Good things come from the North East. #MySundaySnapshot

My friend and her husband came from the North East to visit us over the weekend and she didn't just bring her self which was good enough she brought me Pease pudding too! We can't get Pease pudding here in North Lincolnshire unless it comes out of a tin and that stuff is not good.

Pease pudding is a pale yellow colour and is nothing like mushy peas. It’s made by soaking yellow split peas in ham stock and has a creamy, subtle flavour. I have tried making it myself in the past and it was OK but it's just not the same as shop bought.

Traditionally Pease pudding is served with pork but I only ever have it in sandwiches. So every day this week I have had ham and Pease pudding sandwiches for lunch. One day I had an early lunch and then another sandwich mid-afternoon. hehehe

Hello, it's Friday again so it's time to link up with Erika and Andrea and share some of my favourites from the week. Some weeks I have to really think about my favourites but this past week I had so many things to mention that some things haven't been mentioned at all.

Money off Gousto!

We get Gousto boxes, where they send you everything you need for the recipes that you pick and we have a break from them for a few weeks. There was method in my madness because I know if you have a break they send money off vouchers to entice you back. hehehe I got £5 off one box and then 25% off another two which really makes a difference. We have some fantastic meals coming up over the next few weeks.

Lunch out with my family.

Most weeks my fella and I go out for lunch on a Sunday, the girls would much rather laze in bed but with it being Mother's Day last Sunday I said to the girls they were coming out with us. The weather was awful and wet and they joked that this goes to prove how much they love me as they wouldn't go out in the rain for anyone. hehehe We had a lovely roast dinner and had planned on going to the pub after but we were keen to get home and to get warm after being out in the rain.

The Oscars.

I don't remember ever staying up and watching The Oscars. Like the Superbowl it has either started earlier or there is some time difference change. I only watched a handful of awards given out, Billie Eilish sing and John Cena with no clothes on but I really enjoyed it and caught up with the rest of the highlights the morning after. After hearing so much about Oppenheimer I feel like I need to watch it when it comes onto the movie channels next month.

Kate Middleton.

Not really a favourite but some of the videos and tweets that I've seen about the situation have been interesting. There has been so much drama surrounding the Royal Family and the Mother's Day photo that Kate Middleton released. I did think so what that she edited the photo of her and her children, most of us who put photos online edit them in some way even if it's just to brighten them up but then I fell down the rabbit hole of watching TikToks about how Kate's face is actually from a magazine cover from 2016 and the kids images were taken from an event they went to and the colour of the clothing has just been changed. It really has got me wondering about where she is. The theories out their are wild, I just hope that she is OK.

Pease Pudding.

Pease Pudding is something from the North East of England. It is a side dish traditionally served with ham. I lived in the North East for most of my life and it was normal to have a ham and Pease pudding sandwich. We moved 150 miles further south a few years ago and Pease Pudding is not a thing here, you can buy it in a tin but it really isn't the same as the fresh stuff. If we visit the North East we always buy some and over the years my friend from the North East has actually sent us some in the post so whenever someone says they are visiting up North we joke and ask them to get us some and one of my fellas work friends did just that! I was so happy. It's just a shame it was just one tub, it's all gone now. Hmmf.

Mother's Day gifts!

I was so spoilt on Sunday, as well as the meal out the girls bought me gifts. Becky got me a rose plant with a cute pot, they both got me a gorgeous necklace with the word mam, that's what they call me, it's from our days in the North East and my birthstone on and Ellie got me chocolates and a keyring. I felt very lucky.

Warmer weather.

There has been days over the past week where I could have gone out without wearing a coat but I couldn't as it has been very wet. If it hasn't been chucking it down it's been that really fine rain, like mist. Hmmf. It has made me happy that spring is on it's way and then we have summer! It is awkward at this time of year when I don't have a huge selection of coats. I either stay dry and sweat or be at the right temperature and get wet. As I writing this it's 15c which seems really warm for this time of year, it's almost summer weather. lol

Supermarket Simulator.

