Last weeks meal plan went great! We ate everything just not necessarily on the day that I had planned. I didn't expect it to work out with it being half term break and us winging it with our plans. It was nice to have some rainy days when we fancied eating the more hearty type meals like the Mushroom Wellington and the roast pork.
This week is back to normal, there's no more bank holidays until later on in the year, Ellie is back at college heading into her summer break and everyone is where they should be. Ellie has a big week with a couple more exams which includes her big practical one for Electrical Engineering where she has to build a whole electrical circuit on a board. I sound like I know exactly what she is doing, in theory I do but I wouldn't know where to start with it. There'll be a lot of wires, that I am sure of!
We have decided to have a break from getting Gousto boxes for a few weeks. We still love them but have got a big list of meals that we want to have which we usually can't fit in because of the meals from Gousto. It will be nice to cook some of our family favourites.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Jacket potatoes with baked beans and cheese.
Tuesday - Spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread.
Wednesday - Leftover Bolognese in Old El Paso Tortilla Pockets. We usually have leftover Bolognese in tortilla wraps but these look like a less messier option.
Thursday - Slow cooker mince and dumplings with mashed potato. I will be making my own dumplings, Gousto taught me how.
Friday - Fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - A stir fry of some sort with spring rolls and prawn crackers.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.
What are you eating this week?
And now I want fish and chips, but without the mushy peas! Enjoy Friday's dinner :)
ReplyDeleteThese all sounds wonderful, my friend! You have me very hungry for dumplings and I would love to try Jacket potatoes!
ReplyDeleteYour meals all sound good! How wonderful that you've learned how to make some dishes from the Gusto boxes... Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteSounds so yummy! I've wanted to comment for awhile that I always love when you share recipes. I've tried many of the ones you've shared. :)
ReplyDeleteYour meals this week are all ones I love. Jacket potato with cheese and beans is my absolute favourite, but I never consider having it for dinner.
