Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there! We have no great plans for today, Stu is having a day off from doing anything productive and we'll be getting a takeaway later. I saw my dad on Friday, gave him his card and gifts and spent most of the day with him which was lovely. Sending love and hugs to those who's dad's are no longer with us and find today difficult.
Stu got an early Father's Day treat yesterday. Him and Ellie went to the cinema to see the newest How To Train Your Dragon movie. They love that series but this one was the live action one and then they met up with Becky and they went to play pool. They had a fab day!! I spent the day at home and spent it doing some jobs around the house, blogging and watching TV. It was quite lovely.
Now for a photo every day!

Pretty little flowers! Apparently this is Buckwheat according to Google and my plant identifier app! Of course I read up about it. It attracts bees and other pollinators, gets rid of weeds and improves soil. That is just what my garden needs!

Ellie took some time to sort out the shelves in her bedroom. I had forgotten all about all the Doctor Who figures that she has. They were up on her top shelf before, pushed to the back and me being short couldn't see them. Now she has them lower down for all to see!

Usually when I make a curry it's a boring Korma as Becky isn't keen on anything spicy but she has recently decided that she likes Tikka Masala so we gave that a try and it was good!! I cheated a little and used packet, microwave egg fried rice.

I was out in the garden weeding and after mowing the grass out of the front earlier in the week the garden wheelie bin was half full. It doesn't get emptied for a few days yet so there's a chance it might get filled even more if Stu gets around to cutting the grass in the back garden.

This was my dad's Father's Day card. It is a joke between us that I am his tech support and the first thing I always say have you tried switching it off and on again. That usually fixes the technical issues that he is having.

I spent the day with my dad on Friday. It was nice just hanging out with him while he got on with a few jobs around his workshop. He enjoyed showing me how to do things and I enjoyed learning from him.

Stu was sat waiting to go out for the day with the girls. First up the cinema with Ellie and then to play pool with Becky.
Love that father's day card. If N's not around, I'm the tech support in our house. Anything for the tv - god knows what the OH does to it. But it's usually something simple, and turning it off does often help. I need to weed as well, but we're not entirely sure what are weeds (other than the dandelion things).
ReplyDeleteThat's a great Father's day card! So lovely that your girls enjoyed going out with their Dad to the movies. Hope the takeaway was a nice treat too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of rice in pouches (I do cook rice as well, but it does occasionally go overcooked, eek). Is that the buckwheat that produces edible seeds/grain?
Nice collection of Dr Who figurines.
The card is so cute and I love the joke between you. The buckwheat has lovely flowers, I wouldn't have recognised it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a good week - especially for Stu and the girls. I hope you have a fab week! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Stu and the girls had a great time together, I've heard lots of good things about that movie. That's a brilliant Father's Day card for your dad, I bet that made him chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI usually use microwave rice, it's so much easier and the kids prefer it.
That sounds like a lovely week for all of you!
ReplyDeleteTurning things off and on again seems to be a standard first response from any IT tech support. I am lucky having my own in-house support in the form of my husband. My son is the same when it comes to curry and like Becky has just ventured into trying Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. I use the fired rice microwave rice to make Chicken Fried rice by adding chicken, sweetcorn and soy sauce.
ReplyDeleteI love the card! I always joke that Brian is my tech guy, because the only thing I know to do is turn it off and turn it back on again. If that doesn't work, then I have no clue what to do next! Haha.
ReplyDeleteThose little flowers are pretty. Love the card you chose for your dad. Sophie was looking at that one but it’s the other way round for her tech support-wise! Lovely to have a day hanging out with your dad and hope Stu enjoyed his day with the girls too. #project35
ReplyDeleteSome lovely family time for you this week. Thank you for the comment about those of us without dads, it was a tricky day for us. Love the Dr Who figures. I could do with some buckwheat in the garden
