of a contradiction in terms), it must have been nice having Stu home for a week too. I hope that you get the results you want for your genetic testing and that you learn nothing untoward.
ReplyDeletexx
I know. We have probably done more in the holidays than we do when the girls are at school....lol It has all been fun though and the lie ins have been great.
DeleteThank you!
Good luck with the tests Kim - it must be very nerve-wracking but useful to know too. Love the sound of going through the memory boxes - that must have been lovely. Sorry to hear about you losing the photos from your trip to the big park though - what a shame.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was a bag of nerves but really had nothing to worry about. Everything went OK.
DeleteSounds like you have had quite a busy week, Playstation games for 50p what a bargin, I'm glad you are all enjoying the holidays x
ReplyDeleteI know! Just Playstation 2 games but 50p is still great! hehehe
DeleteThank you!
