Week 22 of #Project365. 28th May - 3rd June. A photo every day for a year!

What a fantastic week we have had. I am glad the kids are back at school and college next week just so I can recover. lol We've been to Hull for a day of shopping, the kids have been out with friends, we went to an amusement park in Skegness, and a couple of Jubilee events. Usually that's about a month of activities for me but we fitted it all into one week.

It has been nice spending time with family. There has been a good balance between time together as a family and time with friends.

Now for a photo every day!

Work being done in the garden and Heartstopper on Netflix
A Lego exhibition and the food shop
Rain and the kids on a ride at Skegness
Watching the Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service

148/365 - 28th May
Stu was working on the garden again. He's got all of the weeds and stones up from the side of the garden. He did remember to leave my little Christmas tree alone. It's still a work in progress.

149/365 - 29th May
We had a day of watching things of Netflix. The Rebel Wilson film Senior Year was funny and we also watched Heartstopper which was so cute. It's the 3rd time Ellie has watched it all of the way through, she really does love it.

150/365 - 30th May
We were out shopping in Hull and visited Ferens Art Gallery where they have a Lego exhibition on. It was fun and interesting to see.

151/365 - 31st May
The food shop arrived. It was a fun one with mostly snacky bits and treats as we were eating out for most of the week.

152/365 - 1st June
Rain, although it was still pretty warm out. I did manage to get some washing dried out on the line late on, after tea time when the garden got all of the sun.

153/365 - 2nd June
The kids went on most of the rides at Fantasy Island at Ingoldmells near Skegness. It was such a fun day out. A big market and amusement park all in one. It did take some getting used to, walking around the stalls with rollercoasters going over your head.

154/365 - 3rd June
We had a lie in and a slow start to the day after a busy day on Thursday. I spent the morning watching the Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service before going to a beer festival in the afternoon.

I hope you have all had a good week?

This week my Word of the Week is: Spending! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Spending

I have chosen spending as this weeks word because I have enjoyed spending time with my girls and I'd even go as far as saying they enjoyed spending time with me. We've had lots of family time and we have been busy spending money too with days out, yummy food and shopping sprees.

Over the past week the girls have enjoyed spending time with their friends. Ellie went out on Friday night with about 10 of hers just for a walk. It was an epic walk, I've seen the videos. I love that her friend loves to make videos and puts them on YouTube. I always get to see what Ellie has been up to. lol Then on Tuesday she spent the day with another friend. Becky has been spending time with her friends too, had a fun day out and I finally got to meet them. They're so sweet.

We went to Hull on Monday for shopping and lunch out and had a great day. We went to the all you can eat place and we ate our money's worth. We had a look around Primark and for once I bought more than the girls. Some make up and the Hellfire top off Stranger Things.

We have had some time at home watching TV and just chilling. It was nice to spend time doing nothing and Ellie was so pleased that I finally got around to watching the Netflix show Heartstopper. It's so cute and we of course have all watched the new series of Stranger Things. It's brilliant! Our evenings have been spent watching the Britain's Got Talent finals. Some of my favourites have gone through to the grand final on Sunday.

Yesterday we got around to spending time with my dad and his partner for a day at the coast at Ingoldmells near Skegness. We didn't get to see much of the beach because the kids wanted to go on the rides and there was the biggest market to look around and of course the arcades. When we got home we went straight back out to a Jubilee event that was held locally and again had a great time.

Today I will be spending time with Stu and Ellie, poor Becky is missing out on a family beer festival which is on today because she has to sleep for work tonight. Hmmf. There are family games, music, food stalls and different beers and ciders to try. Eek!

I am looking forward to a weekend of spending no money as we have spent lots over the past week. It's been worth it, making memories and spending time with my family. Over the weekend I will also be spending time writing up a few blog posts that the last week has helped create. The past week was way too much to fit into just one.

In May I was grateful for... #365DaysOfGratitude

I have seen many people on social media list something every day that they are grateful for and thought I would join in and have on my private Facebook account every day and I thought I would share here too. I am hoping to continue it for the rest of the year and longer.

Reasons to be grateful

Day 121 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for a takeaway. Pizza, kebab meat and garlic bread! There's leftovers for tomorrow too.

Day 122 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for another bank holiday. I will be lost what day it is all week now though, it has felt so much like a Sunday today.

Day 123 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for strawberries. Had them on pancakes this morning and with meringues and cream tonight. It's the simple things which make me happy!

Day 124 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for trying new recipes. Today I made chicken coated in Pringles. The kids saw it on TikTok and it looked good. You simply cut the chicken breasts up, coat the pieces in flour then egg then smashed up Pringles and put in the oven to cook. My family loved it!

