My top 5 favourite Marvel movies!

I wouldn't say I am a big movie buff but I do have a lot of favourite films and I have been listing them for a few months. You can read about my favourite action movies, Sci-Fi movies, my favourite Animated movies and my favourite musical movies and my favourite disaster movies. In the run up to Halloween I shared my favourite scary movies and the week after I shared my not so scary movies which were more up my street for the spooky season, in the run up to Christmas I shared my favourite Christmas movies my favourite sport movies, I had my favourite movies to cry to then there was my top 5 movies that traumatised me as a child and most recently I shared my favourite summer movies.

This time it's all about Marvel movies, it has been a long time coming simply because it has taken me so long to pick my top 5. I love the Marvel movies, admittedly some of them are not as great as others but I've watched them all, more than once!

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Avengers: Endgame is not just a movie, it's an event! This epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga brings together over a decade of storytelling ending in a showdown that sees Earth's mightiest heroes facing off against Thanos, the Mad Titan. The film's emotional weight, coupled with jaw dropping action sequences and fan favourite moments, makes it one of my favourite movies ever!!

Every Christmas I wrap one of the girls presents watching Avengers: Infinity War and the next day I will wrap the rest of the presents watching Endgame! They are the perfect length. I never get bored of watching and Spiderman makes me cry every time! 

Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther" is a ground breaking film that transcends the superhero genre. Directed by Ryan Coogler it was the first Marvel movie to feature a predominantly Black cast and crew, bringing African culture and heritage to the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film’s exploration of identity, leadership and social responsibility resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike.

I loved how beautiful Wakanda was, the storytelling was just brilliant but what makes it sad is that Chadwick Boseman the man who played Black Panther sadly passed away from cancer before the 2nd movie was filmed which will always make the first one my favourite.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Spider-Man No Way Home is a love letter to fans of the webslinger, uniting different generations of Spider Man movies into a single narrative. The film explores the consequences of Peter Parker’s dual life as a hero and a teenager, blending nostalgia with a fresh, engaging story. The return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Spider Men is a total cinematic event!

I have loved all the Spiderman movies but this one is my favourite just for all the old Spiderman. hehehe Doctor Strange is in it, I am not his biggest fan but there was just enough of him to add that little extra to the movie! 

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy was a gamble that paid off spectacularly. Directed by James Gunn, this film introduced audiences to a ragtag group of misfits and turned them into beloved characters. With its unique blend of humour, heart, and a killer soundtrack Guardians of the Galaxy brought a refreshing change of pace to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I always think of the likes of Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Captain America and even Thor as the grown ups of Marvel and the Guardians as the naughty kids. They are just brilliant, they never fail to make me laugh out loud. 

Iron Man (2008)

Iron Man is where it all began. The film launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe and set the tone for what was to come. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man was a game changer, bringing charisma, humour, and depth to the role. The film’s blend of cutting edge visual effects, sharp dialogue, and character driven storytelling made it an instant classic.

Iron Man was the first ever Marvel movie which I watched and that is what got me into the superhero genre. He is just brilliant!!

The birthday's are done with for another year.

Ahh! All the birthdays that I have to plan are done for the year. In 3 and a half weeks there's Stu's, Ellie's then Becky's. I always say that this time of year is more expensive than Christmas. lol

First up there's was Stu's birthday which I wrote about last month, it wasn't the birthday I had planned for him but thankfully it turned out better even though we were worn out by the end of it. It turns out Stu's birthday set the trend for the birthdays this year as we had things to do on both of the girls birthdays.

Ellie's birthday was at the end of August and she turned 17. Where has my baby gone? She had a fantastic day despite it also not being the day I had planned. She had a doctors appointment in the afternoon which meant we couldn't really have a day out and the Chinese takeaway was shut for their holidays so all our plans were scuppered for a few minutes at least.

She decided she wanted a prawn cocktail salad for tea, there was of course cake afterwards and we would go to the all you can eat buffet place the next day. Stu and I made a point of popping in to see my dad on the way home from town as he never see's Ellie all dressed up. My brother didn't recognise her. hehehe It worked out really well celebrating her birthday over a couple of days. Becky on the other hand had a whole week of celebrating.