Becky, my eldest has been playing Supermarket Simulator for the last week or so, she saw people playing it on TikTok and it's her type of game. You run your own supermarket stock the shelves, set prices, use the check out, take payments and hire staff. Of course I took notice as it sounded my type of game too. Becky was so keen for me to play it she bought it for me as an extra Mother's Day gift and it's addictive! I have restarted it about 6 times learning from my mistakes of expanding too fast and buying things I didn't need. It's a fun game to pass the time.

It has been a week of love. Valentine's day helped with that but there has been a lot to love this week.

Stu and I had a lovely Valentine's day which we didn't plan until the last minute. We had a meal on Saturday night, an afternoon tea, which was amazing and we watched The Matrix Resurrections film which I did not love. It was just OK. At least now I can say I've seen it.

The kids have been on their half term from school and college. I have loved having the break from the routine, lazy mornings and late nights and I've loved having the kids here, well when they have actually been here. 

They have both had days out with friends. Becky went to Hull on Monday with her girlfriend, they went to the Deep aquarium and a look around the shops, They left just after 9am and didn't get back until nearly 7pm. They have one of those 100 dates posters which you scratch off when you have done the thing with you loved one and scratched off a few things. They bought a book for each other, which was on the list which made me chuckle as I didn't think either were really into reading but they sat here on Monday evening ignoring each other reading their books. 

On Tuesday both the girls were out again. Ellie went with her friends to McDonalds and back to her house where they watched YouTube and TikTok. They had a great time but I was glad to have both girls home on Wednesday, it was starting to feel like I had hardly seen them.

I have spent a lot of my week watching the TV show This is Us and I do love it. I just wish I hadn't binge watched it so much as I am on to season 5 and I know season 6 is the last and is only being released weekly on Disney+. It is such a rollercoaster watching it. One minute I am laughing, the next crying and the next shouting oh my god! I think Kate & Toby are my favourites although there has been a few moments when I have shouted at the TV "Toby, sort yourself out". lol 

This is Us is a heart warming and emotional story about a unique set of triplets, their struggles and their wonderful parents. In moments of love, joy, triumph and heartbreak, revelations emerge from parents Jack and Rebecca's past, while triplets Kate, Randall and Kevin discover deeper meaning in their present day lives.

We had a random parcel turn up the other day, my friends husband sent it, a car part computer thing for Stu to have a look at and fix. He managed to fix it last time when we lived in Northumberland. There had been talk about sending it a few months ago so it wasn't expected. It's no problem but it did give me a good excuse to have a catch up with my friend, the husband of the person who sent the parcel. Apart from pease pudding she is one of the things I miss most about our life up in the North East. It did make me feel old though, our kids used to go to school together and now they are almost all grown up. Time does fly.

Speaking of pease pudding my dad had a go at making it a few weeks ago and it was so good so we have came up with a good deal. I buy the split peas and he will make it, enough usually to last us all a couple of weeks. I have been having ham and pease pudding sandwiches most days for lunch.

A brilliant birthday surprise.

I did mean to get this up and posted last week but never got a around to writing it. I had such a busy weekend for my birthday, then my actual birthday and by Tuesday I was exhausted. I went back to bed and then spent the rest of the day catching up on all the other blog things that I hadn't done over the previous days.

On Saturday the plan was to see the Christmas lights being switched on locally and then go with Stu and my girls for am early birthday meal out. We all dressed up a little and even the girls wore clothes which weren't tracksuits. hehehe That happened but with a big surprise. My friend who I haven't seen since we left Northumberland came for a visit and surprised me with her husband.

 

Stu and her had been conspiring and planning for about a month. lol I had no idea. She came up behind us when we were waiting for the Christmas lights to be switched on and I can't repeat what I said. There were quite a few swear words and then some happy tears. It was the best surprise. I stood there in shock, she was the last person that I expected to see.

We went to the local pub and had a fantastic meal and a few drinks. I thought the meals to start with were expensive but the food was so good and there was a lot of it. I had planned on taking lots of photos but never even got my phone out. We were just enjoying the moment. It was such a lovely evening, we talked and talked and had a good catch up. Then on Sunday she came for a look around our house and the town where we live. She also brought me some Pease Pudding, it's one thing we can't get in North Lincolnshire, I think it only exists in the North East. I have made home made before but it's not the same as proper Dicksons Pease Pudding.

