These Wednesday's seem to come around so quickly! It's Wednesday again which means it's time to join in with the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond! Each week there are 6 questions, we answer and then link up. Simple!
1. What do you love most about March?
There is so much to love about March! The days get longer, the sun shines more and it is starting to feel warmer outside, spring is just around the corner! My gas and electricity bills go down, we start eating lighter meals and get outside more! Here in the UK there's also pancake day which we had yesterday and Mother's Day at the end of the month!
2. Hey! Did you know March is National Celery Month? Do you like celery? What's something you make (or like to order out) that calls for celery?
I don't dislike celery but I don't go out of my way to eat it. I can't remember the last time I bought any or made anything with it in. My girls did used to love eating it with hummus but haven't had it in ages. Celery is something I would expect to get in our Gousto boxes but I don't even remember it being in those. Maybe it isn't as popular as it used to be?
3. _______________ is the soundtrack to my life right now.
I think I would have to go for happy songs as I feel good about life at the moment. Here Comes the Sun by the The Beatles, Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons and Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen!
4. Share a favorite motivational quote for overcoming challenges.
I have to go with the quote from Harry Potter! “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” It was Dumbledore who said that! I also like “When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what the storm is all about.” said by Haruki Murakami
5. The Hodgepodge lands on Ash Wednesday this year. Do you participate in Lent in some way? If so tell us more.
I don’t participate in Lent really unless you count the pancakes which we had yesterday on Shrove Tuesday.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I have a lot of random thoughts every hour, every day but when it comes to answering this question every week my mind goes blank and I struggle to come up with something!
I forgot about the gas and electricity bill going down- that is a great thing about March :). Your other items were so true as well! I feel the same way about celery as you. I'd never go out of my way to eat it. I do use it in several soups that I make in the winter. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI really like your quotes! Mother's Day in the U.S. is in May --I know this sounds ridiculous, but I assumed that Mother's Day was the same around the world.
ReplyDeleteI like the soundtracks of your life right now! Music is always important to me, and I go through phases with the music I listen to; right now I'm stuck on worship music and newer country. I have plans to attend a country music concert this summer with friends, and the tickets have already been bought! I'm excited about that and going to an outdoor concert. You made me laugh over number six! I feel the same a lot. I hope you have a great day, friend!
ReplyDeleteHappy March... oh I like your quotes. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe woke up to 10 inches of snow and wind, a true blizzard.

I didn't know there was a national celery month. I don't mind celery but I rarely eat it. Love that motivational quote!

I just paid our gas bill on Monday and yikes!! I have a lot of extra people in the house currently, plus we had the coldest month ever where the heat never stopped running, but still it was shocking. I love spring but the pollen here is ridiculous so that makes me love it a little less. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteGood point about the bills! I loved your answers. Those inspiring quotes are really inspiring and I had not heard either. Thanks for sharing those and enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYour soundtrack sounds wonderful! I do look forward to the lighter/longer days this month but we won't see much if any change in bills for at least another month since March can still be quite cold and dreary.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about all those lovely things in March, the brighter days just make everything seem better. Your soundtrack is so uplifting, mine is similar to yours. Walking on Sunshine is one of the best songs ever it cheers me up every time I hear it. For the random thought I usually just share something random that's caught my attention that week, you could even include a Meme if you are feeling stuck.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. That was a great quote!