Becky's birthday was the beginning of this month and she turned 22! We had made plans and then things came up and our plans had to change. It was fine, we've got used to it now. It didn't matter, Becky still had a fantastic day!! I said as she is older that she wasn't getting many presents but of course I couldn't resist buying her more than I'd planned.

Becky and I left Stu painting the kitchen and we headed off into town for a walk around the shops, Stu and Ellie followed along later and we had a lovely meal out. We were too full for dessert and headed home, that was until we decided to head to our local pub and see what desserts they had on offer. They always do great desserts. Stu had Ferrero Rocher gateaux, I had Terry's chocolate orange cake and cream, Becky has sticky toffee pudding and custard and Ellie her usual brownie and ice cream.

On Tuesday Becky headed off with her girlfriend for a city break in Newcastle. They didn't have any big plans apart from look around the city, hit the shops and have a big night out. As much as I worry about my girls I didn't worry that Becky was about 135 miles away. I know she's sensible and she did keep in touch. I did chuckle at her when they went out to eat. They were going to go to TGI Friday's but they saw the prices and went somewhere cheaper. The beds in the hotel were like sleeping on clouds and she was glad that I nagged at her to take a coat, it's colder up north. hehehe

My birthday is next, in November and I am not going to make any plans although I have noticed that some of the pubs are starting to do their Christmas food around my birthday so I might fit in a Christmas dinner or two.

Our weekly meal plan! 16th - 22nd September! #MealPlanningMonday

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I had high hopes for our meal plan last week but I really shouldn't have planned anything knowing that we were decorating the kitchen. We didn't eat many of the meals that I had planned but we did use the ingredients to make other things which were quicker and used less of the kitchen. We ate well, I might have got a bit ranty in the kitchen when things weren't where they should be, why would they? The microwave spent most of the week on the floor, the air fryer was on the dining room table and at one point I was sat in the living room peeling potatoes. At least I had easy access to all the cupboards as all the doors were taken off to be painted. lol

The kitchen is looking amazing though, I will have a blogpost with some before and after pictures soon. We have decided we could probably do with some different coloured lino as the brown is just not looking right in the kitchen now as it's mostly grey. 

This week should be more back to normal, there's no more birthday's until November, the upheaval of decorating the kitchen is over with and I am determined to find more of a routine for myself. I seem to be all over the place with Stu and Becky having holidays from work. I've not found my groove yet but I am determined to by the end of this month.

Monday - Gousto meal - Chinese Style Chicken Curry With Egg Fried Rice And Chips.

Tuesday - Gousto meal - Pork & Beef Tacos With Charred Pepper & Herb Salsa.

Wednesday - Gousto meal - One Pot Rustic Sausage & Butter Bean Stew.

Thursday - Gousto meal - Cheeseburger Rice Bake With Saucy Relish.

Friday - Scampi, chips and peas.

Saturday - Pizza.

Sunday - A Sunday lunch of some sort.

Week 37 of #Project365 8th - 14th September. A photo every day for a year!

Usually I get my Project 365 blog post written up during the day, usually at around lunchtime but here I am at half past seven last night just getting around to it. Things have been busy here. It was Becky's birthday, we've had 2 meals out, Becky had a few days visiting Newcastle, we decorated the kitchen, there's just a few more little things to do before it's finished, yesterday we spent most of the day at my dad's and I have been trying to keep on top of the housework and all my normal jobs.

252/365 - 8th September

I took some before pictures of the kitchen, before we started decorating! It is looking totally different now! My dad popped in to see the progress yesterday and was amazed with the change.

253/365 - 9th September

The painting began! I wasn't too keen on the teal colour but it looks so much better when it had dried on the walls.

254/365 - 10th September

The birthday girl! Becky turned 22 during the week, she had a great day and loved all of her presents. We of course went out for a meal to celebrate.

255/365 - 11th September

Hailstones! Can you believe it! Of course it came just at the time I had to leave to pick Ellie up from college. Stu took pity on me and he did the honours. A few minutes after he left the house they got even heavier and there was thunder and lightning too. Eek! 

256/365 - 12th September

An empty bus is so welcome on a morning, coming home after being on the bus that goes to college with all of the teenagers when I drop Ellie off. The silence is just heavenly! 

257/365 - 13th September

Baby Guinness! We had a meal out and finished it off with a couple of shots. These are my favourite.

258/365 - 14th September

We went to my dad's. Ellie was happy to pose for a picture.
