Happy Friday! Last week I wasn't feeling too great, I was feeling down for no real reason but like a lot of people said I would probably feel better this week and I have. I haven't done anything different but I seem to have got out of my mood! Phew! I have lots of favourites to share this week and of course I am linking up with Erika and Andrea.
I think me feeling happier this week is down to the sun shining, it has been grey and gloomy for the last couple of weeks but this week the sun has came out, almost every day! Life always feels better when the sun is shining! It has been colder although I left the house on Monday with my big coat on took about 10 steps and came in and changed to my lighter one. I'm glad I did or I would have been sweating and this jacket went better with the dress I was wearing so win, win!
Central Heating!
As much as the sun has been shining like I said it has been colder so we have had the central heating on for half an hour on an evening. That's all it takes now to warm downstairs! Our house is that old it can't have cavity wall insulation so last year we had insulated plaster board adding to our living room wall and it has felt warmer ever since.
Family meals!
We don't get to eat together as a family every evening like we used to so when we do eat together it feels so special. Tuesday evening was one of those times! My girls and I were in the kitchen. Ellie and I did the cooking, Becky was at the sink washing the dishes. My fella came in from work and I dished up our meal and it was just a lovely family moment. I spent some time with the girls and they were being nice to each other for once and then eating a meal we'd all made which we thoroughly enjoyed. Perfect!!
Wrapping presents!
I made a start on wrapping the Christmas presents that I have already bought. Partly to see how much the girls have already got and partly so there's one less thing to worry about in December! I of course watched Avengers: Infinity War! Years ago I realised it is the perfect length movie to wrap half of the presents and it has now become a yearly tradition. When I wrap the rest of the presents I will watch Avengers: End Game!
I have been around my family and made a plan for the rest of the year. Writing down dates in my diary when my fella and my eldest are at work, when my youngest is in and finishes college for the year, when they have their Christmas work meals, when we're visiting family and friends, meals out, days out, when we're going shopping, and cinema trips. There is a lot of planning to do and a lot to fit in to work around my families busy lives! I am sure some things will change but we have a basic plan for what is going to be happening over the next 6 or so weeks!
New hair!
I have been holding off dying my hair, I wanted to get rid of as much of the previous colours as I could before I dyed my hair red again. I don't get my hair professionally dyed, I always do it at home myself. I have of course had a few disasters over the years but I have got better at it. I don't get dye everywhere now and I usually manage to get all of my hair covered. I will take that as a win! This was it when it was freshly dyed and was still wet, I like to let it air dry. After putting bleach on and then a dye not putting heat on it can only be a good thing.
Advent Calendars!
I bought our advent calendars this week! I don't care that my fella, myself and my eldest are adults, we still get one each! I bought the normal chocolate one's. Dairy Milk for Stu, Celebrations for Becky and Reese's for me. Ellie chose a Swizzles one with lots of chewy sweets in. A few weeks ago I bought Ellie a Hello Kitty one with lots of little figures in from Shein and said to Becky she was just getting a chocolate one this year as she's too old. Well mum guilt kicked in, I always like to treat my girls the same despite their age so I ordered Becky a coffee one, it was only just over £12 which was better than the alcohol one she wanted at over £100. lol
What have you loved over the last week?
So glad that you are feeling better this week! I am in awe of your Christmas shopping/wrapping already done, you are so organised!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Reece's even made an advent calendar! Look at you all wrapped and organizing the next 6 weeks. Future you is going to be so thankful you were so on top of things so nice and early.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've had a much better week, it's nice that you got to all eat together I think I will miss that when my two are older. I just treated myself to a Reece's advent, it has daily competitions inside it this year too.
ReplyDeleteYou are so ahead of me on the shopping and the planning! We do have Thanksgiving here first, in my defense. lol! I love that you do advent calendars!