We went out for a Sunday lunch and after my friends had left my family said I could open a few of my presents. I got some new Harry Potter pj's and a giant snuddie, it is so cosy and I never wanted to take it off.

I said on Sunday night that I had the best birthday and it wasn't my actual birthday until Monday. lol

I had a little lie in on Monday morning and Tesco arrived with the shopping and my birthday cake. It wasn't the one I wanted but it was just as good. A Banoffee one. I opened some more of my presents and got some good one's. I think my favourites were the Grey's Anatomy t-shirt and the Churros maker. I can't wait to give that a try. I made time to watch the final ever episode of The Walking Dead before I ended up seeing any spoilers. I was happy with the ending and it is all set up now for the spin off shows.

When it was almost lunchtime Stu, Becky and me went to the pub. We had lunch there and of course stayed to watch the England world cup match. Didn't the lads do well, I hope they keep it up.

We managed to get home just as the rain started and goodness me it really came down. I got changed straight into my pj's, watched another football match and then it was time to order tea. As it was my birthday I chose an Indian takeaway, it was so good and even the girls enjoyed it. They were never a fan of Indian takeaways but not they love it. There was more football and of course cake.

I know I say it again and again, every year but it was the best birthday. I think the fact it lasted for a few days made it special. I feel so lucky that so many people wished me happy birthday, sent me gifts, came to visit me and made my day special.

A photo every day for a year! 19th - 25th April Week 17 of #Project365

How are we almost at the end of April already? I will start by saying it now, this year is going way too fast and it doesn't seem like two minutes since I wrote my last Project 365 post. This past week seemed to drag because I was full of cold but at the same time, it flew over as everything was back to normal with Ellie back at college after the Easter break and Becky went away for a few days and saw the singer Alex Warren in concert. She had a great time!

We have had a nice weekend so far. We've not been up to much, as Stu isn't feeling the best being full of cold. He caught it from me. He thought he had got away with not being poorly but there was no escape. Yesterday was all about catching up on the housework that I didn't do during the week. Although I did manage to keep on top of the laundry, it seems so much easier when I can get it out on the line to dry.

109/365 19th April

Just the sun setting. We seem to be getting a lot of pretty sunsets lately but I keep missing them. Before the clocks changed, I was seeing all the sunsets when I was cooking tea but now it's not setting until later, Ellie is the one spotting them when she goes to put the kettle on for our evening cup of tea. She shouted that there was a pretty sunset, so I went running.

110/365 20th April

I was doing a good job of staying hydrated while I was full of cold. The amount of cups and glasses I had beside me was comical. Two glasses with juice in, a mug of tea and a mug with Lemsip in which I was waiting to cool down. Drinking all the drinks was good for me but it meant I was up and down to the bathroom non-stop, which wasn't fun, when all I wanted to do was sit.

111/365 21st April

This looks like a simple photo of a lipstick but it has a story behind it. When I took this photo it had been through the washing machine. It dropped out of Ellie's short jeans pocket when I was hanging it on the line. I dread to think what could have happened if it had been wet out or I had been feeling lazy and had put it in the tumble dryer, it would have made such a mess. Eek! The lipstick isn't as black as it looks, it is a really dark, dark red.

112/365 22nd April

Ellie asked me to take a photo of her trousers just to prove to her dad that she had worn them. She got them a couple of years ago and he said it wasn't her style and would probably never wear them out of the house but here she was, wearing them and had been all day when she was out of the house. She said she will be wearing them lots in the future as they are so comfy and light, they will be perfect for the warmer months.

We have a shoe rack in the hall and a cupboard under the stairs where shoes go but Ellie keeps putting her shoes there, just next to the dining room table. I keep tripping over them and then forgetting to tell her to get them moved when she gets in. I took this photo to remind me to have words. The shoes have now been moved! Kids!!

