Last weeks meal plan went really well. The Baked Mushroom Stroganoff Tortiglioni was one of our favourite meals this week despite none of my family being keen on the idea of it to start with. I swung them around with a side of garlic bread, they at it all up and wanted more! The pancakes of course went down well and we had the carrot & coriander soup which is always a hit. The only bad thing was when I went to make the chicken on Thursday it smelled bad despite the use by date being the 6th. We didn't end up getting a chippy tea on Friday, we had pizza instead, just one's from the supermarket and they were good. I don't usually rate shop bought pizza from supermarkets but the stonebaked one's were really nice and bargain at 2 for £5.
I have been down with a cold for the last few days but I feel like I am over the worst of it. Becky had it before me and was fine within 4 days and it has been almost the same for me. One thing is when I get a cold I always get such a big appetite, I suppose it's our bodies way of fighting off the cold. I have felt like a Hungry Hippo eating everything in sight. lol On Saturday I had 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and snacks then my evening meal and more snacks. Oops.
On the menu this week we have:
Monday - Gousto meal - Hong Kong-Style Chicken & Mushroom Rice. This is a new meal for us but we really like all the rice dishes from Gousto.
Tuesday - Gousto meal - Roast Chicken Dinner With Yorkshire Puddings And Roasties. Last time I made this was the first time I made Yorkshire Puddings from scratch and they were good, this time they will be better!
Wednesday - Sausages, fried eggs, chips and baked beans! Not just any sausages, Black Pudding Porkers! I finally found some in Morrisons! They used to be a thing that we could only get when we lived up in the North East.
Thursday - Gousto meal - Bacon & Garlic Mushrooms With Creamy Mash.
Friday - Pizza.
Saturday - Gousto meal - Honey & Mustard Glazed Sausage Baguette. Gousto used to do the mini honey and mustard posh dogs, this one looks the same but is just bigger.
Sunday - A roast dinner of some sort.
What are you eating this week?
The other bloggers are getting tired of reading about your meals and snacks, they've been spreading rumors on other sites that you have food issues.
ReplyDeleteI've been sharing my meal plans for over 11 years and I've never had any complaints before. I think the only people with issues are those who try to spread negativity.
DeleteWell hello to the troll making her rounds! I happen to be inspired by your meal plans! Keep em coming girl and my is love to try those sausages! Yum!
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrea!
DeleteI look forward to seeing a picture of the (even better) Yorkshire Puds! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your meal inspiration! Hoping you are feeling better now and that you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, yes I am feeling a lot better now. Thank you.
DeleteNot sure if there is a Costco near you...it's a big box store. There was one near us (sort of) when we lived in the UK. Anyway, their frozen pizzas are good and even my hubs likes the crust. Very thin. I always keep some in the freezer. I make a slow cooker stroganoff everyone here likes and your post reminds me I should add that to the meal rotation as we haven't had it in a long while. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteNo, there's no Costco near us but I have heard good things about the store. It's somewhere that I would shop at given the chance.
DeleteI'm so sorry you're having a cold, but so glad you feel a little better already. I'm happy the supermarket pizza was good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you continue to feel better and love that you are so good at meal planning! I am eating randomly this week.
ReplyDeleteCarrot and Coriander Soup sounds good! #MMBC
