Fun with The Twits - #RoaldDahlDay

I have always loved Roald Dahl's books....He was an amazing writer! My girls have read quite a few of his books and love them too....

Roald Dahl (1916–1990) was one of the world’s most imaginative, successful and loved storytellers. Since his death, his work has not only endured but is still increasing in popularity. His stories are currently available in 59 languages. UK sales alone are over 50 million books and rising, with global sales estimated to be more than 200 million.

Tomorrow is Roald Dahl day like it is every year on the writers birthday! Roald Dahl Day has trended globally and in the UK for the last few years and this year it is focused on all things Twits in particular the beard of Mr Twit!

I was asked if my girls and I would like to get involved in the celebration! Of course!! The girls were both sent a copy of The Twits.....One in paperback and the other in hardback...

Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the smelliest, nastiest, ugliest people in the world. They hate everything except playing mean jokes on each other, catching innocent birds to put in their Bird Pies, and making their caged monkeys, the Muggle-Wumps, stand on their heads all day. But the Muggle-Wumps have had enough. They don't just want out, they want revenge.

Both the books had their own special features....The hardback actually had a beard on it and the paperback had scratch and sniff stickers....A great bit of fun!

Booksellers are turning their shops into “beard boutiques” and we decided to make some beards of our own.....

The girls had a great time making the beard and they love The Twits story.....It's was just the right length for Ellie who's just turned 8 to finish and thoroughly enjoy....It is only 87 pages long and at the back there is a lot of information about Roald Dahl, Quentin Blake, being a writer and lots more fun things....Becky has read it before and was quite happy to read it again....The sign of a great book! One night during the week I had to practically wrestle the books off them when they were reading them in bed.....hehehe

The book is fun, very silly and the illustrations are of course amazing....Everything you come to expect from Roald Dahl!

Have you read The Twits?
Do you have a favourite Roald Dahl book?

We were sent these books free of charge in exchange for this post and our review....All opinions and thoughts are our own....