114/365 24th April

Becky brought me some Pease Pudding home from up north. hehehe Pease Pudding is this thick, savoury mush made from split peas that looks a bit dodgy but tastes really good, especially in a ham sandwich. We can't get it here where I live as it seems it's just a North East thing.

Just a Mr Kipling French Fancy cake. I bought a box last week and forgot all about them until today. These always make me think of my childhood, we only got these for special occasions or when we went to visit my great Aunt. We thought she was so fancy as she always had a box in the cupboard.

Some things just don't translate!

When we moved house in the summer of last year one of the first things we noticed was the difference in the accents and the way people spoke. We moved from Northumberland to North Lincolnshire. There is a big difference!

My family sound really Geordie compared to people here even though we lived nowhere near Newcastle and I am ashamed to admit it, we sound so common. People here talk really posh! It is hilarious though, there is lots of times people have looked at Stu and I like we're talking a different language. 

The best example I can give is when we were at my dad's one of my dad's friends was walking past and Stu said something like "that bonfire is really stinking" and he answered with "quarter to three". Stu, my dad's partner Sarah and I just looked at each other trying to hide our giggles. 

When Stu and I are talking to anyone which isn't my dad or Sarah we try to talk slowly. Stu does talk fast and people just can't understand him. I remember when I first met him I asked him to speak slower so it does take some getting used to. I was born and brought up in the North East but in Stockton on Tees and Durham. My dad's partner Sarah is born and bred here and she talks so slowly compared to us. My dad has lived here for about 12 years so is used to how people speak but he has picked up the accent a bit.

There are some words and phrases which Stu and I say and we realise that people don't have a clue what we're on about.

Bubbling!

Meaning: Crying!

If the kids cry (not that they do often), I tell them to stop their bubbling!

Pease pudding!

Does not translate here. No one has a clue what Pease Pudding is and even the suggestion of ham and pease pudding sandwiches is frowned at. I can search for it online and see it in all of the supermarkets but as soon as I log in with my delivery address it vanishes. Hmmf!

Dee as ya telt!

Meaning: do as you're told. When I shout at the kids my accent really comes out. Oops.

Clamming!

Meaning: Starving, hungry to the point of being in desperate need of some sustenance which goes with the next one.

Scran, Bait

Meaning: food

Marra

Meaning: friend, colleague, workmate.

Clarty!

Meaning: wet and muddy.

Workyticket

Meaning: someone being mischievous or downright annoying, mostly Ellie. lol

Lush
Meaning: To describe something that has been enjoyed or something that's liked. A lot of people just don't use that word here and I over use it. That top is lush, that drink was lush, that pie was lush. lol

A few months ago there we met a woman at the local auction who's Scottish and it's wonderful, she understands every word we say, especially Stu. She gets where we're coming from not being able to be understood sometimes. The man who runs the auction is from London and has a strong accent and he understands us. It makes me chuckle. All the non-local people can understand us. 

What does make me laugh is that Ellie's accent is the one that is really changing and not into a typical North Lincolnshire accent. I don't know how and why but she's picked up a Birmingham accent. Some of the words she say's sound really Brummy. My dad first noticed it and Stu and I have since. lol

A trip down memory lane on a day out with family.

Last Sunday evening my dad rang and asked if we wanted to go and visit my great Aunt in Hartlepool on the Bank Holiday Monday! Of course, we had nothing else planned and the kids do love a run out in the car! My dad has a big 7 seater so there's plenty of room.

Travelling from Scunthorpe to Hartlepool is just over 2 hours away and over 120 miles so my dad decided to go the scenic route on the way there. I didn't know how scenic the journey was going to be.

We of course went over the Humber bridge through, Beverley and York and then headed up to Teesside. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years living in and around Teeside. Stockton, Thornaby, Redcar and Billingham. My dad decided while he had us all with him he'd go for a drive around and show his partner, my fella and our kids where we used to live.

First up was Thornaby. When Becky was a baby I lived in a house my dad had previously rented out to students and then I ended up moving a couple of streets away when my mother left and my dad moved into the house I moved out of. I ended up moving into the street my dad lived in when he was first married. He lived at the posh end though. It looked so much rougher than I remembered when I lived there. Eek!

