A photo every day for a year! 8th -14th February Week 7 of #Project365

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a good weekend. Yesterday was Valentine’s Day and Stu and I had the most romantic of days, shopping for paint. I know, try not to be jealous. Hahaha. It wasn’t the whole day. We actually had a really lovely time. We had a wander around the shops, picked up the paint we needed for the house and a few other bits that weren't on our list. We grabbed a bite to eat while we were out but the best bit of the day was that the sun was shining! It has felt like forever since we saw a proper bright day, so it really did lift my mood. We finished the day having a lovely meal at home.

Today we have absolutely no plans and I could not be happier about it. After being out and about yesterday and knowing we have a busy week ahead, today is all about doing as little as possible. PJs all day, a lot of TV and snacks!

Now for a photo every day!

Cool Runnings on our TV
Photo frames and the lampshade in the living room
Cobwebs and Dewberry products
My eldest girls flowers and lunch out at Costa

Using the wise words of Sanka: "I’m feeling very Olympic today." Hehehe. I spent a good few hours on Sunday watching the Winter Olympics. After watching the athletes flying down icy tracks at ridiculous speeds, I decided there was only one film we could possibly watch next, Cool Runnings! It had to be done. Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it's bobsled time!

Last week I sorted through some photos and chose a few to get printed. I take so many photos but they just sit there forgotten about. This week I finally put them into the frames in the living room. It’s such a small thing but there were fresh memories on the wall and new smiles looking back at us.

I remember constantly changing light bulbs years ago, now they seem to last forever. So when the living room light started flickering on Tuesday, I knew its time was up. I can usually sit in the dark but the gloomy weather made it too dark and the thought of going into the garage to get a new bulb filled me with dread because of all the spiders, so I stole the bulb from the dining room instead. Eventually, Ellie went into the spider headquarters and retrieved a new bulb. What a hero!

This photo pretty much sums up my outdoor life lately. Standing at the back door, looking out. That’s about as far as I’m willing to go. The cobwebs behind the back gate were covered in tiny rain droplets and they did look quite pretty. Tell me I'm not the only one fed up with all the rain?

I smell like the 90s. Hehehe. I treated myself to some Dewberry spray from The Body Shop and was hit with nostalgia! The second I sprayed it, I was transported straight back to my teenage years. I had to get the shower gel too, a little treat for no reason other than I wanted it.

Becky, my eldest received some beautiful flowers for Valentine’s Day and they came with a teddy as well. She was so happy. The flowers were stunning and brightened up the whole room. Then yesterday I cam home to a bunch that Stu had ordered and had delivered for me! I felt very loved!

Stu and I had a romantic meal out, well as romantic as it gets in Costa. Hahaha It was nice it being just the two of us and the bacon sandwich that I had was pretty good! I could just eat it again!

  1. Aww glad you got the sunshine yesterday too. Our Valentine "date" was lunch at a café in nearby Chingford where I had a sausage and egg sandwich. So unhealthy but so yummy lol. Your flowers are lovely.

  2. Shopping for paint would be something I would enjoy,..not so much Sam, but he would do it for me. I think your bacon sandwich sounds pretty good. I had cottage cheese and peaches and Sam had veggies. We were really celebrating.. lol. Have a beautiful Sunday dear friend.

  3. I'm glad you got a dry day and some sunshine at last. It really was lovely yesterday after a week of grey skies.
I've been wearing Dewberry since I bought it last week, I can't believe it smells exactly the same as it used to. It's nice to treat yourself.
Becky's flowers are beautiful, I love that combination of colours.
I don't think I have ever watched cool runnings properly I really must as I love anything with John Candy in.

  4. It sounds like a good week. I'm so tall I could easily change light bulbs but I can't stretch anymore, not even the few inches I need to lift up my arms. Thankfully we keep our bulbs in the kitchen cupboard and we buy the expensive ones that last forever (Well, a very long time) I've been enjoying the olympics too. Some of those slopes are so high I get vertigo watching on tv! I'm glad you and Stu had a nice Valentines day, even if it was Costa, just spending time together is real important.

  7. Ah Stu's an old romantic. We didn't celebrate at all, we haven't for years. Our bulbs in the kitchen are the annoying ones as they're halogen so they don't last very long at all and you can't get an LED version. Whoever made the choice to put those in over a strip light or something else, didn't make a good choice.

  11. Shopping for paint on Valentine's day made me smile, but it does sound fun. You enjoyed each other's company, and that's what matters.
The bouquet is beautiful, lucky Becky! Love your new pictures arrangement (wanted to say, where is Stu, then realised he's spot in the centre with you).

  12. My scent from The Body Shop was cucumber melon; I swear I had nearly everything in that line. Becky's flowers are lovely!

  13. I bought frames a couple of weeks ago, the photos are selected, but I am still to put them in frames and on the wall. You are right, this makes such a difference.
The flowers are lovely. I think shopping for paint and having a light meal in Costa is a sign of love, much more than something traditional, more suitable for new couples.

  14. I think your Valentine's outing sounds lovely. Today I went with Paul for a twenty minute drive, each way, to see if he could get his iPad fixed. He stopped for gas, then we came home. I didn't even get out of the car, but it was nice to spend some time together. Your menu plan sounds fun! One of these days I'll be that organized!

  15. I don't mind spiders, it's the element of surprise that gets me. I was a Body Shop Musk girl. I'm also more of a Starbucks and Caffè Nero fan, I find costa too bitter

  16. How lovely to get some new photos printed and framed. I love that Dewberry products are back at the Body Shop. I loved them as a teen so definitely need to go and get some myself! What beautiful Valentine's flowers. #project365
