Share Our Lives! An average day in my life!

It's time to link up with the Share our Lives bloggers and this month's prompt is: A day in life, An average day! Last year I remember sharing a day in my life for this linky and it started great but didn't end too well, that was not an average day!

My days are usually so average, many would call boring but I am happy with them. When my youngest isn't at college my day's vary but on her college days my days are very much the same, especially when Becky is in bed sleeping for work and her night shifts. I have the house to myself and I can potter around.

White Clock Reading at 2:12

6:30am - Wake up! My alarm goes off and I make sure Ellie is out of bed. She is really good at getting herself up but I still like to wake up when she is up and about.

6:45am - I go downstairs, usually running to use the bathroom. We live in a very old house and our only bathroom is downstairs. I have a chat with Ellie before she leaves for the day and a scroll on social media before I have some breakfast.

Breakfast

7:45am - If Becky has been to work she usually gets in about now we have a little chat and catch up. If I am having a shower I will have one round about now. I go back upstairs to get dressed, dry my hair if needed, make my bed and put any washing away that needs putting away and tidy upstairs.

9am - I will make any phone calls that need making. I hate talking on the phone so getting the calls done at the start of the day gets them over and done with. I will tidy the kitchen, put a load of washing on, sort the clean washing out and have a tidy around the rest of downstairs. If the bathroom needs cleaning, the kitchen floor needs mopping, change the bedding or if the living room needs vacuuming I will do jobs like that.

Washing machine

10:30am - I am ready for a snack and a sit down by now. I will have a scroll on my phone. I will put the washing in the dryer or on the line from the washing machine and most likely put another load on to wash.

11:00am - Around this time I will finally switch my laptop on, share my blog post on social media and check my emails. I used to make a point of switching my laptop on as soon as I got up to share my latest blog post on social media and read what's going on in the world but now I don't rush. I will read and comment on some blogs, have a few games of Candy Crush and will be losing track of the time.

Candy Crush

1pm/1:30pm - I will have some lunch around this time and Stu will ring from work while he is on his lunch break, we will have a chat and catch up.

2pm - I will go and run any errands like going to the post office or shop for anything that we need. I need to get my daily dose of fresh air.

2:30pm - I will find something to do around the house, sort a cupboard or do some deep cleaning. Lately I have been spending more time out in the garden, getting jobs done outside.

4pm - I will spend some more time on my laptop, reading more blogs and even writing some of my own posts although I do tend to write most of them over the weekend now if I can.

5pm - By this time Ellie is in from college and I will have had a chat with her about her day. Stu will ring when he has got onto the bus home and we will have a chat.

6pm - I will be in the kitchen cooking our evening meal when Becky gets up for work and the girls and I will have a chat. I will make sure Becky is fed, ready for work and continue cooking and tidying the kitchen.

7pm - Hopefully by 7pm Stu will be home from work and we will have eaten our evening meal. The dishes will be washed and the kitchen will be tidy. I plonk myself down in front of the TV and watch the soaps. Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Corrie most days.

9pm - 11:30pm - I will play some games on my laptop, usually something like The Sims. I will try to be on my way to bed by around eleven o'clock but always fail and it's usually closer to half past when I get into bed and then I will have a scroll on TikTok before I go to sleep.

This is just my average day, when Ellie is at college. I use her college days to get things sorted around the house. The rest of the week, I always feel that I am much busier, going and seeing people, grocery shopping, visiting family and just doing things a little more exciting.

  1. Careful with the candy crush, you don't want to tax your brain with too much intellectualism.

  2. I think average is wonderful I would much rather that than chaos. Your days sound similar to mine although I go to bed really early, I would love to be able to stay up later. Candy Crush is a time suck but so much fun.

  3. I hate making phone calls too and tend to make them in the morning as well so I can get them over with. It sounds like a great balance between relaxing and productivity!

  4. I play candy crush too. It's relaxing! And I also hate phone calls!

  5. It's fun to read about everyone's day. I like doing the dreaded tasks first too. I probably play too much candy crush, usually at the end of the day, but it's fun : )

  6. Candy Crush is one my guilty pleasures. Spending time in the garden is much better for your soul than cleaning inside :)

  7. I don't like making phone calls either and I alway get stressed out when I have to. I used to spend hours playing candy crush and then I stopped for a few years. I started playing again the other day and it's changed. Now there are more mini games to get rewards and a bunch of random players. I used to be able to see my friends who played but maybe they've given up.

  8. You do get a lot done during your day! I like that you go back and forth between work and games/computer fun. I used to do that too, but always lost track of time and didn't get as much housework done as I'd planned. I also hate phone calls, so sometimes I purposely get things like that done first and over with. Hope you're having a great day!

  9. I think I might be the only person who doesn't play Candy Crush! Haha. I know so many people who love it! This was such a fun post. I love seeing how people spend their days.