Between mine and my dad's house there was the most amazing butcher's shop. On a morning there would be fried bacon, egg and black pudding sandwiches and a lunchtime there would be meat sandwiches with stuffing, salad or pease pudding. I was so pleased to see it was still there! 

If you've read my blog since we moved from Northumberland to Scunthorpe you'll know I've struggled to buy fresh pease pudding so it was obvious we'd stop and get something for lunch here.

We then went on to Stockton to show the kids where I lived when I was their age. The street looked so much shorter than when I was a child but it really hadn't changed. 

We took a drive around Stockton which again hasn't changed that much. Our favourite chip shop is now a Chinese takeaway, the big church where my dad's friend was a caretaker is still there and my dad's old house where he lived with my mother when my brother and I had left home has had a facelift. New windows and brickwork!

We then went onto Hartlepool to see my Aunty Jean. She's actually my dad's aunt so it makes her my great aunt. She's doing well for her age. She'll be 90 before long. She seems like one of those people who's going to outlive us all. The kids love going to see her as she always has a few plates of cakes ready and her legendary banana muffins!

She got on about how she hadn't been to Seaton Carew sea front for years so my dad said come on we'll go! So we did just that. We spent a good hour in the arcades on the 2p machines, the whole lot of us. Who'd have thought grown adults could get so competitive over the 2p machines. lol

The amount of people on the sea front was crazy! I have never seen the beach so full and I certainly haven't seen so many people queuing up for fish and chips in my life, ever! They must have really wanted them because I wouldn't have queued for so long. 

We weren't done with the sight seeing though. My dad drove us around Hartlepool showing us the house he lived in when he was a child and some where my Aunt Jean lived. She was full of stories and pointed out the back alley where she caught him smoking when he was 14, the old cinema where she had one of the first dates with her husband and much more. 

Before long it was time to head home. My dad took us to see one last house. The house I lived in when I was a baby and the street where I grew up. It was so strange seeing it. I hadn't been back there for about 30 years.

It's funny how you remember things. I don't remember the street being so wide. I had a friend who lived at the other side of the street and when we were little we weren't allowed to cross the road ourselves so we would play with a ball and throw it across to each other. We must have had some throw on us to get it across the street when we were about 5 or 6 years old. lol

It was a fantastic day out and being shown around the old houses really made my day. It was nice to reminisce and share with the kids where I grew up.

Week 11 of #Project365 10th - 16th March. A photo every day for a year!

This past week has been a good one. I spent Mother's day being spoilt, spent way too much time playing a computer game, got some jobs done around the house and got a new cooker delivered.

We don't have much planned for the rest of the weekend although the grass needs cutting. Next door has cut theirs out the front which makes ours look extra long but of course the weather forecast says it's going to be raining for most of the day, I really should have done it yesterday. I guess it will be a job for me during the week, I hate cutting the grass!

70/365 - 10th March

Mother's Day and I had the loveliest day, the girls spoilt me rotten. I did test how much they loved me when I said we were still going out for lunch despite the rain. They didn't grumble (much) and we did have a nice time. They didn't realise how good the Sunday lunches were from our favourite cafe but have said it was just a one off, they will still be staying in bed on a Sunday in future. lol

The Supermarket Simulator game which has took up far too much time of my week. It's very addictive but so simple.

72/365 - 12th March

We were brought some Pease Pudding back from the North East from one of Stu's work friends. It felt like such a treat and I even bought some fancy ham to go with it in sandwiches.

73/365 - 13th March

A couple of weeks ago I had a Nutella chocolate dip thing and wasn't that impressed and was craving a proper Choc Dip. I saw them in the corner shop and had to get myself one. They are as good as I remember.

74/365 - 14th March

My latest Window's update was stuck on this screen for about 15 minutes. I thought it wasn't working and was just about to start panicking but it did it's thing and started running through the percentage of how much was done. The only new thing on it is some AI thing which I probably won't use.

75/365 - 15th March

I finally watched the Taylor Swift Eras tour movie, it arrived on Disney+ on Friday. The girls made me watch it and it is rather good, she is such an amazing performer and I knew more songs than I thought I did. I sort of now understand why they love her so much.

