The Wednesday Hodgepodge! #4

It's Wednesday again which means it's time to join in with the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond! Each week there are 6 questions, we answer and then link up. Simple!

Question marks on paper crafts

1. What area of your life feels like you're stuck in a Groundhog's Day loop, doing the same thing over and over? Does it bother you or is that just how life is in this particular season?
My first thought was laundry! It is never ending! Just before I started writing this blog post I put another wash on, moved the clean, wet clothes to the dryer and the clean and dry clothes into the dining room to be folded and put away, that is a job for tomorrow. There is always laundry to do in this house, I know when my girls leave home there will be less to do and I can't believe I am saying this but I will probably miss this chore.

2. Something that makes your heart skip a beat?
For me it’s those little moments of magic in everyday life! Like when someone laughs at a joke I made, a perfectly timed coincidence, thinking of a song and then hearing it play, getting a surprise package or letter, catching a perfect sunset, the first sip of my favourite drink. It's the little things!

3. Do you wear your heart on your sleeve or are you more of a closed book? Elaborate.
I’d say I’m a mix of both. I write a lot of my thoughts and feelings here on my blog but then there are some things that I never share. In real life I am the same, I am a heart on my sleeve type of person with people who are close to me but for others I am a closed book!

4. According to Prevention Magazine, these are 25 of the best foods for heart health - wild salmon, sardines, liver, walnuts, almonds, chia seeds, oatmeal, blueberries, coffee, red wine, green tea, soy milk, dark chocolate, raisins, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, whole grains, apples, oranges, grapefruit, avocado, avocado oil, olive oil

Which five do you include in your diet most often? Are there any foods on the list you simply cannot abide?
It seems I am really bad at eating foods which are good for my heart. Oops. I only really drink coffee and eat sweet potatoes, whole grains, apples, oranges and olive oil. I hate liver, I always remember when I was a kid my brother and I sat around the table not being able to leave until we at the liver on our plate, we were stubborn and didn't eat it and were never served it again. I am not a fan of blueberries either but will eat most of the other things mentioned but probably not enough of them.

5. What was the last piece of furniture you bought? Is there a piece of furniture you need/want to purchase this year?
It has been ages since we bought any furniture, the last I remember buying was a set of drawers for the bathroom when I was decorating it a couple of years ago. I don't have any plans to buy any furniture this year, everything we have seems to be lasting well.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am regretting my life choices today (Sunday). I stayed up to watch the WWE's Royal Rumble until just after 3:30am didn't get out of bed until lunch time which has knocked me, it feels like it should be morning but it's mid-afternoon now. I hope I sort my sleep pattern out without too much trouble. The Royal Rumble was fab though. hehehe

  1. I should have answered laundry, too! I didn't even think of that but as I'm typing your response, I can hear our dryer tumbling away.

  4. Oof! That is late (or early! LOL) to stay up. I feel like laundry is never ending too-- that and dishes. We create a lot of dishes with all of using 99% of our meals at home. I can't even remember the last piece of furniture we bought but I'm guessing it was the set for the basement.

  6. Well, technically now there are just two of us living here full time, but it still seems like the laundry is never ending. We're outside a lot and then you want to change, or you exercise and then change so it seems like more laundry than two people should have! I am typically early to bed and early to rise. If I sleep in at all my whole day feels off. Have a great week!

  7. A few people said laundry and I probably should have. I tend to ONLY do it on Sunday but the occasional load gets thrown in during the week or else I just make the kids do their own!

  8. I can see where laundry would be the answer for anyone with kids still in their homes. I would have been sitting with you in front of liver uneaten! The one and only time it was set in front of me was when we were touring with a music group and we stayed with locals. The dear widow in Gravesend served me and my now husband liver. He likes liver but I had to try to swallow small bites without chewing it so I wouldn't gag. I managed to eat it all not wanting to offend our kind hostess. Happy Hodgepodge to you. Hope your sleep pattern is back to normal by now.

  10. I don't eat as much heart healthy items as I should, either. And I feel the same way about liver. YUCK! Only one of my siblings liked liver but that was enough for my mom to serve it a few times a year.
