The best week. #WotW

This week my Word of the Week is:

It has by far been the best week of the school holidays and the best week we've had as a family in a long time....We have good weeks all the time but this week has had so much going on, so many smiles and we've created so many memories.

Stu has his last shift at work on Saturday....He is on his holidays now. He had all this past week off and has another week before he has to go back to work. X-Factor returned which meant all the laptops and computers were switched off and we had family time in front of the TV with a fantastic takeaway.....

On Sunday we went to see the Tall ship regatta in Blyth....It was such a wonderful day out.....The weather wasn't too great to start with but by late afternoon we were regretting taking our coats....We saw the ships, went on fairground rides and ate so much lovely food....

On Monday it was Ellie's birthday......She had the best birthday ever! She loved all her presents and the wooden kitchen has been a huge hit. I thought it wasn't going to be as good as it was for £65 but it's brilliant! She has all her toy food organised and it turns out if you move any of it she knows and gets angry...lol

On Tuesday we had another BBQ and the kids played in the paddling pool, sand and had a water fight with the Bunch O Balloons. Which I can highly recommend. They are so easy to use and are lots of fun.

By Wednesday we just needed a rest....lol We had a lazy day not doing much which was so needed....There was a lot of laptop and computer time and Becky and I watched so many YouTube videos....

We went back to school shopping yesterday and got the last of the things we needed....There were a few arguments over Frozen shoes and shoes being "too" sensible but we will not let it ruin the week....I didn't expect shoe shopping to go well...lol

Top tip....If you still need to get stationary have a look in Poundland before anywhere else. We saw things in there for £1 which we had just bought from a big supermarket for £2, £3 and £4. Grr!

I don't know what we have planned for today....I'm hoping for a quiet day....I think housework and a day of catching up on blogging is needed....

  2. What a fab sounding week! It sounds like a lot of people have had lovely summers this year. I brace myself for school shopping and this year the only I got with our daughter in tow (no pun intended!) were shoes. #wotw

  7. Hi Kim, it sounds like you've ended the school holidays with a perfect week. The thought of wearing Frozen shoes did make me want to pull on a pair of fluffy socks though. I think myself lucky that we don't have the selection of shoes here like you do in the UK, so choices are more limited.

It's great that Ellie had a great birthday and she loved her present. Sometimes you just can't be sure.I hope she helps keep your kitchen just as tidy!

    xx
