This week my Word of the Week is:
This week I have struggled to write my word of the week. I don't have anything to write about really. It has been a quiet, uneventful week so I'm going to waffle for a bit about what we have got up to.
Stu has been off work the past week, using up the last of his holidays before the new tax year starts in April. When he is off work I always get lazy. He is around to help with the housework and cooking and I get to have a break. It has been lovely.
The kids obviously have been at school and there is nothing to report there. I did get a letter saying Ellie has lost a library book and they want the book found and taken in or £7.99 which I think is a bit of a cheek as it's under £3 on Amazon with free delivery! I've ordered it and will send it in to school. A book is a book after all. I have a feeling they won't be happy with my solution.
I've finished re-watching Game of Thrones and then started to catch up with what I'd been recording. I watched Cheat that was on ITV last week and I loved it. I heard people complaining about the ending but I liked it.
I've mentioned in the past about how our neighbour has 2 huge radio antennas, the height of telegraph poles in his back yard. When it's windy they hit the phone lines. I complained to the council well before Christmas and they agreed they were breaking planning laws. Our neighbour ignored the council until earlier this week. I am guessing the threat of prosecution gave him the nudge he needed to take them down. They have been replaced with one smaller one but that's fine, it's not going to do any damage and it's not an eyesore. Hooray!
The large Easter eggs are at half price in Tesco and I couldn't resist buying the girls a few each. They should be delivered today. I will be getting Stu to hide them away because if I hide them they won't last until Easter. lol Now I want the extra large to go down in price so I can get the Bounty one. hehehe
We don't have any plans for the weekend. I sometimes wish we were one of those families which always had days out planned over the weekend but by the time Friday evening comes around the girls are ready to just laze about and ideally not leave the house for a couple of days. I might push my luck over the weekend and make the most of Stu being off work to go somewhere, even if it's just a walk to the big park.
Waffling is good, it's like having a bit of a catch up with friends over a cuppa :) Good news about the antennas, I'm glad he's taken them down. I think your book solutions is perfect, they'll get their book back after all. I've not thought of buying Easter Eggs yet, but I did see they had 3 for £10 in the Co-Op which I thought was pretty good. I always think we'll get out and do something at the weekend but I guess the kids don't feel so enthusiastic as they've been away from home at school all week and are quite happy to laze around the house. Sometimes it's not worth the effort. We won't be doing anything this weekend as Graham is out helping a friend move house.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to #wotw xx
I too have to hide the Easter eggs, I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate. Great result about the antennas, at least you can stop worrying about it now. We usually try and get out the house on a Sunday but it always depends on how the kids are feeling, after a week at school sometimes they just want to chill out. Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteI think I could have used the word waffle this week too. We've been quiet over the weekends, but I can see that changing as the weather warms up. I've bought the Easter hunt eggs, just because they tend to disappear from the shelves quickly. Must get my skates on for the rest. I'm sure the school will be fine about you sending in a book. I've done it before. Glad to hear the problem with your neighbour is sorted. Hope you have a lovely weekend. #wotw
ReplyDeleteI love a good waffle! I'm glad you're neighbour took down the antenna, that must have been so annoying! I think I might join in with this, I'm looking for linkys to join in with x
ReplyDeleteI agree it can be nice to have some down time at the weekends when you are doing so much at school.
ReplyDeleteI think you are quite right, you never get a holiday from work so making the most of Stu being home is sensible.
Cheek to charge more for the book than it costs.
It’s good to have a bit of a waffle sometimes. It sounds like you’ve had a nice week and how lovely to have that break with Stu being around. I would have done the same with the book too. #WotW
ReplyDeleteI love your book solution, they have got the book back they cant really complain. And waffling is good! Hopw you enjoyed Stu being home its nice to get a little help every now and then x