76/365 - 16th March

Our new cooker was delivered. It was supposed to come between 7am and 7pm but I got a text waking me up at 6:37 saying I had to ring the driver, it turns out he was outside. I was not happy as he made out that I was the problem, I had my alarm set for 6:45am, he was early and I let him know that.

This week my Word of the Week is: Grateful! #WotW

I feel like I have so much to be grateful for this past week!

I have been blogging for seven years, Saturday gone and I am grateful to the people who support my little space on the internet. It means a lot to me.

This week didn't start off great with me not feeling too well. I am putting it all down to the stress of the missing parcel last week and Ellie's heart check up this week. I almost cancelled my birthday earlier in the week when I was being a total drama queen. I'm glad I didn't. I had a lot of support which I am grateful for.

It was the first time visiting the local hospital to have a heart check and it's a big ruddy hospital. Of course the children's outpatients is nowhere near the normal outpatients so we got totally lost. A few passers by were lovely enough to stop and point us in the right direction. They made a stressful morning a lot easier and I am grateful for that.

We met the Ellie's new consultant for her heart and she is lovely. She really reassured me. She said there is no change in her heart since last year and said if there is no change at all in the next few years she might never need any more heart surgery. She can't promise that but it is fantastic news. Ellie's heart has always been the worst out of her's and her sisters so that is the best news. She also told me that they want me under their care so I will be going for a check on my heart sometime in the new year. I was born with a hole in my heart and it closed naturally but about 10 years ago when I had a scan I was told I had leaky valves. They want to keep an eye on that. Eek!

Yesterday was my birthday and I have never felt so loved. My family spoilt me rotten. I got everything I wanted and more. Becky had one of her days off college and stayed home and her gift to me was to do the housework. There wasn't much to do. Just the tidying and hoovering but it meant so much. I was so grateful to have to full day off being a responsible adult. hehehe

So many people wished me happy birthday on social media and the lovely Jayne from Sticky Mud & Belly Laughs sent me something special and the amazing Anne from Raisie Bay, the host of the WotW linky sent me a card. I am so grateful to have a good bunch of friends which I have made through blogging.

There was also my real life friends spoiling me. The lovely Mrs M from back in Northumberland send me a lovely box of goodies with flowers, chocolates and a balloon which made my day.

Soon after another parcel arrived and it was two tubs of Pease Pudding. Not the traditional birthday gift but she knows how much I love the stuff and the fresh Pease Pudding doesn't exist here in Scunthorpe. I cried with laughter and happiness that it was the perfect gift.

I couldn't stop smiling yesterday and I am so grateful to everyone who made my 40th birthday the best birthday ever!

What I loved in July 2020!

Another month has flown over and life for some is starting to get back to normal. We are still staying home as much as we can. The kids have been going to the park and we've had their friends visiting (obviously all not at the same time). I think that's as normal as it's going to get for now although in August I will have to have a trip into town to get school shoes for Ellie and the kids the last of their birthday presents.

What I loved in July!

The WWE Network.

I subscribed to the WWE Network at the beginning of July and I think I've already got my money's worth. It is a streaming service showing all things WWE wrestling related. I have watched so much and I am working my way through every episode of Raw since the late 90's. That's one episode, every week so I have a lot to watch. lol Even the kids are starting to love it now.

Pease Pudding.

I finally made my own and it was amazing! I gave some to my dad and he loved it and Stu mentioned it to someone at work who is a fan of pease pudding too but like me can't buy any around here so I will be making some for her in my next batch.

Reduced items.

I used to love going to the local shops on an evening to see what reduced things they had in but during the lockdown the reductions dried up but recently they have been appearing again and I feel like we've been treating ourselves but spending hardly anything. Ellie loves the Sushi which is supposed to be a couple of pounds but I have been getting it for 40 or 50 pence. Becky has been loving the reduced cream cakes and I have been loving all the cheap flowers. I have been getting a lot of sunflowers. Some reduced from £8 to a £1. 

Shopping for birthday presents.

