This week my Word of the Week is: Nothing! #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

Nothing

This has been a week of nothing and I am not complaining one bit. Nothing exciting has happened, I have had nothing much to do apart from the usual housework and there has been no little dramas which have been popping up all year so far! Nothing! It has been nice to have a break from busyness, appointments and phone calls. I would say worry as well but with no little dramas happening that has made me worry too. I can't win, I've stopped letting things bother me as so much when they are happening but when nothing happens I still worry. lol

Becky had nothing planned for her day off so decided to tackle tidying her bedroom, it was a big job but she got it done after a few hours! She is loving having nothing on the floor, she said it feels like a whole new bedroom. I have so far refrained from saying I told you so. lol I got nothing in the washer on Tuesday as Becky decided to wash all of her dirty clothes, 4 loads later and that job was done and she has even got everything put away!

Ellie went to college during the week as normal and only realised when the bus pulled up that she had forgotten her lanyard with her college ID on and bus pass! She had enough in her bank to pay for the bus but nothing else as she had moved everything to her savings the night before. I text her when I spotted her lanyard and sent her some money for lunch and the bus home. I never thought of telling her just to transfer some money from her savings. Doh! It is a lesson learned but hopefully there will be no next time.

Yesterday was busiest day of my week. Ellie and I went to see my dad, my brother was there so we all had lunch together and talked about nothing in particular but it was nice. Lots of laughs and only a little bit of gossiping about people. When I got home I caught up on some blogging, had a tidy up and then had the food shop delivered where nothing was substituted. Hooray!

We have nothing much planned for the weekend apart from watching the Newcastle United's football match tonight. They are doing well, made it to the final of one cup during the week and tonight's match is the 4th round of the F.A Cup against Birmingham. If you asked the girls if they like football they would say no way but they are so interested in it lately. Ellie can tell you who Newcastle are playing next and Becky has even got an app on her phone to keep up with the latest scores. lol

How has your week been? I hope you have had a good one! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!

  1. It sounds like you’ve had a wonderfully calm and refreshing week! Sometimes, those "nothing" weeks are exactly what we need to recharge, even if it does come with a bit of worry. It's nice to hear that Becky tackled her room and got things organized—it must feel great to have that sorted! And it’s always the little moments with family, like the lunch with your dad, that make the week special. Best of luck to Newcastle United in their match tonight! Hope the weekend continues to be just as relaxed. 😊

  2. I don't know how old your daughters are, but the sudden interest for football makes me think of a boyfriend in view, or already there !

    1. They're 22 and 17. I think the only reason they are so interested is that the teams myself and my partner like seem to be doing well for once and we are watching more on the TV. lol

  3. Your week sounds good to me! My girls have just started to get into football (American!) because our local pro team is good and my youngest daughter's college team is very good (it just won the national championship!) so I can relate!! Enjoy your weekend :).

  5. It's lovely to have drama free weeks. I used to think my life had to be full all the time with stuff but now I enjoy nothing. Despite Graham's best efforts he never converted anyone into football in this house, although I do like big matches

  8. A week of nothing is nice sometimes! Definitely good to have a break from little dramas, busyness and appointments. Sounds like Becky had a very productive day sorting out her bedroom. Lovely to have lunch with your dad and brother and always good when there are no substitutions with the shopping order. Oops to Ellie forgetting her lanyard - hopefully she won't do that again. #WotW
