This week my Word of the Week is:
After the excitement on the previous week with the almost perfect week this past week has seemed a bit gloomy. My mood and the weather. It can't always be sunshine and roses.
Last weeks WotW blog post ended with me saying I had caught Becky's cold and I was fine with it, all I had was a snotty nose and it was bearable until Tuesday when the cough started. It was a really tickly cough and it has been annoying me all week. Waking me up, feeling sick from coughing and feeling just blah. It's not Covid, I've tested it's just the stupid cold which is going around, so many people seem to have it, they're dropping like flies at Stu's work. Thankfully Becky is over it now and I am feeling a bit better. Hopefully this means if I've had this cold now I won't have one over Christmas.
Feeling not so great has had me feeling in a real gloomy mood which hasn't been helped by the weather. I think it's been foggy every day this week. At least Becky had the experience of driving in fog in her driving lesson. The washing is piling up because I refuse to use the tumble dryer and one load of washing takes a day and a half to dry inside. Ugh!
We put the Christmas decorations up on Monday and Stu and I had a lot of fun. We left the kids to decorate the tree and they weren't bothered in the slightest. They're excited for Christmas but not the little things like decorating the tree. Hmmf. I suppose it's another sign of them getting older. At least I don't have the Elf on the Shelf to deal with now so it's not all bad. lol
The best news of the week is that Stu some more holidays from work booked, so much for not being able to take any in December. hehehe. He did make me chuckle as he thought he would be having a quiet week but I have things planned for him. Christmas food shopping with my dad, wrapping presents, Ellie getting fitted for her hearing aid, the big Christmas house clean and a meal out.
I am at the point now where I have done as much as I can for Christmas so for the next week or so I am going to do things which make me happy and get rid of my gloomy mood. I'll be watching Christmas movies, doing some baking, watching more football and just being kind to myself.
I hope you have had a good week?
I think being unwell makes you gloomy, along with the bad weather. I hope it lifts soon and you are feeling happier next week. My kids have not shown any interest in decorating the tree for a couple of years either, I sometimes wonder why I bother but I'm sure they'd complain if I didn't. My eldest keeps getting decorations out of the cupboard and leaving them around which is his way of letting me know it's time to decorate. I'll get it done this weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are feeling a little down, feeling poorly can take it out of you can't it?!
