This week my Word of the Week is:
What a week! Following on from last weeks Word of the Week Cold I caught Stu's cold! I started with it on Monday evening but haven't felt that poorly. I was full of snot by Tuesday and by Thursday is was more of a cough and still is. I've tested and it's not Covid so it wasn't all bad. I plodded on and didn't let it ruin my week.
First off, over last weekend it was my blogs birthday. It turned 12! How am I still blogging? I have never stuck to a hobby for this long. I want to say thank you again to everyone who reads, comments and shows their support. It really does mean the world to me. Like I said in a post earlier on the week I have had a shaky year when it comes to blogging and at one point was set to give it all up but now, no chance! I have lots more to say here on my little space on the internet.
I had the best birthday! I was well and truly spoilt rotten! I went to the pub with Becky and a friend at lunchtime, had a small bite to eat and a few drinks. Later on Stu and Ellie arrived and we had a lovely family meal. When our bellies were full we went home where Stu and I got changed and then whizzed off for a night away before we caught the train to York Christmas Market.
My logic was that staying in a hotel would be easier than having to get up at about 5am to get an early bus to the train station. We didn't have to get up until 7am and there was the free breakfast so paying the extra for the hotel was worth the money. It's the first time that we've left the girls at home and they had a great time. They had 3 takeaways! Taco Bell, Subway and then the chip shop! Stu and I were gone for less than 24 hours. lol They did some washing and tidied up so I have no complaints.
I have always wanted to go to a Christmas market and had read York is one of the best and it didn't disappoint. We ate, drank and bought lots of treats! I will be writing more about it when I have had a rest. I walked miles yesterday and we didn't get home until later than we'd planned because of the buses being silly.
I hope you have all had a good week! I am of course linking up with Anne who blogs at Raisie Bay for her Word of the Week linky!
Yay, Happy Birthday (almost) Birthday Twin...it's Angela's birthday too, another Word of the Weeker. I'm glad you had such a lovely time in York. I'm thinking of having a party next year...it's the big 60 for me, how on earth did I get so old, where did the years go!! I used to be worried about getting old, but not anymore. I think my kids would be the same if I left them for 24 hours, they love their take outs, lol. Star often orders herself a Mc Ds for lunch! Eldest son ordered himself a kebab the other day. And Boo and Little Man love their Greg's pasties. I hope you're having a relaxing weekend.
