Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge!

Yesterday I took my two girls along to the local library.....

They'd both brought leaflets home from school before they finished for the holidays about the Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge and were eager to sign up for it....

Every year, thousands of families all over the country take part in the UK’s biggest reading event for children in libraries, the Summer Reading Challenge, run by the charity The Reading Agency.

The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children aged four to eleven. It is run in very nearly all libraries in the UK and it is completely free.

Every year there’s a different theme. The aim of the challenge is to get children to read six books from their library during the summer holidays.

Both my girls got their starter packs which included activity sheets, stinky stickers and a certificate....

Next time they go they get a glow in the dark bookmark, stickers and more activity sheets then the third time they get a keyring, stickers, activity sheets a certificate and a medal for completing the challenge....

Go to your local library during the summer holidays – the sooner you go the longer your child will have to read six books. Staff will enrol your child and give them a membership pack.....
