We have had a great weekend, especially Friday. I am going to blog about it soon as it was a pretty fun evening for Stu and I having a night away. I didn't realise how much a needed a break from my normal life until I had it. Don't get me wrong I love my life but sometimes it can get a bit monotonous and a night away was just what I needed to feel better about everything, plus this week is half term break for my youngest from college so I have the pleasure of her company all week which I am looking forward to. We have a couple of plans but nothing set in stone, we're going to see how we feel and we're just winging it.
Last weeks meal plan went a big higgledy piggledy, I was that keen to try the Venison, pork & red wine pie (which I wasn't a fan of) we ended up having it on Tuesday instead of the Wednesday, that was OK as I just swapped the meals around. We had the takeaway on Thursday, Stu and I had a meal out on Friday night and we had the Valentine's Day meal deal from Asda on Saturday. I was making the most of Stu being off work. We worked out for the last 17 plus years we have either had a takeaway on Valentine's Day or I have cooked, it's about time Stu had a try at cooking. hehehe
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Gousto meal - Sausage & Mushroom Pizza With Garlic & Herb Dip. A nice easy way to start the week!
Tuesday - Gousto meal - Beef Chuck Stew With Homemade Thyme Dumplings. I love dumplings and it has been ages since we've had them so I had to pick this recipe!
Wednesday - Gousto meal - BBQ Pork Belly With Apple Slaw And Chips.
Thursday - Gousto meal - Salt & Pepper Chicken Thigh With Egg Fried Rice.
Friday - Sausages, chips and baked beans.
Saturday - Gousto meal - Apple Crumble-Inspired Cinnamon Toast. This is something different from Gousto. It is a breakfast meal but it will do for our evening meal. We always like some sort of treat meal on a Saturday.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.
What are you eating this week?
We would LOVE this for our weekly meal plan. Pork belly and stew - 2 of my favourite things. We are having Butter chicken tonight - not sure after that!
ReplyDeleteThat Apple Crumble Cinnamon toast has me intrigued! Going to be a yummy week.
ReplyDeleteCould there be enough pork belly to please us all? One of my favorites. It sounds like it made a lovely meal. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you got time together with Stu while he was off. I'm glad you had a nice Valentines.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you had a night out and it was just what you needed :). Your meals all sound good! I first read this before I went to the grocery store (I tried to respond earlier but something is seriously wrong with my Chromebook and it didn't go through) and it was just what I needed to read to think about dinners!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a break and to have your college kid home this week. Enjoy!
