The longest month is finally over and it wasn't actually that bad for us, just grey and dark but that's how January's usually go. December seems like such a long time ago. The days are getting longer, I've noticed on an evening it isn't getting dark until about 5pm and the sun has been shining a little bit more over the last week. It is just wishful thinking that it will last but I can hope.
I have seen many people on social media list something every day that they are grateful for and thought I would join in. I did this for the whole of last couple of years and it has really made me realise that even on the bad day's I have something to be grateful for.

What were your grateful for in January?
Oh that one about your dad being soft with your kids pretty sums up every parent/child versus same parent/grandchild relationship I know! Whenever I point that out to my mom or my mother in law I'm told that that is the whole fun of having grandkids-- to spoil them and not have to be the one setting rules and things anymore. I have been noticing it staying a bit lighter later too and I am loving that.
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely things to be grateful for even though January felt like 100 days long! I was very grateful for a warm safe home last month, especially with the snow and storms.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading why you were grateful for. The little things are easy to ignore, but they do make our lives better and we should take a moment to acknowledge that. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love reading your gratitude posts each month. There really are so many things to be grateful for even on the hard days. Hot beverages have been a favorite of mine this month, too... we've been having a much colder winter here in Georgia than usual!
