365 Days Of Gratitude. In January I was grateful for...

The longest month is finally over and it wasn't actually that bad for us, just grey and dark but that's how January's usually go. December seems like such a long time ago. The days are getting longer, I've noticed on an evening it isn't getting dark until about 5pm and the sun has been shining a little bit more over the last week. It is just wishful thinking that it will last but I can hope.

I have seen many people on social media list something every day that they are grateful for and thought I would join in. I did this for the whole of last couple of years and it has really made me realise that even on the bad day's I have something to be grateful for.

Our weekly meal plan! 3rd - 9th February! #MealPlanningMonday

Our weekly meal plan

These Monday's seem to be flying around. Last weeks meal plan all went to plan. We did seem to have a lot of Gousto meals but it was because I got our delivery a day early the week before and on the normal day last week but it helped keep me on track, having the meals there ready to be cooked. We had the steak pie on Monday and it's all I have thought about since. My brother recommended a butchers in town, saying their pies are amazing and they indeed are. I am already thinking about when I can fit another into our meal plan.

I don't have much on this week. This week is going to be one I just have to get through before we have a couple of weeks with some fun things happening. The only plan I do have this week is to dye my hair! It desperately needs doing, the roots are coming through strong and there are far too many grey hairs for my liking. I of course will be staying some sort of red. I have got this new shampoo to try, a shampoo to use before I dye my hair so we'll see how that goes.

On the menu this week we have:

Monday - Gousto meal - Sesame Pork & Egg Fried Brown Rice. We have had this once before and loved it!
Tuesday - Gousto meal - Comforting Sausage & Apple Hotpot With Roasted Broccoli. This is a new meal for us and it sounds like such comfort food.
Wednesday - Gousto meal - Curried Lentil & Chicken Soup With Garlic Roti. Another new soup for us to try. My girls aren't too sure about the lentils but they are going to give it a try.
Thursday - Some sort of pie from the butchers in town with chips.
Friday - Fish, chips and mushy peas.
Saturday - Gousto meal - Bacon & Egg Bao Buns With Sriracha Ketchup. We love Bao Buns so this is bound to be a big hit.
Sunday - Sausage sandwiches!

What are you eating this week?

A photo every day for a year! 26th Jan - 1st Feb. Week 5 of #Project365

Happy Sunday! What have you got planned for today? I don't think I will be up to much as I stayed up last night watching WWE's Royal Rumble live event. As it was running on US time it didn't start until 11pm here and I said to myself that I was going to go to bed at 1am but I future me, writing this says that didn't happen. hehehe

I hope you have all had a good week, mine has been better than the week before. I've still not got my motivation back but I am plodding on. All the extra jobs on my to-do list are slowly getting done and I am keeping up with everything else, I will take that as a win!

Now for a photo every day!

Freeze dried candy and me
Haggis and Cooking Fever game
A blue sky
Pastries and WWE Smackdown

26/365 - 26th January
Have you tried Freeze Dried Candy before? Ellie made me buy some from Home Bargains as it's a thing! To me it tastes like a sugar cube with a little flavour and so sour. I like sweet things but this is just too sweet!

27/365 - 27th January
Just me. The sun was shining bright but it was still so cold. It was nice to have a walk out though. I went to my dad's to sort some things out on his computer. He is getting better with technology but sometimes struggles when it comes to dealing with emails.

28/365 - 28th January
Haggis, we tried it but we're not fans! It tastes good enough but the texture put us off.

29/365 - 29th January
I am still playing Cooking Fever now and again. I used to struggle to get gems now I am struggling to get enough coins to buy things. I refuse to use real money to help me along in the game so I just play and play to get what I need.

30/365 - 30th January
Another sunny day with a blue sky! Now we just need some warmer weather. I have noticed it's staying lighter for longer on an evening. Some nights it isn't getting dark here until almost 5pm. Yay!

31/365 - 31st January
A little treat, some mini Danish pastries. I picked the best one's before I offered the last couple to my family. hehehe

32/365 - 1st February
I had a day of watching Wrestling, I had to watch the weekly show Smackdown before the big event last night.

This week my Word of the Week is: Better! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Better

Happy February! The longest month is over! I am glad to say this week has been a better week than last week. There hasn't been one thing which has magically made everything better but lots of little things which have made life a little more enjoyable.

I say that life is less better but I have literally just had a phone call which could have ruined my day but I am getting better at not letting these things stress me out. I made a couple of phone calls and everything is good again. I am not letting the little things get to me as much, it is what it is and all that jazz.

Right back to my week, Ellie started with a cold on Thursday evening and it came at just the right time as we were staying home on Friday so she could have a lazy day. She was sneezing and had a sore throat but was fine in herself. By Saturday she was a little better, snotty but that was it. She has been a trooper this week, she just gets on with things when she is under the weather and powers through, she gets it from her dad. When I am poorly I sit around and feel sorry for myself but Stu just gets on with things. I am thinking to myself I better not catch the cold, I spend a lot of time with Ellie so it's a miracle that I haven't so far.

It turns out haggis tastes better than I thought it would, we had some during the week but I didn't like the texture, it was just too crumbly and weird. The kids were the same too but Stu ate it all up but he is a human dustbin, he'll eat anything. lol The kids said lets not try anything new for a while, next week is safe but the week after there is Venison on the menu! Eek!

Becky was booking a hotel during the week (she's having another trip away) on her phone and she told me the price and I thought that didn't sound right so I got her to log in on her laptop and double check everything. Something had gone wrong somewhere and she ended up paying £130 which was better than the £170 something which she was going to pay when she was looking on her phone.

The weather here has been better than it has been, well as long as you ignore the storm over the weekend. The last few days have been sunny and bright here and I am loving it. I've made a point of getting out even though it has still been chilly.

I have no real plans for today apart from staying up late tonight to watch WWE's Royal Rumble live event. Usually the live events don't start until 1am but as it's a big one it's starting earlier. I won't be able to stay up and watch it all but even watching a little will be good as I don't usually get to.

How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!
