Teen Beach Movie Soundtrack - Review

Did you watch the television premiere of "Teen Beach Movie" on the Disney Channel on Friday? We did and we loved it!! It's the new film which Becky want's to watch over and over and she has since Friday....lol

"Teen Beach Movie" introduces confident, resilient surfer McKenzie and her carefree boyfriend Brady, a fan of the retro surf musical movie, "Wet Side Story." On the morning of McKenzie's planned departure for boarding school, she and Brady catch one last epic wave which mysteriously carries them right into "Wet Side Story," circa 1962, where they meet Seacat, Giggles, Rascal and Cheechee, among others. Amidst the spontaneous song and dance, there's trouble in paradise -- it's bikers versus surfers for control of the local hangout but Mack and Brady unwittingly interfere with the movie's star-crossed plot, one that would pair a surfer (the teen matinee idol Tanner) and a biker (Lela, the sister of Butchy, the biker gang's leader). Typical of the teen beach movie genre, a kooky subplot has mad scientists Les Camembert and Dr. Fusion scheming to alter weather patterns and take over the local hangout and then, the world.

We were lucky enough to be sent a copy of the soundtrack to listen to....The soundtrack features 12 new songs performed by Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps and the cast.....

I actually recognised Ross Lynch from the Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally which gave me 'cool mum point's' with Becky...lol

On the cd we have.....

1. Oxygen – Maia Mitchell
2. Surf Crazy – Spencer Lee, Kelly Hawkes and Cast
3. Cruisin For a Bruisin Ross Lynch, Grace Phipps, Jason Evigan
4. Falling for Ya – Grace Phipps
5. Meant to Be Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Spencer Lee
6. Like Me Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Spencer Lee & Cast
7. Meant to Be Reprise 1 Grace Phipps, Spencer Lee
8. Can t Stop Singing Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell
9. Meant to Be Reprise 2 Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell
10. Surf s Up – Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell & Cast
11. Coolest Cats in Town – Spencer Lee, Grace Phipps, Jason Evigan
12. Surf Crazy Finale Cast

I'd say the songs are a mixture of surf rock, Motown R&B, rockabilly and pop and are very catchy and so easy to dance too!!

My favourites are Cruisin For a Bruisin & Meant to be!!

Becky said I'm being cruel trying to make her choose he favourite song as she likes them all....It was great to be able to sing along to the songs while watching it on TV!

The general feeling is we love it!!!

It is a bit of cheesy fun....Obviously being by Disney it's very child friendly!! Which is not a bad thing...There is no foul language, sexual innuendos or anything nasty....Perfect for young peoples ears!!

The soundtrack can be bought from the usual places...

I was sent a copy of Disney's "Teen Beach Movie" free of charge for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