Day 125 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for corned beef toasties. Meal planning has gone out of the window tonight.

Day 126 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for having a day of catching up on things which I have let slip all week.

Day 127 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for hair dye. My hair has been in desperate need of re-dying for at least a week. It's looking more red than pink now.

Day 128 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for pj's. I've been in mine all day. (I did change them earlier when I had a bath, I'm not a total stinker.)

Day 129 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for a shopping trip with my dad and his partner Sarah. Morrisons, B&M, 2 different Home Bargains, Matalan, The Range, Iceland and a cash & carry. I finally managed to get some cooking oil too!

Day 130 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for my girls who aren't afraid of spiders and bugs. They are great at catching them and putting them outside, away from me!

Day 131 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for the kids going to bed. They have both been challenging today in different ways. We're all good now apart from the headache that I have.

Day 132 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for Becky getting a new phone! She treated herself and gave her old one to Ellie which she needed because her screen was cracked. They spent tonight setting their phones up. Downloading apps, adding ringtones and changing wallpaper. Hopefully their new phone cases will come tomorrow.

Day 133 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for a busy day and I'm going to be so grateful for my bed soon. I'm shattered!

Day 134 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for Eurovision! It is so much fun and a little bit batshit crazy! Obviously I want Sam Ryder, I remember him when he was just famous on TikTok but Moldova are my 2nd favourite. hehehe

Eurovision scores

Day 135 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for an early night. I'm finally having one.

Day 136 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful that the Johnny Depp V Amber Heard trial is back on TV. Her being questioned by Depp's lawyers has been interesting! It's had me shouting at the TV.

Day 137 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful that I got all gardening done that I wanted to do. Weeding, planting and moving a few plants.

Day 138 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for rain! I forgot to water the garden tonight and it needed some watering!

Day 139 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for ice cream! Got the food shop from Iceland and stocked up on ice cream and ice lollies, it certainly is the weather for it. I treated myself to a tub of the new Baileys ice cream.

Day 140 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for Friday. This week has flown over but I am always glad for the weekend.

Day 141 of #365DaysOfGratitude
Today I am grateful for more work being done in the garden. Stu has started sorting it out. Digging up a big bush, loads of paving slabs, stones and weeds. He's only done the corner but it's a good start.

(Ad - Gifted) The Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask - Review!

I always take the mickey out of my fella. For bed Stu always wears a sleep mask and when I wake him up he always looks terrified especially if I just pull the mask up. Oops. Stu struggles to sleep with any light in the room and at this time of year our bedroom gets the sun as soon as it comes up, even with the thick curtains that we have.

Recently we were sent the Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask to have a look at and for Stu to try out.

Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask

Darkness is one of the most important factors in good quality sleep; a regular light and dark cycle will let your circadian rhythm do it’s thing, telling your body when to sleep and when to wake. A sleeping mask helps you take control over this process and control over your sleep.

Echor was founded with one task in mind, to help people meet their true potential by facilitating a better night's sleep and enhanced wellbeing.

Coming in a sturdy box with pretty packaging the eye mask really is something special.

The Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask

When I opened the packaging I was quite surprised with how thick the mask was, it really is on the bulky side but to be honest that isn't a problem with it being so soft and padded. The feel of the material was so good and I knew it wouldn't irritate Stu's face and skin. He has had some in the past which were too fleecy or just too rough. With this the high-elastic foam inner & a silky smooth outer makes for a truly comfortable night’s sleep in any position.

The soft and ergonomic wings on either side of your nose prevent light from entering under the mask which give you total blackout. I tried it on and was really pleased with how dark it was.

Back of the Blackout Eye MaskAdjustable strap on the Blackout Eye Mask

The 3D Eye indentations relieve pressure on your eye lids and lashes ensuring total comfort and fresher eyes following sleep. It really is so soft around your eyes and comfortable to wear. I have been put off wearing sleep masks in the past because I don't like them touching my eyelashes or eyelids but you don't have that problem with this mask.

The mask is fully adjustable and simple to make it fit around your head. The adjustable elasticated strap offers a one size fits all solution for optimal comfort regardless of whether you like you eye mask to be secured tightly or loosely.

The Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask costs £17.99 which might seem a lot for an eye mask but I would say it is well worth the money and so would Stu. He has used it for a few nights and is very impressed with it. If you’re not happy with the Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask you can return it for a full refund within 30 nights.

Becky works night shifts and even with blackout curtains she sometimes finds it hard to sleep during the day and now she's considering buying herself one of these eye masks after trying Stu's.

We were sent the Echor Total Blackout Eye Mask free of charge in exchange for this blog post.