I am just about finished shopping for the kids birthday presents. Becky's was easy, she's getting a laptop and clothes but Ellie was a little harder. She wanted all things Japanese. Things like Bento boxes, Anime and Kawaii things and chopsticks. lol It really was fun shopping for her and she chose most of her presents but I added a few extra things too.

The end of the school year. 

It was the strangest school year ever and we were glad to see the end of it. Ellie and I were so done with the home schooling. We're already getting ready for the new school year in September. I've bought some of what Ellie needs uniform wise but we still have a few things more to buy like stationery and of course school shoes.

Monopoly.

I haven't been loving this because my family are a bunch of cheats but my family and especially my girls have been obsessed with it. They've played it with Becky's girlfriend and then with Ellie's friend.

What have you loved in July?

365 Days Of Gratitude. In March I was grateful for..

March was a pretty good month but it did fly over considering January and February went so slow. The sun has been shining more, the nights are getting lighter and I still have to cut the grass. lol

I have seen many people on social media list something every day that they are grateful for and thought I would join in and have on my private Facebook account every day and I thought I would share here too. I did this for the whole of last year couple of years and it has really made me realise that even on the bad day's I have something to be grateful for.

Today I am grateful for a takeaway! Stu and I got an Indian takeaway and the girls got chip shop because they didn't fancy a curry.

Today I am grateful for Google so I can find out who all these singers are on the Brit Awards! I feel old!

Today I am grateful for a Sunday lunch out!

Today I am grateful for hair dye! Purple this time. Makes a change from the reds and pinks that I usually have.

Today I am grateful for a nice day at home with Ellie. I do love our Thursday's together.

Today I am grateful that I got tons of jobs done around the house so I could enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Today I am grateful for my girls. I have had a lovely Mother's Day! I've been spoilt rotten with presents, cards and lunch out.

Today I am grateful that Stu does the cooking on a Monday. I really couldn't be bothered tonight.

Today I am grateful that Stu's work friend brought us a tub of Pease pudding back from his visit to the North East! Stu only asked him as a joke but he understands our frustration that you can't get the fresh stuff down here in Scunthorpe

Today I am grateful for a trip to the shop to buy some sweet treats. We had no cake in the house at all which is no good, I need cake for my evening cup of tea.

Today I am grateful that we're getting a new cooker! The oven door was dodgy last year but we fixed it but now one ring doesn't work and 2 of the knobs are broken.

Today I am grateful that the girls convinced me to watch the Taylor Swift concert off Disney+. It was good.

Day 76 of #365DaysOfGratitude 

Today I am grateful that the new cooker was delivered safely although it arrived at 6:45am. I was woken by texts and calls from the delivery guy. We had words, he didn't need to be so angry, he was early, my slot was between 7am and 7pm

Today I am grateful that Becky managed to sleep for her night shift despite Mr DIY next door hammering. Goodness knows what he was doing, he spent at least 6 months hammering and drilling before he moved in last year.

Today I am grateful that the new cooker has been installed and it works brilliantly!

Today I am grateful that I have got washing out on the line. Two days on the trot now, it won't last. I am sure we're forecast rain tomorrow.

Today I am grateful that I found time to catch up over a weeks worth of Neighbours episodes.

Today I am grateful for discovering a new Gousto recipe that I will be making again. Crispy Chicken Katsu Curry Burritos!

Today I am grateful that my food shop got delivered, eventually! Booked it to come between 10 & 11am and it didn't arrive so I rang up and they said a van had broken down but it would be delivered at 4pm. It arrived just after half past 5!

Today I am grateful for a bit of amusement on FB. I do love watching an argument happen on one of the local groups.

Today I was grateful for a nice walk out in the sunshine. I always feel in such a good mood when it's sunny out.

Today I am grateful for a fun day with Stu. We were out most of the day and I am just about ready for bed.

Today I am grateful that I got some washing dried before the washing line snapped. Ugh!

Today I am grateful that Ellie has finished college for the Easter break!

Today I am grateful that me and the girls are still feeling fine despite Stu testing positive for Covid a couple of days ago. He's feeling pretty rough but it's nothing more than a bad cold.
